@Pea-n-Me Love the bunny picture. We had lots of bunnies at the house. I have seen 2 so far here at the condo.
I am glad your SIL had a nice celebration of life for her DH. I am sure it was very emotional but nice for family and friends to remember him.

I think of Tina sometimes and some of the other earlier posters. I hope they are all well and enjoying life.

@lynxstch I do under the hypochondriac phenomenon. Chris was a big hypochondriac for almost everything and would go to the doctor if he was really nervous about it. Last doctor's visit he went on was May 2021 to the ENT for a bloody nose. He was very frantic about the bloody nose and had to get it checked out even though older DS told him it was nothing to worry about. Turns out it was nothing to worry about. The symptoms he should have been worried about he refused to go to the doctor for. To this day I do not understand why shortness of breath and racing heart and not being able to walk very far when previously you could were not issues to go see the doctor about. I asked him several times to go. I am flummoxed by this. He will have to tell me why when we are together again. I hope your SIL would go to the doctor for major symptoms and it sounds like she would.

My younger DS invited me to go the playground with him and the 3 grandkids. Baby Sam went visiting with mom. We had a great time running around and pushing the kids on the swings. Then we went to lunch at the local place that my friend and I go to frequently. Younger DS wanted to try their breakfast pot roast hash and eggs. He enjoyed it. The kids had chocolate chip pancakes. It was a nice time and I got to sit with my 2 DGDs. Younger DGD likes to be with me and hold my hand when we walk to the car.

Have a nice rest of the day.

Home from Lowes with 3 of the 4 doors. The other one I will have within 10 days. My handyman brought his sons car trailer, one of those ones that is closed in. Lowes tried overcharging me for 1 of the doors by $92, and I waited 35 min for a manager to sign for the adjustment. I had lost patience by then, and let them know it. I said if they didn't come right then and there,,I would return the other 3 doors, the 3 sets of handles/deadbolts, and the silicone and go to Home Depot (even though it's 45 miles away.) Funny how fast a manager appeared. I told them I wasn't waiting in the line of 12 customers that were there either. So she opened another register and did it. The manager that the guy in doors had called..was standing at the customer service desk, with his arms folded, doing nothing. I also lit into him. I am also going to report it to corporate. There is no excuse for that on a Sunday when it's busy. We got the doors into the shed until he can start putting them in. He has to have neck surgery on Sept 6, so he's trying to get everything done in 5 weeks. That means 4 doors for me, shed ramp , and gutters, and a bunch of other jobs for other people

Its dumping down rain, and we were both drenched by the time we got the doors into the trailer, got home and then put them in the shed. I had to change clothes I was so wet..lol

At least that's done and we will have 4 nice doors on the house for the first time since we've lived here. I also found out today,,that the inner door on the back door,,someone used an indoor door on it..no wonder it was starting to fall apart at the bottom..sheesh!

Oh no! I really pray you both are okay, Kirby! :hug:so thankful you did join us! I would absolutely love to meet you one day.

AuntieMe3, I love that you are a fellow CA Quacker. Now we just need Covid to be gone so we can meet!

Waving hi to you, PollyannaMom and your kitties, too :)

:grouphug:Pea and I also love the bunny picture.

Hooray for fun at the playground with your grandkids, Snowysmom. That brightened up my afternoon to read. I also pray Tina and Matt are okay. I do sometimes wonder why she suddenly vanished. If it is God's Will, we will hear from her again.

I am just grateful you are safely home, Lynn! Sorry about the poor service at Lowes :(

Quiet Sunday here. No mail ever did come yesterday. We are still expecting an Amazon package today.

Enjoy the rest of Sunday🌼

What a day. Just what a day.

DD who is in Alaska and was getting ready to get on a cruise, tested positive. Can't do the cruise, so not sure what the next steps are.

Meanwhile, her cat that lives with me started having loose BM with blood. He won't eat much and will see my vet tomorrow morning. I have a 2 tier cage so he has to stay in there right now as, well, he can leave a mess behind him. I put some pads and a litter box with just pads for him, and he's spotted a few pads today and yesterday. Plus drenched a few which is good.

Talked to DD and she asked can he come out of the cage for awhile. I said okay and he headed for upstairs to DD's bedroom and office area. Soon, no one can find him and for 2 hours we searched for that cat. When sick a cat will hide. We finally found him on the bottom shelf of a bookcase in DD's office, behind some books. He was definitely trying to hide, so back in the cage, at least til he can see the Vet and we get treatment or advice.

Yesterday I went to son in law's to eat dinner and pick up my DGD's. Lots of good food! Crabs, chicken, steak, sausage and hotdogs. Grilled veggies, corn, squash and pineapple, rice, and a tomato relish. Strawberry shortcake and Oreo cheesecake. One friend's wife does catering and did all the food. She even made some non alcoholic drink combos like blueberry and hibiscus, which tasted very good.

