Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

I'm just sitting here waiting for 12:15 so I can take DGD to her Gymnastics Spring Fling for parents. Long drive to Laurel, but DD is at the cousin's wedding at Va Tech and Sil is working a side job. This morning she sent me pics of many of them while they were having breakfast. All the kids are young adults with kids!

I'm instructed to take video and send pics of the gymnastics. She really didn't want to miss it as DGD is very good. Younger DD, not so much but she is not as athletic. She's at Va Tech with DD but will be babysat with a couple of other kids during the wedding.

The one glitch is I thought it was at 11am but it's at 1:30pm. Fortunately I hadn't started my drive and the mistake was caught. Still, I've not been productive this morning. Oh well, my painter guy was here all day yesterday and installed new base molding and quarter round in the little bedroom. Also replaced vents and will have the floor refinished once I do a bit of research.

He also replaced my tub spout in about 3 minutes. I had picked it up on one of my Lowe's trips, and then decided I needed a plumber. However, this guy gets stuff done. It's a generic replacement (diverter had gone wonky) to tide me over until I do a full bath remodel.

Nice to take a shower without the water going sideways!

DGD may need her 'high' ponytail tightened up. I had it perfect earlier but she's been laying back watching video.

Some great white's now have trackers on them. They seem to go up and down the coast and have been spotted (tracked) in Canadian waters (north) and southern waters as far as Key West.

I'll probably be in Ocean City sometime soon. Haven't reserved any rooms yet, so have to get cracking. After July 4th and before August so I can bring grands. They are headed to Colorado soon to be with their Grandpa. DD and DSil will fly out to get them.

He's got a busy summer as son and family are visiting him July 4th week.

@Pea-n-Me love the pool dog pics!

Gymnastics went well yesterday although I timed it a little close on travel. Got there with 7 minutes to spare! Traffic..

She had scores of 95 to 98 which appear to be good (I have no clue) but she was happy and received ribbons for 4 events, plus a medal on a ribbon placed around her neck as if she were in an Olympics, lol! All the kids got this, including one for younger DGD who wasn't there.

Judique Glad gymnastics went well.

Pea Love the dog pics.

Good morning. Cool here at 53 but heading to 80 today. I went to Market Basket and took a walk. I will be heading to Jeff's this morning. The girls have a birthday party so Jeff, the boys, and I may head to the playground. Owen enjoyed the birthday party yesterday. Kenny brought Ethan to the place after baseball to play video games so he did not feel left out. Owen is quite a feisty kid when with his friends. Interesting to see. I had dinner with them. Kenny got a blackstone grill so he did hibachi for dinner.

Have a nice Sunday.

Good Sunday morning. We have half clouds, half sun, and it's only going to be 72 here today. Cooler all week, with temps in upper 70's and low 80's
Dave was here for a few hours yesterday. He got the gutter on the house where the tree had damaged a section. Got the gutter up on the back of the shed, and put the door sweep on. Hopefully that stops rain from getting in under the door when its pouring. He can't figure out how it's getting in there, but this should stop it. He started up the riding mower and took it out so he could unhook the discharge chute. I don't know why they didn't take it off when I bought the mower, because I had them put a mulching blade on and the discharge chute was worthless, it was just in the way. While he did that I got out the leafblower and blew all the dirt out of the shed. Then we sat on the deck drinking some lemonade and he told me stories about his vacation at WDW.
He also measured for the section of drip edge he has to replace on the roof. He'll get that this week when he goes to PA to pick up metal for another roof job he has. I think the drip edge is the last thing on my 'to do' list for him. I'm sure he's glad, but I'll have to find more things that need to be done, so he doesn't get bored, lol

I checked the garden, a few of my tomato plants have flowers on them, making me happy.

Off to find something to do. Have a nice day.

Same weather here as @Snowysmom. The cats had me out early, so I cleaned up one side of a small, neglected flower bed before it got too hot. Will try to get the other side done in the next couple of days, then figure out what to put there. (I am not good with follow-up care, so definitely something easy. )

One side down....one to go.

And a bonus pic entitled "why my bed still isn't made at 11 o'clock" ~

DH is doing some Lodge stuff and DS has to work this afternoon, so I will probably do laundry, and maybe watch a movie.

Such a cute Pooh picture dear Lynn. Hooray extra for all kids and always cheering for all of you who love them. I was so blessed to get 3 hours sleep this morning. Last couple nights have been longer in part due to time of month. Being graced with a longer period of sleep renews my belief and prayer that really my sleep cycle will normalize God willing once I am permanately recovered. Looking forward to watching online worship later. Have a grear rest of Sunday, friends.

