Good morning.

I am also doing laundry this morning. Trying not to get huge full baskets and keep on top of it this time of year.

Doesn't seem to be icy out, just a cold rain and 34. Plan is to make a grocery list and go to the store after lunch. Also need to pay the property tax.

Watched Survivor last night, not happy with the winner, but oh well.
Once Nicole was eliminated, my favorite was gone. I was ok with the winner and plans for the winnings. All of the contestants seemed to get along really well at the reunion. I had no idea Jesse had a PhD.
She asked him if she should go to the ER. He told her no, that they couldn't, wouldn't do anything,,and that she needs to stop running to the ER for every little thing, that ER's are for emergencies, lol!
Good for the doctor, not that it will do any good. :rotfl:

Good morning...Miss Dolly and I were up early this morning. Well she was up early and I had to get up to join her...lol When both DH and DD were off work, I went to get dog food, did my mall pickup and stopped at Big Lots to see if anything caught my eye. DH fell asleep on the couch and Dolly joined him and then went to bed with me when I was ready so I think that's why she was up earlier than she has been. She's sitting on her dog bed enjoying a new chew toy I got her yesterday when I got the dog food while I watch White Christmas.

Did some online shopping for my dad last night, DD and I are planning Target this evening to get some of her shopping done so I'll see if there is anything I need from there. I want to make sure I have the gift shopping done by the end of the weekend. Not much left, I just don't feel as inspired as I usually do...lol

Hope you all have a great day.

Good Morning everyone from chilly LA,

Dad is off on a busier shopping trip this morning. He will also be dropping off a bunch of stuff at church. Glenda, God Bless her, was able to get us the cocoa and a box of granola+ a package a of chewy bars for me to gift to my dad for Christmas. I was extra thankful for that.

Carol, 🙏 that your mammogram appointment went well and of course for all-clear results from it as well! Dollar Spot at Target was always fun to browse in. Michael’s used to have a long dollar aisle, too. I hope you did enjoy your Nathan’s 🍟 They do seem popular among our Quacker family.

:grouphug:to you with extra love and cheer, Taz! I am so sorry, my friend. Please take care! 🌼Absolutely we are praying for both you and your mom.

Good morning to you, too, Easyas! :flower3:

Be careful out in that wintry weather ❄️Lynn! Please stay safe. Many continuing 🙏 for healing all-around and brighter days ahead for Summer. LOL, should you and Don get a new table may it be a place of many happy meals.
Hug, Judique, :dogdance: can be quite temperamental at times in their ways. They sure do bring us joy. prayers! Always YOU 🙏my friend, you know that.

AuntieMe3, pre Covid, I did enjoy going to Big Lots. They often had seasonal tablecloths among other things for $4. Have fun browsing and 🛍️there and at Target. Paws and a hug to Miss Dolly. I have forgotten to share that Dolly was a nickname for my grandma by some.

Have a wonderful Thursday, everyone. Please do take good care out there! I will check in later.

Good Afternoon.

Dreary weather here. Above freezing but a heavy freezing rain. I ran out and got some more baking supplies for next week before the weather got nasty. I don't know if any of you have ever heard of Lidl, it's a German based grocery. We had one open in the area about a year ago. I like some of the things they carry so go there every now and then. They have butter on sale this week for $2.00 a pound. I grabbed the limit of 6 pounds. I may put the app in Jim's phone and get 6 more. I also got a few more things for Mikey for next week. He is making peppermint truffles and wanted something to coat them with. I found a bag of Andes creme de menthe pieces so I hope they will work for him. Of course the heavy cream was costly and he needed 2 quarts. I don't mind though because I really want to encourage his baking and cooking skills. I am hoping he may see that this is a good career choice for him. Secretly I would love for him to get into something with baking, it would make him the 5th generation in my family. My grandfather was an awesome baker and several of his brothers made a cake for the Bicentennial here in Philly.

I am actually just about finished with my Christmas shopping and have even wrapped everything. Usually, I am trying to get done on Christmas Eve. The table I bought for the living room was the perfect place to put all the wrapped gifts. The family is getting older, so gifts are getting smaller and more expensive.

I chatted with my mom and she is in some discomfort and having a hard time breathing as the bandages cover half of her nose, but she is tough. I appreciate the well wishes.

Oh well I am taking it easy for the rest of the day. I made some sausage in sauce yesterday so there is enough left for dinner tonight. I bought a couple of small crusty rolls to go with the spaghetti.

Have a nice rest of the day and stay safe those in the way of this weather.

