I am hiding in the activity room. A sympathetic charge nurse knows I am in here. I did, thank God, get a little more than 4 hours of sleep at least. R, my roommate, was brought back into the room at 2am. She had been in her boyfriend's room down the hall. A couple staff agreed that she should, especially at that point, been left in there.
I am not able to be in my room very long because R vapes and also smokes. Not in the room! Please do not misread. Outside. The issue is the vape has an extremely strong old food odor that can be smelled down the hallway. Literally as soon as R was brought back into our room, my throat became very dry and I began experiencing the effects of secondhand vapor smoke. Nurses here immediately understood and said they knew all about that from R. It's a little cool in here but its safe and healthier than my room
I was offered a move into a room in the loudest part of this facility. I was at in time in the room next door at 9ne time as was, I learned (not with me) R. R wants to move back over there. Her boyfriend wants her to move back over there because they have more privacy. The room she was suddenly moved from is only a few doors down. Perfect. Except admissions is claiming social services said R can't move back there because she is more challenging than others. Balance. Everyone else here has said hiw bs that is. Prayers she does move there later today.
I also am not willing to move into that room because of its layout. My room the bathroom is extremely accessible. In the other room there would be very little room for me to get inside. The one resident in their is A, a lady they put with ne briefly. Not Chinese speaking A but the A who is sort of mobile but has memory issues that create bathroom use trouble. R is not ambulatory. The bathroom setup does not matter to her.
There are no private rooms here. There is one elderly couple. These two should have their own room. R was told her boyfriend can't be in our room overnight. She obviously can still loudly call him and he can come visit anyway. Last night people gave up stopping him. She was told yesterday he could not longer stay overnight. He even came into the room three times yesterday afternoon when she was not in here to get things for her. He did appreciate a while ago, my telling him about the room I mentioned above. I heard him tell staff at the front desk his request for R.
E, from another station, wants to move. I have heard from many trusted people that she is quiet and not often in the room. I saw her walking briefly with my therapist J yesterday. She will be a much better fit for me. God willing that can work out. I just want peace and an odor free room!
The administration lady, J, who told me and my dad was first roommate here was quiet and 37 when in reality she cursed, watched shooting movies late at night, etc, and is more like 87, said yesterday social services decided R was a good balance. J refused again today to say who exactly said that in social services. Also I found out it was C, the administrator here, who approved R's sudden move to begin with. C sadly to.me has nit been professional or always kind. In fact a few weeks ago he was verbally abusive in front of my dad. Yes, an ombudsman knows this.
I am very grateful to God to have just gotten a positive update on an insurance request. I will call back later for final approval. I know many kind representatives are on my side as is the authorizing doctor of my current benefits. Prayers extra please. Thank you.
Have a fantastic Friday dear friends. I will check back in later.