Good morning. It is 65 now and heading to the 80s again today. Yesterday was a very warm one. I had lunch with Jeff, Sam, and Luke. Jeff was sitting with Sam and had to take Luke to the rest room so I moved over to be with Sam. When Jeff came back and he sat next to Sam, Sam insisted that Nana sit next to him. That was so cute. He did eat his mac and cheese with his hands so I had to dodge gooey cheese. We tried to get him to use his fork but he was not interested. We went to a playground and the kids had fun. It was so hot though. The girls had fun at their friends' party. Now I am back to waiting for my title copy. That is not fun. I may end up calling my attorney in a couple of days to see if he has any ideas on this issue. The kids claim I do not need to as I will get the copy but until I actually have the copy in my hands I am not happy. I am obsessed with this as I do need my car.

Busy week at work so off to work now. Have a good day.

Found a Black snake sleeping in my greenhouse this morning. I put off my cleanup until later so it could sleep some more. They are not dangerous and are good at eating unwelcome mice, etc.

Checked the buds on my daylilies and there are hundreds but also some animal has been eating them. Probably a deer or two. Last year they waited for the blooms.

Put some seed out and the cardinals came immediately along with sparrows and finch and others. I think they have lookouts and when they see me finish my coffee, put out a call. Hopefully the squirrels are still sleeping and the pigeons hold off a bit.

Good morning, everyone. ☀️

Around 80 expected here as well. Mosquito Ranger is scheduled to come today, and I have to go to the grocery store. Otherwise pretty quiet. Might do some decluttering.

@Snowysmom, I'm sure the paperwork will come, and sorry it's stressing you out.

@Judique, you were calmer than me with your little "guest". :rotfl2: I love the birds too.

@flyingdumbo127, wishing you better sleep!

Good Monday Morning! 🌞

I don't even remember if I posted on Friday, I was busy :scared:. We had a good-bye breakfast for one of my bosses who is switching departments. I organized everthing so I had to go pick up the food from our cetering department here at the hospital, and then set everything up. Then I left early to go to a friend's baby shower.🍼

Mia spent the night at my house Friday night. I was watching her Saturday moring so I figured it would be easier for her to sleep over. We had fun ☺️. I picked her up Friday night and we stopped at Kroger to get her some Teddy Grahms, apple slices, and juice. Saturday morning we were outsideat 8:30 so she could push her little stroller up and down the driveway. We headed to the park to swing and play on the slides 🛝. Came home for a snack of cheese cubes and goldfish. She took a great nap (so did I) and then ate lunch. I wanted to have her home before Bailey left for work at 5:00. We went out back to feed the goldfish and she saw a little car that I had for her. She wanted to ride in that so we took a walk with her in the car. I finally got her home at 4:30. I told Bailey that I was sorry I didn't have her home sooner but she said it fine since she was having fun.

Yesterday I had plans to work around the yard but I just couldn't get myself going. I slept until 9:00 am then fell asleep on the couch from 10-11 so I went back to bed until 1:30 😴! What the heck!!!! I was just so tired and sluggish all day, never got out to pull the weeds. I'll work on it after work during the week. Not tonight though, it's my library craft night.

That's about it. Have a great day!

Good morning. Going to be mostly cloudy all day, temps low 80's. I just got the grass cut before it gets warmer out there. I also ran the tiller between the rows in the garden. All my outside chores are done, I can work inside now.

Nothing new here, watched a movie called A Simple Favor on Netflix, it was okay, nothing great. I have to find a new series to watch. My friend is watching Bridgerton, but it's not my thing. I tried an episode of The Bear, but that wasn't for me either.

Off to get to inside cleaning.

Have a nice day

We had a nice weekend and got a lot done. Yard looks good, and it’s been so peaceful sitting out there. Saturday night we sat out front almost until dark! Pool was nice and we grilled steaks and ate outside last night. I’d made some of Mom’s potato salad. It was DD’s boyfriend’s first time having it and he enjoyed it. He was so happy to be outside as he’d worked all day inside. I’m loving my new outdoor table and chair set, it’s very comfortable.

We planted some hosta and lavender out front. DH replaced a couple of rose bushes that had died over the winter, and the rest seem like they are doing well with blooms evolving. Out back we planted some marigolds, they’re supposed to help keep mosquitos away. (I’d seen a hack on IG where you take an old Bundt pan and make the hole a little bigger, then it fits around the umbrella on your table as a planter, I’ll try to get some pics. We also have a plant holder on the wall.) And a big potted geranium that I like to have for my deck. Garden is done, and in another planter we planted some flower seeds that I’d gotten at a conference during nurse’s week, lol. We also have strawberries growing in our whiskey barrel.

@PollyannaMom We have a service for mosquitos [and ticks], too. The first year was unbelievable, we had almost none. But the past three seasons it seems like it hasn’t done much. DH says it’s because it’s been rainy, and it washes the stuff they spray all away. 😣 Ocean State Job Lot has a lot of mosquito products we stocked up on coils which we always used in the past and those seem to work pretty well. And we got yard spray for if we do want to sit outside, like on the porch or for dinner last night. (Still have to spray down my screened porch, it’s covered with pollen inside - hoping to do that later today.) They worked pretty well. Mosquitos are such a pain, though. I hate them!