It's cold, raining and generally gloomy here. Will make turkey soup for dinner this evening, keeping it simple because we have some indoor chores to take care of. I was out & about at mid day taking care of some errands and grabbed a turkey breast that will make up part of our holiday lunch with the new in-laws on Sunday. I need to sit down and write down a list and get going on all that prep. And finish decorating. And clean. And finish Christmas shopping. I think I'm about to be frantically trying to get everything in & done in the next several days!

We have one about 25 minutes up the road from us, across from the Aldi :P . I've only been in it a time or two, but I like it much better than Aldi When we were in Passau last month there was one across the street from us (we like going in the grocery stores in different countries!) but we never had the chance to check it out and see how it compares to the one we have here stateside.
bag of Andes creme de menthe pieces
I grabbed a bag of those as well, mine are going on top? or inside? of some brownies as part of dessert on Sunday. I haven't decided on which would be better.

Its 34 out, but now it's snowing.
This is so sad. We have this weird 1 story apartment bldg across the street with 3 different tenants. The one on this end we always called Motorcycle Dude, because he would ride his motorcycle non stop all summer. He has a truck, an SUV, a cadillac and the bike. We heard sirens a little while ago, and I noticed flashing lights outside the living room window. There was a fire truck, 2 ambulances, 3 state troopers, the fire chief, and 2 other cars. Someone got out of one of the cars and had to use an axe to break in the back door. Apparently they found him deceased inside. He has always had a pinkish light on in his living room, which I notice when I go to bed. I noticed the last 2 nights that it wasn't on, and the house was dark. I think he passed away a couple of days ago. One of his sons must have asked for a wellness check and they found him. His son, and daughter in law and granddaughter are here now, but they won't let any of them go inside. They are waiting for the funeral home now. He retired from the railroad a couple of years ago, so he couldn't have been more than maybe 55 or so. So sad, this close to Christmas. :( If you could spare a prayer for his family, they could use it.

@TazDev You are very busy lately. So nice of you to encourage your DGS to bake. It sounds like he has a talent for it. I hope your mother feels better soon and can get the bandages off.

In the I can't catch a break lately news, last night I broke a tooth while flossing. Yep, a chunk of tooth came off with the floss. I was so upset I just yelled at the cosmos to ask them to just leave me alone and stop sending me crap. If any one heard me they now think I am a lunatic. I called the dentist today right when they opened at 8 and thankfully they could see me at 11:20. So I went from my work office to the dentist's office. He offered me 2 options: He could just do a filling but he said the tooth would most likely break more soon. Or he could do a crown. So, crown won. He is able to do the whole procedure in the office in about 60-90 minutes. I was out of his office by 12:45. He didn't have any other patients probably because no one does elective dental work during the holidays. So, I am grateful and thankful I could be seen and treated. But, the cosmos does really need to be kinder to me. I did thank everyone I prayed to this morning to help me. They came through for me and I appreciate it.

Older DS has his first court date tomorrow. I am very apprehensive about it. He is too. I asked him to call me right afterwards. If you could send a few prayers his way I would appreciate it.

Rainy day expected tomorrow. I just need to go to Market Basket for a few items after work so I hope it is rain and not too much.

Have a good evening.

Oh that is sad. I hope the family gets closure.

Good vibes going out for you & home. I hope the courts treat him equally & fairly in all things to come, as he should be and as he is entitled to.

Good afternoon.

Grocery shopping done. I wanted to cook a turkey for Christmas because I didn't at Thanksgiving and we like the leftovers. I usually do all my shopping at Food Lion. They only had Butterball turkeys and I was not paying $2.69 a pound. And they didn't have any stuffing either. Got everything else to brine and roast the turkey, plus the ingredients for the sides, hoping I would find one. Went to Redners and found a much more reasonably prices Jenni O turkey and the stuffing mix. I usually get Pepperidge Farms but settled for their Arnolds. I know I'll have to shop again but got the brunt of it done. I am having dinner Christmas Eve for Andrew, Jen, and Marty. Then taking a casserole to brunch at Sarah's house. Then back home for turkey dinner here.

I don't know if any of you have ever heard of Lidl
There is one in Middletown near Sarah. I like the cup holder on the cart.
We have one about 25 minutes up the road from us, across from the Aldi
I bet it's the same one.

@Snowysmom , Too bad about your tooth but great that it could be fixed so quickly. 🙏 for your son tomorrow.

@lynxstch So sad about your neighbor.

Good afternoon from me, too!

Dad, thank God, is safely long home. He did get everything from Glenda, God Bless her truly she is such a good friend. He also got us a nice Merry Christmas wall sign and wrapping paper both at 60% off. Reminder, that Michael's offers a 10% off senior discount daily including on sale items. He was able to use that additional discount, too. One offer per purchase so this would not have worked in combination with a regular 40% off coupon. All savings are sure appreciated! The Dollar Tree he went to was terrible it sounded like. Crowded without much of anything in the store. This is a smaller Dollar Tree that pre Covid was nicer than it has become. Sad to see even discounted stores becoming more barren. Extra gratitude to God, of course, for what we truly need and are able to get. No complaints ever!

