Good morning. 66 here going to 76. Dumped down rain after dinner, rained again lightly most of the night. Was raining hard when I got up, but it's down to a drizzle and looks like it's trying to clear up, despite there being a forecast for rain on and off all day. Rain again tomorrow and Thursday too. We need it, and a lot more than we got so far.

@Judique There is no fee for paying by e-check here, but if you pay by credit card, they charge a 'processing fee' that is a percentage of the total bill you're paying. When I questioned that last time, they told me it's always been that way. No it hasn't because I paid with my bank card for years and I have every bill and receipt and there's no processing fee on any of them. Anything to fill the city's coffers I guess.

I woke way too early from a dream, and couldn't go back to sleep. It was the strangest thing. Fed the cats and birds, cleaned the fridge, gathered trash and took it down and have laundry going. I called the plumber this morning and the office girl told me she knew nothing about the owner supposedly coming here. I told her to talk to the 2 guys that were here on Thursday. She said they were out on jobs and she'd ask him this afternoon when they come back. Annoying the heck out of me.

Nothing planned for today.

Have a good one

Never going to win! Here the credit card charge is 2.45%. I would pay about $95. Last year I beat it by app'ing for a cash back credit card so I made a little. However I don't want to do that 'every' time, especially since I had just done the Southwest 100K points offer. I'll probably do an offer next year if there is a decent one available.

Sorry the plumber is jerking you around. They are all the same.

Meanwhile, I've kept my November trip to Orlando and started roughing in an October one starting the 26th and going though the 1st. That gives me a few days to cancel as I add days. I'm now actually aiming for 4 to 5 nights between DVC and the Swan.
I've booked every night somewhere except for the 29th, and I can get that near Disney Springs at Drury if I don't get a DVC night on that night. So now I'm trying to match resorts as availability changes often, especially at the 31 day mark when points go into holding. And that's not a big worry as I have a longer trip in January with nights that can take the holding points and give me bankable points. @bobbiwoz will understand all this, lol.

The November trip will go poof when I am satisfied with October's trip.

I am away on a RCCL cruise with some friends. So, haven’t been here much, but I am reading things now.

Ugg, I am on an antibiotic for UTI, my second script and it was for two weeks instead of just 10 days. I take it with my breakfast and dinner. My dismay when I went to bring it to dinner and I realized I didn’t have it. Lost and found didn’t have it, so, I paid the fee to see the doctor. I showed him my medical records on line, and they were able to give me what I need. I can only imagine that I left it on the table at breakfast, and I guess it was discarded.

Today, I watched the live action Lilo and Stitch which I really liked.Tomorrow, we will be in Halifax.

I wish everyone a good evening!

Thank you for volunteering dear PollyannaMom! There was a Hallmark Christmas movie centered around the main characters building a community home for a mother and her teen. I don’t remember the name just that I think the main actor's family lived in the small town that the house was being built in. It was an enjoyable story.

Big hug and prayers dear Bobbi.

Prayers truly that each of you did enjoy some extra rest and relaxation today. Sending hugs to each of you, my dear, Quacker family members.

Bobbiwoz Glad you were able to get the meds you needed. Have a nice cruise. Halifax is lovely.

Judique I hope you can get your Disney plans together. It seems like putting together a puzzle.

Mona Thinking of you and hoping things are better.

PollyannaMom Nice that your helped with building a home.

Good morning. It is 64 now with temps not getting much higher. It is going to rain for the next 3 days. I walked at the lake yesterday but today will probably be the gym. My flight to Sedona in November was changed from 6:30 pm to 8:10 am! Quite a change. I am fine with the time but my friend I am traveling with isn't. I am hoping she agrees to keep this flight and changes the car rental so we can drive to Sedona on arrival day instead of staying at a hotel in Phoenix. We can get a night at the resort where our program is being held at a discount according to the tour company. Her friend needs to be able to get to Phoenix around the same time. There are alot of moving parts. This trip is outside my comfort zone so this change is making me rethink it but I would only get a credit for a different tour if I cancel. I don't need the stress right now.

Have a good day.

Did you book it with Jet Blue, @Snowysmom? If so, and they changed your time to a time that no longer works for you, I believe you can get your money back for your flight if you want to. We had to do it once. Then you can rebook it to a time that works better for you with a different carrier. We flew Southwest out to Phoenix. Flights there were fine, with a stopover in Denver, but coming home the first leg of the flight was running late so they knew we wouldn’t make the second leg of the flight. We spent probably an hour at the counter finding a different way home. That was the time we had to stay overnight in the Baltimore airport. :lmao: They did give us each a voucher for $200 after I asked nicely. I’d like to go back to that area someday. We really liked where we stayed and there were so many more things we wanted to do.

Today’s a big day for me. I have an appointment with a new doctor for a second opinion on my radiation, after that I’ll have to make a decision on which I want to choose. I want the one who has the best plan and also I feel good about. I am fortunate, all of my other doctors have been great. I have to see another of my doctors in the afternoon. (Doctors, doctors and more doctors! But can’t complain, really.) It felt like I was going on a date or something, I did my nails and shaved my legs last night  Thankfully I slept.

Have a good Wednesday everyone. 🐥

Good morning Going to be 71 with a chance of showers. If they're right it looks like rain tomorrow too. I'm all packed and ready, everything is ready for the neighbor to take care of the cats and the house. Still no plumber, so I'm calling again this morning to file a complaint. If they're not here today, they're going to have to come when I get home without billing me for the visit they made almost a week ago and didn't fix the issue.

