Mona, I am so glad you have learned some things about your pain and foot problems and they are being addressed.

I’ve read some, and I know at least @Snowysmom has had a birthday, belated :cake:

I am unwell, hopefully just UTI and sinus infection, but Tom had a heart attack on Friday when I was in FL with girlfriends….we got home late on Saturday, I was too sick to visit him, but he should be coming home with a Life Vest ( pending insurance approval) today.

I am dizzy, very likely from my sinus infection because when my ears clear occasionally, I am better, so balance is being affected. Right now, I am resting, reading a book ( yesterday’s was The Hiding place by Corrie ten Boom, what a story, has anyone here read it?) doing puzzles. Am stressed out a bit, and mostly came to give Mona a :), and let you all know I think about you, and remember you all in my prayers.
That was sweet of you, bobbi. And sorry to hear about Tom, and you. (I’m sick too after just getting back.) Will he be able to have an ICD placed at some point?

Bobbi- So sorry to hear about Tom. Don came home with a life vest when they had to take an infected pacemaker out to let it heal. I hope Tom is on the mend quickly.

Tom went to our local hospital, and he was helicoptered to Atlantic Care in Galloway. There, they placed two stents in an artery. If more is needed I do not know at this time.

Sorry to hear Tom had to go through all that, but here's hoping things will be better soon.

It seems, yourself, me and Pea were all at Disney separately! I stayed at BWV BWview for 4 nights and then I drove to Hilton Head for a two night stay afterwards. New room at BW and old familiar at Hilton Head but a good stay at both.

I was lucky to come home healthy. Hope both you and Pea get well soon.

@Pea-n-Me

edit: My opinion only: flying is what is getting folks sick on these trips.

When I used to send flowers to my mom in another state, I went through a florist local to her. I would just order on the phone and pay by credit card. I liked being able to talk with them personally
I do the same - just google a local florist.

hmmm. two quotes, I musta done something wrong there.
I talked with Chris' cousin last night. Unfortunately he does not have good news about his cancer treatment.
I'm sorry to read that, how nice of you to keep in touch.
Anyone have an Ark?
Really!!! We have water everywhere in the yard & fields. It rained all day in our area but really came down hard in the evening.
I made the decision and bought my plane tickets for a solo day trip to Magic Kingdom!!!!! I can't believe I did it.
NICE! Traveling solo is great - don't hesitate to do it! Between you & me when I travel solo I love taking myself out for dinner with a good book ::yes::
She totally understands.
That's good, knowing you are free to accept or decline with no pressure for either decision is a good thing.
Still not feeling great.

Oh geez, that is terrible! I'm so sorry, but glad he got some medical attention. I've no real medical background - is it the sinus infection that keeps you from being able to visit him? I'm really, really sorry you couldn't be with him, that much be incredibly difficult.
Atlantic Care in Galloway
I grew up right up Rt. 40 in Woodstown!

Good day all - nothing new here to report. Foster dog went to her new home on Sunday morning. Just getting into those last 2 weeks or so before the holiday shut down trying to get a few (or more than a few ) things done and taken care of. I have a long day on Thursday overseeing two confined space training sessions. Friday afternoon acupuncture, which will be a nice way to end the week. Next week I'll be on the road at least 2 days, then a luncheon at the office on Friday. I'm bringing in lunch for everyone - they like to have these pot-luck get togethers but there is one gal who treats it as if she is filming a episode of Martha Stewart and she took up most of the morning preparing a turkey in the oven in the office kitchen, and then spend most of the afternoon holding court in the kitchen. I don't have that kind of patience to deal with that twice in a month, especially on a day that, if not working, folks would rather just be able to go home after lunch vs. this gal going around looking for accolades for whatever she cooked. To exhausting. Why yes...I have been channeling the Grinch, what makes you ask??!?!?!?!?

I did do something exciting yesterday. I made the decision and bought my plane tickets for a solo day trip to Magic Kingdom!!!!! I can't believe I did it. I can't even bring myself to eat alone in a restaurant and I decide to go to Disney alone. I'm nervous, scared and excited all rolled into one. I go on 1/16, fly out at 7:30 am and flight home leaves at 9:45 pm
Woohoo! :mickeyjum

Spaceman, my DD was nicknamed P too (Pea). That’s now part of my username! Son couldn’t say his long name, so he would proudly say, “I’m Me!”. Thanks for the memories. What do your kids do?
Love it! That is awesome how you created your user name. There was a thread recently asking ppl if they still like their user name and I am sure you still like yours as do I. You may even posted in that thread?

