Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Thanks so much, I very much appreciate it! I actually just heard from the adoption coordinator and they've gotten 4 more applications in, 2 of which she said were excellent matches for him! We are giving it till the end of the week and then selecting from what we have gotten in.

Congrats on the truck and yay! for Henry!

Good afternoon friends,

We're waiting on someone, I pray, from maintenance to come and do something about a window leak. The water we thought this morning was coming in from the door is instead coming from the top of our big front window. I feel badly for dad because several of his books that we had on the bottom shelf of a three-shelf bookcase got wet. Hoping, of course, they dry out some at least. Would appreciate some dry prayers and good thoughts. The rain has stopped which is a blessing! Grateful for all in all and extra absolutely in this weather to have a home. This is a good reminder to check your doors and window seals!

I'll update later. Wishing all of you a good rest of the day.

Update is that Miguel is here from maintenance. It's not our window but from upstairs. Thankfully our neighbor, who often makes a lot of noise is home. Dad noticed our next-door neighbor also has a cup in her window, so it's sadly not only us but apparently all 5 of us with first floor apartments. Very thankful to God always, in all, and that it's still not raining either. More later to come. Thank you all for your kind prayers and listening.

Just got back from a ride in SIL's new truck. I was the first one she told about it, and the first person to get a ride. Really pretty truck, loaded with all the bell's and whistles, since it should be for the amount she paid. By the time she added on all the accessory packages, the rustproofing, the extra insurance from the dealer, it cost her almost $47,000. Yikes!
Off to figure out a quick dinner..thinking grilled bologna and cheese and tomato soup.

Have a nice evening

Good evening.

Worked at the church today but skipped yoga. Just didn't feel like I had the strenght even though I am feeling much better. Tree down and we are still working on boxing up the ornaments. This retirement has slowed us down.

I did fix chicken, rice, and a vegetable for dinner. Made turkey burgers for tomorrow and to freeze.

Oh no, did you finally catch what the rest of the family was sharing around? Hope you are feeling much better really soon!
I think I did. And thanks, it was a quick one.

I have decided that what gets done gets done and what doesn't, doesn't.
Good plan. I listen to The Holderness Family's podcasts. They say "I am doing the best that I can." I think that applies to you too.

guess what they told her--they prefer a certified cashiers check.
LOL! How did you keep from laughing.

I was told at one eye exam I had the beginnings of one
Yup, me too.

NCIS had a crossover last night between the 3 shows, I recorded that
I also recorded so I can fast forward commercials. Three hours is too long for that.

it cost her almost $47,000.
Wow! Thant's what I paid for my first house. $47,500 for a row house in 1982.

DH is cleaning up from dinner so I better pack some ornaments.

I do have a laptop, that I use outside when I am sitting on the porch swing. But in the house I rather sit here in the computer room and use the PC. It's much easier on my old eyes, lol!
I prefer a desktop also.
If anyone likes a cappella check out this version of an old favorite from Home Free.
I love Home Free!

@FlyingDumbo I hope you get the leak fixed. It sounds like some maintenance issues need to be fixed at your building.

Lynn Yikes, 47K for a truck? My first house cost 37,500. I would not be able to part with that much money for a vehicle.

Pea Glad your friend is coping well and that you had a nice dinner.

Easyas Nice to hear that your foster doggie has some good matches for him.

Another cold day with rain coming in tomorrow. I am tired of the rain but it could be snow so I will take it. I just hate missing my walks as they help with my anxiety. I am trying to be good about taking things one day at a time. Each night I go over what I will do the next day towards the move. Jeff is coming over this weekend to help me move a couple of things and to go over financials. I took off 3 hours this Friday and next Friday to have a little breathing room and not feel as rushed. My therapist appt went well yesterday. We discussed being a people pleaser when making decisions. I have been like this most of my life. I have to think of what I need and want first. Let's see how that works out! It is actually what got me into this condo and it was not the best idea.

My birth sister texted me yesterday to tell me her beloved dog had to be put to sleep. Her dog had a stroke. She was 13 or 14 but still, the loss is so much for her. I know my sister and her husband are hurting. The doggie traveled everywhere with them and was a big part of their lives.

Have a good day.

Good Wednesday morning!:cutie:

Crappy weather will be starting later today and into tomorrow.⛈️

Wasn't too hungry last night for dinner so I made myself a bowl of turtle soup and some crackers.

EasyAs - hopefully you foster pup can find his furever home soon.🐶

Just watched some YouTube vlogs last night and then switched over to the FBI series. I'll have to watch the later one today after work because I can't stay up past 10:00.😴

Not able to go to Evan's soccer game tonight, since my car isn't running correctly I don't want to drive it if I don't need to.:car:

Have a great day!

LOL! How did you keep from laughing.
I didn't !!! She laughed too when I reminded her that I had told her so.
Wow! Thant's what I paid for my first house. $47,500 for a row house in 1982.
Its more than what her and my BIL paid for their house about 20 years ago. It's the most money she's ever spent at one time. She used some of the money that was left after he passed last June.

Good morning. Hard frost overnight, temp was 22 when I got up. Sun is out now, so warming up to 42. Rain later tonight into tomorrow, or so they say.

Trash is out, Don is dressed, so I have to get moving and get myself ready to go out and do errands. Will check in again later.

