I have read on tripadvisor that many of the guest jump que, push, shove and just don't care for the safety of others.

Is this true and how bad is it? I am use to WDW and most people being polite and orderly. Am I in for a shock?

i have experienced people trying to jump the queue but i've never had any problems with people pushing. If people do try and push past i'm a big fan of the sticking out the elbows manoever lol

I'd say it's only been really noticeable once out of our visits, that was a November Christmas Season weekend and it was very very busy, can't say we've experienced any real problems other than that one time.

In ride queues, I have never experienced queue jumpers at DLRP.

Character meets, however, are a whole different matter. I have heard here that it comes as a shock to lots of people who have previously been to WDW, when they experience the character scrums at DLRP. And they can be just that - scrums, free-for-alls. Some adults think nothing of barging little children out of the way so they can grab the character for a picture or autograph. CMs with the characters are getting better at dealing with this, but they have a long way to go yet.

If you don't want to get involved in character free-for-alls, consider the queued meet n greets, which take place in both the main park and the Studios, and which are advertised in the programmes (character name, location and times). Or, consider a character meal, where the characters come to you.

i remember a couple of year ago i was waiting to get a picture with one of the characters and i was pushed by a child who was only just above my waist height!!!!

Never had any queue jumpers ,but you have to stand your groung when getting a spot for the parades and the charactor meets can bit a bit of a scrum espcially if your child is not very pushy, my tip is the visit the DLH at 4,oclock and meet the charactors

It depends whether it's busy, I think. Avoid the courtesy buses, the character scrums in the park and really busy/high season weekends and you should be OK. Queuing isn't always practised but there are some kind people too - when we were there a couple of young women made room for us and our children so that we could see the parade.

i have heard both good and bad stories but i think that is true of anywhere you visit. if you are going off season and not at the weekend then you should be fine. we had a wonderful halloween season trip and only very rarely did i witness any rudeness and no shoving that i can recall. the characters in the park did have a bit of a scrum and tbh its not great all my pics are of so many people you dont even know who is supposed to be in the picture lol. but a lot of it is common sense. if you see a character mobbed then there is no point in joining in. it is stressful and the chances are they wont even get to you. i was the same as juliette i had a lovely lady who told her kids to make room for me so ash could see candleabration as she was standing on my throat trying to get a glimpse lol

I've read trip reports from WDW. It seems it is not immune to the bad behaviour of our fellow humans as well

Thankfully at DLP the selfish minority (of all ages) should not spoil anyone's enjoyment. Culturally the idea of a queue is not the norm so it makes sense to go prepared for this and you will have a great time

We are thinking of going to DLP on 28-29 of Sept. A Monday and Tuesday so we are hoping for low crowds and not seeing too many scrums. I trust that a scrum is just a breaking out of poorly mannered people?

For now I remain hopeful and will plan on having a nice trip.

as far as i have heard sept is a quiet month. kids back at school and all and only going on weekdays you should be fine.

No, the promotions in Europe and USA are not transferable to the other destination

when we went to dlp for the first time, we tried to do all of the characters and did experience the pushing and shoving mentioned before, and tbh, when we got home, it was something that we remembered as a low of our trip!

This trip, we made a concious decision only do the organised meet and greats (queues) and not to do the 'scrums', although we did meet several characters in in the studios which seems to be much more calm.The children were quite happy with this as they remembered how stressy it had got on the last trip and were happy to carry on for the rides and all of the other lovely things that the park has to offer!!

I think because we went in with this view, it wasn't a problem at all for us, although i accept that in the busier seasons, it might become more of an issue.

We have only witnessed one lot of queue jumping in all my visits. It was at the Studios preview, some group jumped the queue we complained to a CM who told them to leave they ignored her so she picked up the phone to security, they soon left

I've experienced a little queue jumping, mainly in low season though when it's not really a big problem.

We had far worse experiences in WDW including one where my Dad was asked to "step outside" because he wouldn't allow a bloke to puch in front of us for a ride