My oldest works for a prominent locally owned company and have been amazing as she deals with recovery from brain surgery. My other daughter has not been able to work for the last few months due to her endometriosis and now recovering from surgery. And the baby boy of the family is working for a privately held golf course and loves it for now. Looking to get into the trades in about 9 months. We both golf for free and has been a tremendous bonding time for us during Covid to now.

With the cost of living being so expensive in King County, WA they still all live at home and has been a blessing in disguise. They don't have the stress of rent, utilities etc during these difficult times.

Don't tell them, but I secretly love having them home with me and my wife 🙂

Very sorry to hear about you and Tom -- hoping for full and quick recoveries for you both.

The Hiding Place is a wonderful book! (Have you seen the movie?) Such an amazing woman, an amazing life, and an amazing testimony. A family friend was acquainted with Corrie Ten Boom and had great stories to tell. You might enjoy a virtual tour of the Ten Boom Museum (Corrie Ten Boom house): https://virtualtour.corrietenboom.com/

SpaceMan5 What a lovely tribute to your family. We can tell how much you love them and care about them.

@bobbiwoz Hope Tom is continuing to recover at home and you are feeling better.

Mona Hope you are continuing to make progress with your foot.

Footballmouse What an exciting day you will have in Disney. Trip report when you get back please.

Pea Beautiful picture of Grady. He is so handsome. So is Toto!

Good morning. The weather is turning colder now. It is 32 now and going into the low 40s which isn't too bad for this time of year. Wed it is supposed to only get around 34. Yesterday one of the women here who manages the phone list and plans alot of pot lucks at the club house emailed me to see if I got water in the basement. She suggested that I let one of the residents, who is working with the town, know about the pools of water on the ground after the rain etc. Then she said, we look out for each other and are there for each other. This is why I like this community. Everyone is working together.

I have a physical on Friday with my relatively new PCP. I get nervous days ahead of time and of course when I go in my BP is higher than usual. She is a very understanding caring doctor so I am trying to keep my anxiety in check. I did salt therapy yesterday and meditated during it. I felt more relaxed and the salt helped my cold. My head really cleared out of all the junk in it. I feel like I can breathe freely again.

Off to work. Have a good day.

I have a 31 yo DD living with me and I also love it! Particularly love that she does most of the cooking! She could be living elsewhere as she has a decent job and is independent and perfectly able to support herself. She chooses to stay and I choose to have her stay.

The house is too lonely when either of us is away, despite our menagerie of cats and dog. And, I'm more enabled to stay here by having her here. If she left, I would seriously be considering some other living arrangements, such as @Snowysmom has done. But I'm also learning from her that not everything on the other side is greener, although I really hope her home improves substantially, or that something wonderful pops up for her.

Good morning.:goofy:

After work I just ran some errands. Had some returns for Amazon and Temu. Then I headed down to Evan's house to watch Mia 💗. We played when I got there and then I fed her dinner. Mac & cheese is messy for a little one so after dinner I took one of her new pair of jammies from her St. Nick stocking and put those on her, they had little sloths on them :lovestruc. After that we played a little more and then sat on the couch and watched a little bit of Miss Rachel on YouTube before Mia feel asleep on my lap.😴

Evan and Bailey used the gift card that I gave her for her birthday and went out for a nice dinner and then went to Top Golf to hit a few rounds. 🏌️‍♀️

Mitchell went to the doctor for another appointment. His knee looks pretty nasty from the road-rash but that just has to scab over and he said his ribs still hurt, nothing you can do for cracked ribs.😕

That's about it, guess I'll get back to work. Have a great day!

Good morning. Frosty start to what is supposed to be a sunny 50 degree day. I'll take it, but this weather is crazy!

I'm waiting for the sun to come out a bit, then I'll take the car full of trash down to the street for tomorrow. Once I see how big the pile is, I might try to get the rest of what's in the shed out there and be done with it.

I watched a cute movie on Disney+ last night, "Noelle", I needed something light hearted. I started watching Holiday Baking Championship, but switched over when the Barry Manilow Christmas Special started. He's still going at 80, which is amazing. I fell in love with his music way back in the 70's. My wish is to see him one more time live before he finally gives up performing, but whether that will happen remains to be seen.

Have to make my grocery list for tomorrow, I have errands to do. I paid the funeral home bill last week, and yesterday I got a check back from them. I went by the balance on the bill they had put in with the rest of the papers the day of the service, but the letter I got with the check, said they had made an error on the bill, in my favor, and sent me a check for $100. That was nice of them, as I never would have known. I didn't stop to add up all the figures myself, just went by what they had put down. I'm going to donate that $100 to the local Rescue Mission. Every little bit they get helps.

@Snowysmom It's nice that all of your neighbors are looking out for each other.

Have a great Tuesday everyone