:grouphug:Taz with continuing prayers of healing and 🕊️to you and your mom! Andes mints were a candy that dad and I did enjoy many years ago. I remember that along with my grandparents, we would each get one for 5 or ten cents after dining out back in the days when restaurants sold candy at the register. Good memory. Becoming a baker would be a wonderful career for Mikey along with a way to extend your grandfather's legacy. I love that he enjoyed baking.

Easyas, Andes in brownies sounds so very tasty, yum! Enjoy that treat should you ever try it and lol send me one, please. 🛍️ and decoration extra good wishes to you along with prayers for a nice celebration with your in-laws.

🙏🕊️and then some to that family indeed, Lynn! How truly tragic and sad :(

Big :grouphug:Snowysmom and I am so grateful your dentist did take care of you right away. Of course, you know, I am so sorry you needed to rush to see him! Prayers absolutely for son tomorrow.

A brunch sounds like a lot of fun, Carol. I hope it will be!

Rainy morning here, around 40 so a cold rain. No walking today. My good friend asked me to lunch so after work I will meet her. I need the distraction today. I asked my DS to call me once he gets out of court. They don't have a time. People just show up and get called in case by case. I hope he doesn't have to wait long. I just pray he gets a good judge who looks at both sides of the issues.

I remember Andes candies. They do make a good kind of frosting for baked goods.

Have a good day.

Still wet out but not actually raining. I'm going to try to get out today and do some stuff.

Xmas dinner is still up in the air. We have invitations which I've tentatively accepted. I'm not sure how this will go yet.

Unlike many of you I'm fighting the urge to cook a lot of stuff. I end up eating too much and that's not good. Trying to balance having choices and not having too much food around.

Today I have to get to Lowes and Staples. And probably Kohl's to pick up some Amazon gift cards as I have Chase offers of 20% off at Kohl's.

Hope all have a wonderful day!

Good morning! Recovering from my shifts this week. Tired, and have a headache, which I think is caffeine withdrawal, lol. Right now Toto is keeping my legs nice and warm, but I have to get up soon, I have a lot to do today. DD is bringing me coffee and a bagel on her way home, waiting for that. One thing I have to do is mail off a package to WDW that has our tree, decorations for our resort room, and a few small gifts.🎄We are packing light, and I have to get started with that in the next day or two, too, as I am working next week. Using days off as opposed to vacation days so I’m working right before and after trip. (Thankfully have vacation time in January.) I hope we don’t get sick! And I am stressing a little about flying in stormy weather, ugh! I hate to fly as it is! (First world problems.)

Got most of my shopping done, I think. Thank you for your help with ideas for our patient. Yesterday I wound up getting some sugar free gum, two nail polishes, some cuticle cream and other things to do nails with, some hot cocoa, and adding a puzzle book (which I had actually previously picked up for one of DD’s patients, but she went home). Another nurse is putting it all together.

Said prayers for all of you who asked. Sorry to hear about medical and other issues and oh boy to Motorcycle Guy, Lynn. I hope your son is doing better, PollyannaMom. And hope things go smoothly today in court, Snowysmom. Glad Miss Dolly is fitting right in to her new home Auntie! So glad! Keeping all of you in prayer. If you could keep my son in prayer, too, I’d appreciate it. It’s looking good for a job prospect for him in his field. His current boss is recommending him for a position so we’ll see how it goes.🤞🏻People can be so nice, boss has gone out of his way and is working with him today on developing a good cover letter. He says it’s killing him to let him go, but he knows he wants to get started in his career choice. I want to thank him so much, but don’t want to interfere. Guess I will just have to pay it forward.

We had Stouffer’s Stuffed Peppers last night. We love those! Had a lot of groceries and stuff to put away so it was nice and easy. Made some broccoli to go with them. Tonight we have some garlic chicken marinating and I think we may use up the rest of the broccoli and maybe make either rice pilaf or scalloped potatoes (rice is sounding easier, lol).

DD showed me how to put the weather on the front of my phone when it lights up. It’s been amazingly helpful! I can just glance at my phone to see how I need to dress to go out now. I am hearing it’s been in the 60s in FL but supposedly is going up a bit to the 70s. I’ll take it. I probably have to bring a jacket. I have an old WDW one I like to wear down there.

Have a good day, everyone! 🐥

Good morning , it's foggy and 40 outside. Everything from yesterday is already melting.