I arrived at 4:30 as directed and as soon as I got there felt nauseous and dizzy, so I found a quiet spot and chilled for about 2 hours. (Napped) Before driving up there I had worked in the yard of and on all day from 8ish until 3, going in and out and I did eat some food, but not much. I took a shower at 3 and thought about having DD go get the girls but figured I was okay. I think the sun and not much food sort of dehydrated me. I felt better and was able to eat a bit before bringing the girls back home with me.

Searching for the cat did me in today. We searched top to bottom and couldn't find him until we started to actually move the bookcase to look behind it. That's when he ran out. The bookcase is recessed with some space behind it and we were thinking he must have squeezed back there some way. But no, he just plopped down behind a few books.

DD burst out crying after he came out of his hiding space. She was worried he was going to die before we found him. He's not that far along, and will probably be fine but she loves him a lot.

Now I need another nap. And my laptop has a little umbrella emoji and says rain coming in my task bar. Fine with me, I've been so busy chasing cats and kids, I'll sleep right through it.

Good Monday morning :surfweb:.

Yesterday I stopped down to Ds1's new house šŸ”. It was cute, backyard is very big. Met 2 of his neighbors already. They showed me some of the updates they want to do. The 3 of us met Ds3 & the girlfriend for dinner.

Didn't do much else, that took up most of the day. I have a work out scheduled for later today so I need to get myself moving because I'm tired.😓

I thought you guys might think this picture is funny. My sister sent me this of my little great nephew with Miss Miller. Notice how she has her paws on the dashboard, he must have taken her on a wild ride in the driveway.

It's a payroll day so I should probably get to work. Have a great day!

Morning all.

@Judique When it rains, it pours, eh? Hope the kitty starts doing better, and your DD too.

@lynxstch What a mess with the doors! We found Lowe's better (for us) when it came to our washer and dryer purchase, but Home Depot for the little stuff. It really depends on the location.

@Snowysmom DH goes to the doctor a lot, but if I mention something to him that should be checked, he just blows it off. IDK why he does that; is it a guy thing or something? Grandbaby time is the best!

@AuntieMe3 glad y'all are testing negative now!

@Kirby I'm right there with your husband; cedar makes me sneeze uncontrollably. Pollen too; wet grass gives me a rash (but not dry grass...weird, right?). Bees are my bane and the one thing I have an epipen for; but I also have an allergic reaction to some spider and fireant bites. The last time I was bitten by a fireant, it was one single ant, on my big toe, but my entire leg from the knee down swelled up and got a bad rash. I avoid them as much as possible, lol; those and wasps are automatic kills anywhere near me; I'll let bees live, as long as they aren't actively trying to attack me, and spiders can live outside the house, but not inside. /shudder

DH and I managed a 20 minute walk this am, before we had to head back so he could get ready for work. I won't walk in the dark by myself, so that ended the walk for me; ah well, 20 minutes is better than zero! I went ahead and mopped the main living areas, since I was up; I need to do the bathrooms and bedrooms still, but that is for tomorrow. I need to wash bedding today, as I did not do it over the weekend...was just too busy figuring out trip stuff; also need to wash all the new stuff I bought for me. I got 3 sundresses...the last time I wore any sort of dress or skirt was a few years ago for DD#2's BFF's wedding, and before that, was DD#2's wedding!

I also put in a reimbursement request (well, 3) to our HSA this morning, for all the medical stuff I picked up for our trip; almost $200 in stuff. 😲 I had to replace some stuff in our first aid kit, and get more masks anyways. Hopefully they get the reimbursement through quickly; when I did one in February, it was through in less than a week.

Yesterday was lazy day for cooking; I brought home Panda Express for lunch, and the guys had Totinos pizzas for dinner; I had my leftover PE. Today, the goal is making some brownies and dinner is cornbread stuffing stuffed pork chops, scalloped potatoes, more stuffing, and roasted veggies. Tomorrow is Zataran's jambalaya made with ancho chile sausage, and salad.

Our area does a 'Kicks for Kids' drive before school, as well as a 'Fill the Bus' drive. The bus one is for school supplies....everything from pencils and crayons to backpacks and TI calculators; the kicks is for, well, shoes, for kids before school starts. The bus program has about 2K kids signed up, and the shoe one at 1400, but registrations had to close because they don't have enough. So, when I was out this weekend, I bought $100 in school supplies @ Target and another $200 in shoes @ Kohls (I got adult sized shoes for teenagers, 3 pair of Converse Chuck Taylor for women, and 3 pairs of Converse Chuck Taylor hightops for men); it is tax free shopping week, so I did the Kohls shopping in 6 orders, so I could get the taxes off for each pair + Kohls let me use the 25% coupon for each one.) DH is dropping all of it off at lunch today, as there are drop-offs for both drives close to his work. At Christmas, there's another drive for toys; and none of these drives require any income or anything other than signing up, and showing up with your kids. The Christmas one means that the kids see their gifts, because they get to pick them out, but usually the people doing that sign up are also signing up for the Salvation Army or churches or other gift donations as well.

