Dear Snowysmom, I love your tree and pray it helps bring you merry extra cheer.

Dear Lynn, just a big hug and brighter Sunday prayers.

Love and prayers to everyone, you all know that.

Dad and I, God-willing, will enjoy lunchtime together today. Tomorrow we pray to move forward in positive and healing ways on our floors and, of course, therapy-wise for me, and both of us taking care. We will also be checking with maintenance man M.

Have a good Sunday. I will check back later.

Should have gotten my car detailed last week for this weeks trip. Took all the stuff out of it and planned to go to a local place this morning but after reading their recent reviews, no thanks. I'll take my hand held vacuum out there and do a bit in my seat area where my feet go. That's really the worst of it. May wipe down the inside dash area. Then once I'm south if the weather is better I'll find a place to have a wash done.

Meanwhile my clothing is ready for packing. Will get that done today. Trying to be more restrained about what I take. I also need to check Florida weather for the next 10 days. I know the nights will probably be chilly but sometimes the days can make you want lighter clothes and then make you change if you go back out in the evenings.

We have a smidgen of precipitation. Not sure what it is. It's not much. But the next two days are also calling for moisture in some form. I will run out in a bit to get some eggs. But that's only a mile of driving.

@lynxstch - Summer needs to toss her rabbits foot. It's obviously not working well. Sorry to hear about the death, tragic!
And Dave! I never would have thought of long rifle hunting but I'm sure he was there in his head and just watching the weather. I need to do something with my cement steps also. Pressure wash, yes, but I'm afraid they will pit and need repair, so I've not cleaned them recently. The cement porch area is in perfect shape, just those steps.

@Snowysmom - you did good! I was checking out Xmas stuff in my basement and realized I have a few small trees and 2 bigger ones. I never got rid of my old bigger one 2 years ago when I bought the new one. Out it's going. No decorating until after my trip. I'll just keep it up as long as I'm enjoying it.

@easyas123 starting a fire sounds fabulous right now. I don't have a fireplace and have no room for a fake one, but keep thinking of it.

I wasn't finished and hit send to fast.

@bobbiwoz hope you are doing well!

@flyingdumbo127 - get your rear in gear and get walking so you can enjoy those floors in your own space with Dad.

So proud of you Snowysmom! I love your tree! And am happy to hear you’re decorating. :goodvibes You have come a long way.

Bobbi, thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving pics, what a beautiful thing that is to do. And Bonnie looks spiffy in her new coat! Where did you get it? We’ve apparently lost our dogs’ coats! :rolleyes1But Toto looks good in his new sweater!

We got the outside of the house decorated yesterday - put up garland with lights around the doorway and along the front porch, along with a nice wreath. Instead of bows on the garland this year we did pinecones found out in our yard. And I found a big, pretty ribbon for the wreath that had pinecones on it! We’ll get the inside done this week, but we’re keeping it simple. We had our own turkey dinner today after going out on Thursday.

We had a nice Thanksgiving. There were 19 of us at my BIL/SIL’s house, three were missing. (And another five have passed, not counting my mother who always came with us too. 🪽) We got some nice pictures and most of us walked down on the cranberry bog afterward with three of our dogs. Really nice day out. DS was able to come with his gf and kids so it was the first time that many of the family met them.

I’m hearing that the snow predictions for Tuesday are now turning to rain, where we are, anyway. DD’s been watching as she’ll have to drive to work in it.

DH and I went out on Friday and I had to come home, I was so cold and exhausted. It took me a long time to warm up and I dozed off on the sofa a bit. I looked up online how long the exhaustion lasts after radiation and found it can go on for weeks, and they said it would, so not overly concerned, but what a pain! (I don’t remember that happening first time I had it, but I’m older now, and was probably running on adrenaline then.)

I did wonder if my poor sleep is related, so last night I went searching for a new blanket to see if I could find one that’s not too cold, not too hot, but “just right”. And I think I did! It’s from Portugal, almost like a light wool. I only had to take it off twice last night, and woke up this morning more refreshed than usual lately, having energy to do two loads of laundry, sort through and put several bags of purchases away, and make a pasta salad, etc. So hopefully that keeps up.

DS invited us to the movies last night so we went, and saw Zootopia 2 which was cute. I didn’t expect to like it but I did! I was thinking of you guys when I saw a lady our age come walking into the lobby all dressed up as the Wicked Witch! And she had a shirt that said “Wicked” on it. I tried to get a pic, it didn’t come out great. But glad she was having a good time!

DS found a tick on Toto today, and I think it was a deer tick, 😬 probably from one of our walks in the woods this month. And we noticed on Thursday he was limping, and couldn’t jump up on the bed or sofa, etc. So a vet appointment is in the works for this week.