@Snowysmom --thinking good thoughts for your son today
@Judique I am fighting the urge to make too much food also. I was thinking maybe making fudge and saltine toffee today, but trying to talk myself out of it. I don't need the calories, lol
@Pea-n-Me I am glad to hear you are starting to get ready for your trip. I hope it's a wonderful, stress free trip!

I have no set in stones plan for today. I need to clean both bathrooms, and I still have to look online and find everything we need for the bathroom remodel. I have already picked out the tub, sink, vanity, linen closet, and faucets for both the tub/shower and the sink. I have 2 wall tiles that I have picked out, I want to go and get a sample of each, and set it by the floor sample to keep walking by and looking at to see what I like. Then it's picking out a wall color. Don wants beige or gray (ick), but I am thinking a very light sage green. I would have gone with blue, but the kitchen is blue, and I don't want the same color again.Just hoping that everything is in stock at Lowes like it says they are. Dave will take care of the electrical and plumbing, and the wood stuff.

Have a nice morning everyone

Good morning.

Changed the towels and sheets and am washing the ones I took off now.

Watching Once Upon a Christmas Miracle now. Watched Catering Christmas before. Definitely in the Hallmark Movie mode now.

May go to Baltimore for some shopping this afternoon.

I'm fighting the urge to cook a lot of stuff.

I am fighting the urge to make too much food also.
Not me. I want left over turkey. And we are making our 4th kind of Christmas cookies.

Good afternoon :)

Dad is safely long home from morning laundry and shopping. I am always extra thankful to God on Fridays because dad generally (he will tomorrow) stays home on Saturdays. I am praying in general he will choose to go out less! He needs to get more rest. Still quite CA chilly here. I miss Summer, lol. No complaints truly, sincerely grateful for each day as is. Wishing each of you a happy and warm rest of Friday with love

I am so glad you enjoyed some fun yesterday, PollyannaMom! Continuing prayers for your son!

🙏also for your son today, Snowysmom. Hug, grateful to God for having your friend invite you to lunch. I hope you both enjoyed. Andes frosting sounds tasty. I never heard of that before, I don’t think.

Safe travels :car:today, Easyas and stay warm out there, too.

:grouphug:Judique. Maybe you could make a small amount of a few choices? Whatever you decide on, it will be made with much love and I’m sure appreciated by all present!

God Bless dear Toto, Pea, Grady, too, of course:dogdance: Praise extra to Him for bringing both pups into your life and vice versa. Prayers for you to feel better, get some rest, especially for your upcoming trip, along with indeed prayers for your son. Thank you again for your Christmas gift to your patient. She will be so touched!

Lynn, may you get the finishes and fixtures you most like for your bathroom 🛁remodel. Happy to hear Dave will be taking care of a lot of the installation work. Continuing prayers for Summer.

I’ll take some Christmas 🍪dear Carol! I need to look up Christmas movies for this weekend. I haven’t watched any for a while and miss doing so, thank you for the reminder.

Sun was out and melted the mess from yesterday. I just bought Don a kitchen table for Christmas, lol. I picked it out, so I hope he likes it. Got it on Overstock, on sale, and had a coupon.

Just talked to Summer., now she's threatening to stop taking all of her meds, saying they aren't doing any good. The kids are all driving her crazy, not one of them will do anything to help except Skylar, the oldest, and he's out of town all week for work. Don yelled at her again and told her to tell them to get off their *** and help, or there won't be anymore food cooked and put on the table.

We are having Barramundi for dinner tonite, with rice, and a salad. Will be the first time I try it. It's Australian Sea Bass, and it looks good, so I hope it tastes as good as it looks. Making a lemon basil sauce to go on top of it.

Have a nice evening

Happy Friday...

DD and I went out last night and did some shopping. It was nice, we haven't been out together for awhile. Then this morning, I took advantage of DH working from home and went to WalMart. I got all the stocking stuffers and bought all my baking supplies, I'll bake this weekend.

Im making rice krispie treats...my holiday/special occasion specialty...lol Also Choc chip cookies, double chocolate chip brownies, sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies and something else but I can't think of what it is right now...lol

I want to start wrapping tonight...I think I'm done shopping for now. I'm not seeing my brothers family until mid Jan so I may wait until after the New Year to get their stuff....my nephews just want gift cards and I get my brother and sister in law cozy pjs every year so I can get those anytime.

I need to figure out a white elephant gift for our family Christmas eve celebration. I got a really nice charcuterie board a couple months ago at Aldi. I actually both 3 of them because they were really nice for a great price and I thought they would make good gifts, which I havent done yet. LoL I'm thinking I should just use one for those...I just need to find a cheese knife set to go with it.

Spaghetti for dinner tonight but I'm really looking forward to DH making smash burgers tomorrow. Yum.

Hope you all have a great evening....