@Snowysmom Wow to your flight change, that is a big change, hope it works out for you and your friend.

Have a good day everyone

Prayers your travel plans all work out dear Snowysmom, hugs.

Pea, hugs, and always healthy prayers extra to you.

Lynn, hugs and nay your Wednesday truly be a calm and happy one.

Thank you all always for your prayers. Today is a huge day for me, too. God willing I will finally get a long term care need met and therefore truly be able to best move and plan recovery forward.

Wednesday love to all.

I've been juggling DVC points since 2000. So it's nothing new to me. It's definitely like a puzzle! This is coming together better than my November trip. Still have to cancel that completely. (I had 5 nights at a Hilton offsite and also 4 nights onsite and have cancelled 2 of those nights.) A Friend is considering taking over my Hilton, which is a two bedroom.

Right now - I have 6 nights last week of October. First night at Animal Kingdom Villas in a studio. It was what was available and I'm probably not keeping it but, I want a minimum of 4 nights, and probably just 5 nights.

Nights 2 and 3 are at BWV, in a studio and a 1 bedroom, meaning I would change rooms 3 times, but at least I would be in the same resort for nights 2 and 3. The option exists to pay more points and get the same room, but I'd have to give up two nights of an already booked reservation to get those points. Meanwhile I've waitlisted to get a studio for night 3 to keep me in the same room.

Nights 4, 5 and 6 are at the Swan Hotel using points again: Night 4 is on Chase UR points. Night 5 is on a Marriott free night certificate and Night 6 is on a Marriott free night certificate, all booked individually. I have platinum status which gives me a bit of free food each night. The downside is for 2 of those nights I have to pay parking and for all 3 I have to pay the resort fee.

Bottom line is cancel AK Jambo, and make one move between BWV and Swan, to get to my best efficiency. Meanwhile hoping a studio or 1 bedroom comes open to fix BWV. At Swan booked the least expensive room but I always get an upgrade to something and will request a balcony room.

As an aside, I love the coffee shop (Java) at Swan. It opens at 6am for us early risers and I sometimes walk over from BWV. It also has prepacked food options such as a chef salad for about $10 plus tax, which is 2 lunches or part of dinner for me. I only mention this because I often find it difficult to find 'quick' food that is fresh and on the healthy side. The salads are packed new each day so no wilted stuff, and it's better than what I've seen at Boardwalk Deli. Will also pick it over Beach club Marketplace which has (to me) gone downhill as to choices.

I have a lot going on here but I've done this before. Forgot to mention that if I get rid of Night 1, I'll try for night 4 (now at Swan) at BWV. Then will cancel that Swan points night which is refundable -and - since it is on ultimate rewards - $$ returned as those can be redeemed for cash.

Most of my food in the evenings will be in Epcot at Food & Wine. I have an annual pass and will float here or there after breakfast but end in Epcot wandering around World Showcase. I have my discounted Disney Gift cards all ready to go for this.

Good luck with the doctor appointment!

Southwest should have paid for all your meals and hotel and given you each a luv voucher as well. I'd be reading up on the carrier stuff and making sure it matched what they had to give at least.

Curious which hotel you used at Baltimore airport? They have quite a few over there. Sometimes I'm dropping kids (and neighbor) off at the airport(s) and for the earlier flights have considered sleeping up there the night before to avoid that morning traffic. Now mostly they just park at the airports as we've all gotten older.

I never go to my doctor without doing my nails (trim and cuticles not polish) and shaving. Of course both sort of go along with showering. September has been a good month in that other than the Ophthalmologist, I haven't had to see any other medical people. (Not that I don't appreciate them!)

Thank you. That’s the thing, we didn’t stay in a hotel, we slept in chairs at the gate! Or, tried to sleep! (Not much luck, super uncomfortable.) We didn’t want to stay in a hotel, too chaotic. The flight out was super early and we didn’t arrive there until evening, so to us it wasn’t worth it. But if we did stay in a hotel, I would’ve asked for reimbursement. There was one older lady in the same situation as us, was on both our flights, going to Boston too. She stayed by herself overnight at the gate. I went over and asked if she’d like to come sit near us, for safety or whatever, and she said thanks, but no, saying she was fine. I don’t think she even asked for vouchers. (Had we talked longer I would’ve mentioned it, got more of a privacy vibe from her.) I last saw her when she was catching her Park and Ride bus at Logan.

Pea Good luck with your appts today.

Judique Thanks for the tip about the coffee shop at the Swan. I may be visiting it next year for coffee and salad. I like to get out walking early in the day. I love a good salad for meals.

The flight is with Delta. The change may be due to a runway being out of operation at Logan for a while. I know I should be able to get my money back and rebook but it is stressful. I usually fly Jetblue but nothing worked for this trip. I do not want a stopover but I will have to see what my friend wants to do. She says she is just bringing a carryon for a 7 night trip which I cannot do. I get nervous about luggage going missing on stopover flights. I may stay with the flight and then do a transport service to the resort in Sedona and book the extra night at the resort and cancel the night I have in Phoenix. My friend can do what she wants. I would prefer to travel together but I need to do what is right for me.

I misread your statement 'we really liked where we stayed' as an airport hotel as opposed to where you stayed on vacation.

Skimmimg too fast as I stalk the DVC website for another studio night.
