Slow day here today! Bumping us up.

I’ve gotten a lot done on my bedroom project. Was at it today until about 1am. 😳 I wanted to keep going. Everything is done now but the closet. I cleaned and polished furniture as I went along. I even went through a lot of my jewelry but still have a lot to do. The bureau that was messy with jewelry all over the top is clean now, though. One of these days I’ll sit down and go through the rest of it and organize it a little better. I have two large ziplock bags pretty full for jewelry donations. Going through everything brought back a lot of memories. 🥹 I think I got four or five trash bags full today for clothing donations. Some of my pants were too loose. I got rid of a lot of shoes that I don’t wear anymore. I already know I have two weddings next summer so I didn’t want to give away all my dress shoes. Whether I can walk in them will be another story altogether though! :lmao: Oh, and any pantyhose I found went straight into the donation bag, lol. Done with those.

I have a doctor’s appointment in Boston today. I hope I can fall asleep.

Have a good Wednesday, everyone! 🐥 This week seems like it’s going by fast already!

QOTD: How do you store your jewelry and do you go through it regularly to get rid of things?

I have a mish mash of storage things including a jewelry box DH built for me which I keep that out on my bureau. I also have several other boxes and a couple of travel bags where I keep a lot of my Disney jewelry, but what’s in them varies by season.

Truthfully I have too much and I don’t regularly sift through it at all. But I think I’m going to start.

I’m pretty sure I bought one of those large things that goes in the wall and holds jewelry, but I’m not sure if I’ll use it. It seems to hold a lot of necklaces and that’s not what I have the most of. With me, it’s bracelets and earrings, lol. And pins. So not sure something like that will work well for those. I may just keep what I have but cull through it.

Pea You sure are keeping busy! I hope your appt goes well today.
QOTD I do have a moderate amount of jewelry. Some I have in a jewelry box that I got as a child. I have some of my mother's old things that are precious to me in that. I have various necklace boxes and ring boxes in a dresser drawer for jewelry Chris gave me. And I have some costume stuff in the dresser drawer and on top of the jewelry box. I do go through it very occasionally and get rid of some minor things. But you make me realize I need to go through it again! But, first my sock drawer.

Good morning. It is 54 now with temps heading into the mid 70s again. After work I need to go to Market Basket. Then I talk with my NH friend for a bit. Then I am off to watch Kenny's kids for a couple of hours in the early evening.

Off to another busy day at work. Now at 30 hours a week! :) Have a good day.

Good morning. Chilly start to an 82 degree day, but full sun. Calling for rain tomorrow, I'm crossing my fingers

QOTD- I'm not a big jewelry person, never was. I have a few necklaces, 2 charm bracelets, a bunch of earrings, and several rings. They are all in a small dresser top jewelry box. I can't even remember the last time I opened it, lol

Heading out to errands very shortly. I love shopping early when it's quiet and not busy at all.

Have a good day everyone.

@Pea-n-Me Good luck at your appointment

Not a jewelry wearing person but I have a lot of rings. I've gotten rid of costume jewelry by letting the grands play with and take home. Not long ago oldest DD asked what I still had. She was busy telling me what she wanted so I gave her a few items.

I still have my mother's wedding rings. Occasionally I put them on a gold chain and wear them in her memory. They are for tiny fingers.

Have a hair appointment today. It's past time to get it cut!

Oh, I have the old style Disney charm bracelets in silver. They still tarnish even keeping them and the charms in boxes. Too much work! Should have bought gold and now I know why.

I just made one for next Wednesday.

Walmart is driving me crazy. I returned a pair of pajamas that didn't fit right, and then headed for the deli, while there was no line. I stopped to get a rotisserie chicken as they had just put them out. All of them were overcooked, so I passed on those for today. They have no bologna, no ham, and no rare roast beef. They tell me they're no longer going to carry any of them. Just carrying the expensive Prima Della brand of meats for the most part. Really, a deli that carries no bologna or ham? I'm not paying $12.97 a lb for lunch meat at Walmart! The only roast beef they had was a tiny little end piece, no where near rare, so I passed and went to Martins and got my lunch meats there.