Have a great morning

Well I need to edit that. Don was almost dressed, then said his leg was too sore today. He was afraid we would have an accident driving. I called my sister in law, who was thrilled to have an excuse to take me out in the new truck. She sent me a pic of it this morning when she looked out the window. She thought she was dreaming when she saw this parked in the driveway. --This is what $47+K will buy these days! They will be picking me up shortly. First stop is CVS to pick up the antibiotic Don's pcp sent in.

Good morning.

Been a quiet couple of days. That's always a good thing. Ella needed money for Volleyball so I gave her that. I helped with Jay and baseball for many years so it wasn't a huge deal. She plans on playing for 2 community organizations as they play at different times and going to Volleyball camp again this summer. I don't know how she got so into the sport but I encourage sports for the kids. It's a great help for the real world as adults according to a study I read years ago in school. I also like her getting out and getting the exercise. She of course conned me into it by calling and starting the conversation with, "Grandmom who I love so much." I knew she was up to something. I told her that I planned on embarrassing her in Disney in June. When I told her how she responded, "I won't be embarrassed, I'll be the star!" I am planning on the Hoop de Doo Revue one night and want to have her included in the celebrations. I should have known that she will love that. She made me laugh so hard tears rolled down my face and I really needed the laugh. She finds out Friday if she gets into the magnet schools she applied to for admission for High School. I am on the fence about the one school. It is an excellent school, two of my brothers went there, but it is in a really bad neighborhood. The school district also changed the admission process so that neighborhood kids get priority. This school used to be nationally ranked and had high admission standards. All A's and B's, high standardized test scores - in the top 10% of the city, and recommendations from the school they attended. Sadly, with the new admission process they are doing a disservice to the kids, neighborhood and elite.

I was supposed to head to Downtown Philly today with my daughter. That was postponed because she is missing paperwork that was needed. We need to replace Crystal's Social Security card so she can get an ID. This is a lesson in futility. You need the card to get an ID and you need an ID to get the card. We need to jump through hoops, but we need Crystal to get an ID as she is over 18 and can't fly without it. Thankfully we have 5 months til we leave. I am HOPING that is enough time. My daughter is a bit unorganized.

Since my plans were changed I am working on backing up my pictures. Last night I dropped the external drive I found that had most, but not all, my pictures on it. I thought I was going to lose them a second time. Somehow I put the drive back together and it worked. I was thrilled.

Hope you all have a great day.

Out early this morning to take my friend back from dropping her car for her oil change. Then we went to get Panera breakfast and stopped at Aldi. I picked up a washable runner for one of my doorways. The old cat, almost 15 years old, christened my old one and I had to toss it (and clean the floor plus use a urine remover).

This one is thin and supposedly will fit in the washer. We will see. I would still use the spray and wash it twice. I just need something to catch the sand, little pebbles, dirt, as it comes through the door. I do have an outdoor mat on the outside but stuff still tracks in. Hate grit and it is what messes up hardwood floors.

I scoop the litter every day, but there are three male cats. One outside and 2 inside. The younger male wears a diaper so he's not the one. Diaper is because of peeing wherever, but his issue is crystals in his urine, but he'd probably mark as well. He tries to while wearing his diaper. I haven't got the heart to diaper the old guy. I did it one day and he let me, but he was not all that happy.

Old cat just seems to target the entrances. He seems okay otherwise.

Later on this afternoon, I'm taking my car for an oil change. I remembered to make the appointment when friend asked me for her ride. My shop is further away, so not worth getting a pickup, so I'll just wait for it. Friend offered to get me but 3pm is not lunchtime and it's more a bother than anything. I'll just sit and read for a bit or maybe walk for a bit while there.

@Judique , you are so good to your cats. We euthanized our first cat, Candy, when we couldn’t come up with a solution to her peeing everywhere. Diapers were never mentioned. This was in the 1970’s. Snitz our other cat never developed that problem and he lived a long, long time.

This morning when I put on a 3/4 length black jacket, I wasn't so happy with them. I pulled it on and hurried out sort of in low light. On getting out of the car to go get breakfast I realized my coat was a mass of hair around the bottom. We had to work to make me presentable. I have another shorter jacket that I usually wear that doesn't catch the hair. I've spent the last 3 days deep cleaning and vacuuming so it was really annoying to see how much this jacket attracted.

We are back to that again, too, having a Shepherd in the house now. I didn’t miss it

And I had no idea that diapers for cats were a thing!
Speaking of cats, one of our MIA barn cats showed back up. So now we are back up to three, one black & two black & white...no idea who is who! Guess he/she was hanging out at a neighboring barn for the last year or two-or we inherited someone else's barn cat!

Well Option # 2 for wearing to youngest wedding arrived today. It's always hard for me, ordering petites w/o trying on. So I tried on the jacket - it fits good. Skirt does, too - but the whole get up makes me look a bit matronly to be frank. I'm not sure it's a great look for me. Option #1 is the green dress hanging in my closet, and Option#3 is heading back out to the mall this weekend.

Meanwhile my husband marched into Macy's, grabbed a jacket & slacks off the rack - tried them on because I made him!! - and it fit him to a T!

Eh - I'll find something eventually.

I know that you have probably mentioned it before but would you tell me what kind of truck this is. It looks like a cross between a SUV and a truck.