Well a little while ago, DS dropped off their puppy for us to watch for two days while they go on a short trip. She is a ball of energy so I had to clean out Toto’s and Grady’s old crates - I have one up in our room and one in the living room, just so she’s not constantly jumping up and bothering the other dogs. She’ll get plenty of play time outside, too. I bought her her own dish set as I somehow think we’ll probably have her over quite a bit. DS came last week to fly and hang out and she came with him. We had dinner together just the four of us and it was so nice. This morning I was up early so I made two banana breads and gave DS one to take with them on their trip. (I remember DH’s family always doing that for us when we were first out of the house and going places.)

Enjoyed hearing about everyone’s plantings and yard work! @easyas123 Can’t wait to see your new pool!

Have a good Monday, everyone! 🐥

Good morning.

Another busy weekend and week ahead. Went to Ben's baseball game on Saturday and managed to fry my nose. I need to find a sunblock that works and then remember to use it. After the game I went to the Phillies game with my granddaughter and 2 of her friends. I asked her to hold the camera while I used the restroom and got a drink, They had some fun with the camera lol. saved 1.JPG
And a nicer picture of the three girls. My Ella is on the right. I refer to them as the Three Stooges or the Three Musketeers depending on the day. This was definitely the Stooges
saved 2.JPG

The Phillies won so that added to the fun.

Today Wyatt has a game against the other tournament team in his organization. I plan to go and support him since my daughter actually gave me the details. I know he likes me being there but he won't act it. Ben runs up and gives me the best hugs. he is the least interested in sports but the most affectionate of the 3 boys.

On a really positive note I am waiting on a rollator to be delivered for Jim. The PCP agrees he will be on it most likely for the rest of his life but it is a better alternative for his back as he can walk upright without the strain on his lower back. My mom is doing relatively OK, she has arthritis in her spine so will have issues off and on but is on a non narcotic med, she THINKS, to help her heal right now. I'm not so sure as she is complaining of brain fog.

School is almost done for the year and I need the vacation. Mikey graduates in one week. I still remember him walking off to school that first day. He was so little and I was so worried how things would go. At that point I was fairly certain he was Autistic and probably ADHD. Took a few years to get the confirmation and he did struggle, but he is doing OK now and looking forward to working for a bit and then going to college for Chemical Engineering. He loves Culinary Arts, but more as a hobby.

All the posts about gardens had me a contact grandson because the back still isn't done. To be fair the weather didn't cooperate for quite a few weekends in a row but I want the work done before I am dealing with 2 foot weeds again and I want a garden. He is supposed to come by this week so we can go order what we need for the 1st half of the project. He promised it will be done soon. I did tell him I have a project for next year. I want to repair my garden wall and build a lower wall around the lawn and put stone down OR I want to repair the wall and cement the lawn portion. I'm leaning towards stone and pavers with planters out front to attract the butterflies. I have a humongous Butterfly Bush that I love but it is getting really overgrown and a couple of small trees have cropped up on the area. I chopped them down as they were small but I have pulled up at least 6 saplings. The squirrels had some fun burying acorns last year.

Hope you all have a great day.

@easyas123 Can’t wait to see your new pool!

Well as luck would have it the last several days have been beautiful and we've got a lot of work done! Pouring concrete tomorrow...whew! It's been a long time since I tied rebar (I realize it isn't something most 50 year olds did as young girls - but I did on occasion!!!) Here's a photo from Saturday, almost all the rebar tied but before we graded out the yard.
Will start laying block (block walls vs. formed up in this case) next week. Ordering coping & tile tonight.

:wave:Good afternoon, friends with a hug. Dad and I got a perfect Boost delivery this afternoon from Ralphs. We are so grateful. Quiet otherwise. I've enjoyed reading about all of your yards and pools, too. Dad and I God willing one day should we be able to afford to move, would love a place with some private outdoor space for flowers and a picnic/outdoor table, too! :)

Hug dear Taz, lovely picture! Thank you for sharing.

Extra Grace of God, I found a physical therapy company that sounds ideal. The representative I spoke with, Tanner, was very nice and said I will be contacted by a therapist within 2-3 days. This is a nationwide company which to me gives it extra backing. I prefer not to publicly post the name. PM me if interested. Tanner did assure me all of the therapists have been licensed at least a year if not more. Most have their doctorate while others are still in school. Dad and I are also thankful that while their rate for us is expensive, it is cheaper than most others. Positive update indeed. Thank you all always for your extra prayers and love. I will keep you posted. Have a great evening everyone.

Happy Tuesday!:sunny:

Found us on page 2 this morning!😳

It's going to be hot today, 93 🥵. Evan texted me last night and said their AC went out. I offered my floor fans or the spare bedrooms. He said their ceiling fans are on high and the AC repair guy is coming today so he'll see what the timeline is for getting it fixed. Hopefully it's a quick fix today.🤞

Went to the library craft night yesterday. We made flags out of wine bottle corks. It was cute, my turned out pretty good so I'll hang it on my front door for 4th of July.🇺🇸

That's about all I have. Have a great day!