I get to the U Scan and put my refrigerator bags on the end where the plastic bags are and start scanning and putting my stuff in the bags. Male employee, maybe 20 or so, comes over and snottily says "You can't do that. You're supposed to scan stuff and put it in plastic bags." I said "I have been using these bags forever and I intend to keep using them. I'm not carrying 50 plastic bags into the house when I can carry in 3 reusable ones." He goes "I'm telling you that you can't do it." My reply was "Go get the store manager and we'll see what I can or can't do."
Manager comes over and asks what the issue is. I tell him and he looks at the employee and says "Who told you that the customer can't use their own bags?" The guy mumbled something and the manager apologized to me and told me that of course I could use my own bags. It's bad enough that they took out any space to set your groceries down before scanning them (one little soda cooler is the only space before the register), and that you have to take everything out 1 at a time out of the carriage and scan it. They're not telling me how I can bag my groceries on top of it.

My bad knee is aching like crazy today, I hope it's because rain is in the forecast. It hurts to bend it, it hurts to walk on it, and of course trash day is a day late because of the holiday so I had to gather it all and take it down to the street.

Lynn, I hope your knee feels better soon. Weather can make it worse. Grocery stores seem to be getting stranger and stranger with not carrying items they used to and not even being apologetic about it. And the guy telling you that you cannot use your own bags is ridiculous. Where did he get that idea from? Stores encourage you to bring in your own reusable bags.

Good morning. It is 54 now with temps heading to the 70s. We do need rain as the grass is getting crunchy. I had such a busy work day yesterday I think I will take it easier today. I do like working just 6 hours and being done by 12:30. In family news, Kenny and his GF got engaged last night. I have my opinion about it about it. I talked with my NH friend yesterday and we discussed how I feel and she is so good to listen. I am grateful to have such a wonderful long time friend. She has really been there for me and we have been there for each other for so many years. A walk at the lake is in my future. I need to commune with nature!

Off to a hopefully less busy day at work. Have a nice day.

Maybe a leftover pandemic rule he got confused about? (There was a brief time when my local store employees weren't supposed to touch people's reusable bags - though you could still bag your own with them and they have long been back to encouraging reusable ones here.)

QOTD answer: My jewelry storage is a mish-mash. I have several small jewelry boxes instead of one big one, and I definitely need to go through it all and organize it better. I don't even wear jewelry (other than my wedding ring) very often, and should probably give a few things to my nieces.

It's 4:30am. I have been up all night. My roommate, R. Her boyfriend. Yes, you read that right. I have been told to be considerate by a nursing supervisor. Charge nurses, CNA's all agree this is ridiculous. They don't understand why R was ever moved in here. They are upset for me. Supposedly in the morning, she will be out of here. It's morning. She's still here :( Prayers all of you have enjoyed sleep. Hugs to all.

Good foggy morning. They say storms and showers this morning, but it looks more like the sun is trying to come out. We did have some showers last night around 9 but they didn't last long.

I haven't heard a word out of Summer since Monday, no idea if they are still at the beach or came home. I can see we're heading back to her only being in contact when she needs something, and that's not going to fly with me.

My knee feels better this morning, thankfully, but I'm going to baby it today just in case.

Have a good day everyone

The boyfriend should not be allowed to stay in room overnight unless it’s a private room.

Mona I am amazed that they let your roommate's boyfriend stay in the room. I hope your roommate has been transferred to a different room.

Good morning. It is warmer this morning at 63 and temps heading to 80. We are expecting rain this weekend which we need. Sunday is supposed to be much cooler. I have the water treatment system guy coming today. That should be interesting in what he recommends and the cost. Many people here do have systems but I am looking for salt free. Tomorrow morning I have a much needed hair cut appt.

Have a good day.

Good sunny morning. Despite a 10 minute downpour around 10 yesterday morning, there were no storms or rains as they predicted. Today is going to be sunny and86. Then dropping back down to mid 70's.