Guys, the issue with the dialysis pick up is not the nursing staff, it’s ambulance availability. It’s been a problem everywhere (all of US and other countries) going on several years now. I posted an article here earlier this year. That’s why they have to come at a ridiculous time like 2am for a 6am dialysis. It’s that, or nothing! I’m sure no one’s happy about it, but that’s how it’s been. We’ve had patients waiting to transfer to rehabs and go other places, generally done in the afternoon, who were being picked up at 3am! One night a whole night shift went by with a patient waiting to go - and they never came, all night! I met them at the unit door at 7:30am and their reason was that they’d had a sick call so didn’t have enough staff to do the run. I told them they should’ve called, as the patient sat up all night waiting, but it wasn’t their issue, they’d just come on shift. It’s just a mess right now. That’s the problem. Still stinks.

I hope everyone has a good week! 🐥🎄

Pea Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving and are getting some good rest. Thinking of Toto and hope he is OK.

Bobbiwoz Bonnie looks good in that coat. So sweet.

Judique Safe travels tomorrow. Have fun at Disney.

Good morning. It is 34 here now with temps heading to 38 or so. I am still in the area of snow but keep hoping the storm changes path as they keep saying it might. Then I will be in the rain area. Right now it looks like 3-4 inches. I guess tomorrow will be a stay at the condo day. I hope to get to the lake today to walk before the snow. I remember when I was a kid that 3-4 inches was nothing and we would frequently go to school with that amount of snow. Now with all the computer models and coverage it is a big event. They cancel school even before the storm starts sometimes.

Busy busy week at work. Have a good Monday.

In this area, the least little bit of snow paralyses the area. Congestion is a leading cause. Too many vehicles trying to go places. Another cause is less (not a lack of) resources as we don't get continuous weather all season. Some years no snow. Other years one to two storms. The most successful way is to shut down (schools) in advance. Federal Gov and court systems often follow suit, or close first. It's not easy to predict and all sorts of advance work goes into a decision to shut down, including corresponding with neighboring jurisdictions regarding decisions being made and sending actual people and vehicles out on the roads prior and during early storm stages to assess the need. Parents rarely agree with decisions made as it upsets their needs unless they are under shutdown orders as well.

Long call, better to have kids safely at home than stranded on a bus for hours and overnight as happened one year when an unheard of early November snowstorm hit the area. I was caught in that storm just going on a shopping trip about 10 miles from home. Did not get back home until after midnight from a mid morning excursion with family and a friend. We had a large SUV, but the stuck little cars blocked the roads.

Good morning. Snow flurries outside, temp is 33 heading for37.
I'm glad that I took the framing off the steps myself, since I never heard back from Dave again. :(

I guess I have a new furbaby in the house. I opened the front door last night to take in a walmart delivery and the kitten walked right in. She wandered around and then wanted out, so I let her back out since Mama was on the front porch. When I opened the back door this morning to feed them, she walked right into the kitchen. She's wandering around exploring, sniffing everything. So far 2 of the cats aren't paying any attention to her. A third is in my bedroom where she stays, because she doesn't like the other cats. The one that I was worried about isn't really bothering her, but he's definitely showing jealousy.
She's found the dry food dishes, the fountain and sniffed the litter box, Then she found the box of Munchie's toys (he's the only one who plays with them) and took a few out. She found one she likes and is carrying it around with her. She looks like a mini version of Munchie, same coloring, well it's from the same mother so I guess that happens. I named her Goosie. It was Goose, until I was able to determine that it was a girl, lol.
I feel bad for Lynx the mama, but Goosie is at least 3 months old. Lynx will figure it out. They were mostly only together when they slept on the porch chair at night. 2 boxes on the porch, 2 under it, and they've been sleeping in the open on the cold, windy porch. Makes no sense to me, lol

@Pea-n-Me Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving and got the outside decorated. Don't overdo it on yourself!

Have a nice day everyone

Will you be having her fixed? I found out the hard way years ago that it's a good idea, as I had a cat that died due to an undiagnosed infection that neutering would have prevented. I'd taken her to vets several times before she died, but none knew what was up.

“Good night to all. I may be posting less in days to come. Regardless, prayers and kind encouragement to each of you al2ays.”

Sorry to read that @flyingdumbo127 - but we all do need a break now & again. Continued good luck in your treatment journey.

Lynn- good luck w/ the kitten!

My computer & the Disboards are not simpatico this AM. I keep trying to quote and it’s fouling up plus half my text is disappearing.

Loving the red coat Bobbi!
Contemplating going to the Philadelphia Christmas Mkt some day this month. We went a few years ago and it was okay, thinking about giving it another try.
Got a fair bit of my holiday decor out, though we still have some outdoor stuff to get out. Of course we should have done that a few weeks ago. What's left to do is a two person and one fork lift job so I'll wait for Himself to get home before I tackle that!
Busy couple of weeks at work coming up, at least one trip down to the NC offices.

Yes I will be having her fixed.
