Can items such as packaged gummy bears, candy, cookies etc (basically the snacks on the center carts in resort food courts) be used as desserts on the dining plan? I know they can be used as snack credits but was wondering about the dessert option. Thanks!

Never come across this to be honest. They have got better over the last few years at allowing you a fruit cup as a dessert which they didn't years ago or in some cases an extra drink instead of your dessert but this is obviously how they keep their costs down giving the basic desserts.

You'll have to ask at the food court about the specific item you are interested in. The usual substitutions are a bottle of water or a side/dessert from the children's menu and not a pre-packaged candy or snack.