My knee was fine yesterday, until I walked outside to get something. I didn't bother with shoes, but when I walked out on the wet deck, somehow I slipped and fell. Banged both of my knees and my left elbow. My good knee was so stiff last night I couldn't even bend it, but this morning it's fine. I did ice it on and off yesterday so maybe that helped. I have bruises on both knees, but those will fade. I've never known that deck to be slippery unless we've had freezing rain in the winter, so no idea why that amount of rain we got made it slippery yesterday.

I got the riding mower out after dinner and gave the lawn a quick once over. I didn't bother with the other side of the driveway because my knees weren't up to walking with the other mower. That was the first time in 2 weeks I've had to mow. It's slowed down, won't have to mow many more times.

Summer made it home from OC at almost 8 last night after leaving there at 2. Said it was bumper to bumper traffic almost all of the way home. Lily and the people she took left an hour earlier, because they were at a different hotel and had an hour earlier check out time. She got caught in a bad storm and had to pull off the road until it passed.

I'm confused about Mona's roommate situation also. To my knowledge it's a nursing home/rehab center. Why would they allow a boyfriend to stay overnight in a non private room in the first place.

Have a good day

I am hiding in the activity room. A sympathetic charge nurse knows I am in here. I did, thank God, get a little more than 4 hours of sleep at least. R, my roommate, was brought back into the room at 2am. She had been in her boyfriend's room down the hall. A couple staff agreed that she should, especially at that point, been left in there.

I am not able to be in my room very long because R vapes and also smokes. Not in the room! Please do not misread. Outside. The issue is the vape has an extremely strong old food odor that can be smelled down the hallway. Literally as soon as R was brought back into our room, my throat became very dry and I began experiencing the effects of secondhand vapor smoke. Nurses here immediately understood and said they knew all about that from R. It's a little cool in here but its safe and healthier than my room

I was offered a move into a room in the loudest part of this facility. I was at in time in the room next door at 9ne time as was, I learned (not with me) R. R wants to move back over there. Her boyfriend wants her to move back over there because they have more privacy. The room she was suddenly moved from is only a few doors down. Perfect. Except admissions is claiming social services said R can't move back there because she is more challenging than others. Balance. Everyone else here has said hiw bs that is. Prayers she does move there later today.

I also am not willing to move into that room because of its layout. My room the bathroom is extremely accessible. In the other room there would be very little room for me to get inside. The one resident in their is A, a lady they put with ne briefly. Not Chinese speaking A but the A who is sort of mobile but has memory issues that create bathroom use trouble. R is not ambulatory. The bathroom setup does not matter to her.

There are no private rooms here. There is one elderly couple. These two should have their own room. R was told her boyfriend can't be in our room overnight. She obviously can still loudly call him and he can come visit anyway. Last night people gave up stopping him. She was told yesterday he could not longer stay overnight. He even came into the room three times yesterday afternoon when she was not in here to get things for her. He did appreciate a while ago, my telling him about the room I mentioned above. I heard him tell staff at the front desk his request for R.

E, from another station, wants to move. I have heard from many trusted people that she is quiet and not often in the room. I saw her walking briefly with my therapist J yesterday. She will be a much better fit for me. God willing that can work out. I just want peace and an odor free room!

The administration lady, J, who told me and my dad was first roommate here was quiet and 37 when in reality she cursed, watched shooting movies late at night, etc, and is more like 87, said yesterday social services decided R was a good balance. J refused again today to say who exactly said that in social services. Also I found out it was C, the administrator here, who approved R's sudden move to begin with. C sadly to.me has nit been professional or always kind. In fact a few weeks ago he was verbally abusive in front of my dad. Yes, an ombudsman knows this.

I am very grateful to God to have just gotten a positive update on an insurance request. I will call back later for final approval. I know many kind representatives are on my side as is the authorizing doctor of my current benefits. Prayers extra please. Thank you.

Have a fantastic Friday dear friends. I will check back in later.