Oiy, I need to get moving. Have a good day all!

Good morning all! Happy August! 60 outside now, and even though they are calling for sunshine, humid and mid 80's later, right now it looks like it's going to pour again.
Neighbor gave me more zucchini last nite, so zucchini bread is definitely on the chore list for today. I had gotten everything out to make it yesterday, then the handyman called about going to get the doors. So it is still sitting on the stove waiting to use.
First I want to wash the floors, someone tracking little muddy cat paws on the floor. One of the outside cats, snuck in the door yesterday when I went out. She does that every now and then. But since I wasn't home, she was stuck in till I came home. I was surprised that none of the inside cats even noticed her, lol. I think she was hiding under the bench in the kitchen the whole time, at least that's where I spotted her as soon as I came in.

@Bianca and Bernard --I have had luck with washers and dryers at Lowes, not so much with refrigerators. We had bought a new Frigidaire about 4 years ago. Had trouble from day 1 and Frigidaire repairman said it wasn't something he could fix, that the fridge needed to be swapped out. It took me almost a month, and calling every single day, trying to get resolution. One day I finally got a lady in corporate, who was appalled at the whole thing. She told me to go and pick out whatever fridge I wanted, no matter if it cost more, and she would see that it was swapped out immediately. We didn't go crazy in our choice (did go with Maytag this time though), and even though it cost about $800 more than the Frigidaire had, it didn't cost us anything. And she made sure they threw in the extended warranty with no charge. I found out later, that the store manager was fired, that I wasn't the only customer it had happened to. And apparently they are also great for charging mor than the signs say. Our handyman bought about $5000 worth of flooring for houses he was working on , and when he got to the register, the price was almost $7000. Luckily he caught it before he paid, and made them fix it. Geez..how many other people don't pay attention to signs or their receipts?? :( Lowe's is really only the store we have, other than 2 small locally owned hardware stores, so it really doesn't pay me to drive to Home Depot for anything. Usually I just order online from there and have it delivered. Also, the comment you made to snowysmom about men and Drs..it's definitely a guy thing! Been there and done that too many times with Mr L~

Off to get my chores started, have a great day

Good morning everyone, hope you all had a good weekend. Ours was pretty chill, my BIL & SIL & their daughter came over for dinner last night, other than that not much happened! Youngest is off to another part of the state for the afternoon & evening today so we will have a very quiet evening tonight. Ok - time for my weekend catch up!
Sacred Heart school
I was born in Camden, and I've got a few relatives buried there. Cramer Hill was the old folks stomping grounds, RCA & Campbells where they worked! Rest of the folks from Moorestown/Riverton/Cinnaminson area.
Son in law is fixing crabs
We had crabs on Saturday, too! Husband & youngest caught a decent half bushel.
I am waiting for them to get to Alaska and Hawaii, I told them we want to go with them to Hawaii, but not Alaska
You should definitely go to Hawaii!
I do like being a proud supporter of messy hair and no makeup
Yup - I haven't worn makeup in FOREVER, I'm to lazy to remember to take it off and I end up looking like a racoon in the morning!
Joe is not doing well. He was dozing when we got there but he woke up and talked a bit.
I'm sorry to hear than, I'm sure the fact that you've got him moved into a facility that is catering to his comfort brings you a bit of peace.
It really sucks when your kids grow up and now have their own lives.
Tell me about it - our boys moved out and with them went our labor force ha ha! I cut several acres of grass every weekend, but I really miss the help with the weedwackers!

Wow is right - man, almost 600K folks have taken a look at this thread at one time or another, that's crazy!
Going to dry rub some ribs for dinner.
We haven't had ribs in forever & a day. I might have to pick some up -
My grandmother was a hypochondriac. Growing up, we couldn't tell her when we were/had been sick. She would get sick too, never enough to go to the doctor/hospital though.
My MIL is a hypochondriac as well. Whatever someone else gets diagnosed with, she mysteriously develops as well...I'm talking ADHD after a young grandson was diagnosed, Fibromyalgia, and my favorite - when she developed the exact same arm condition after another family member developed it. Then when she finally got Covid I don't think she'd be happier about having something to crow about. Of course, it was the worse case of Covid ever to have happened to anyone on the face of the earth...I could go on and on. Needless to say, no one mentions any medical stuff to her anymore because as soon as you do she nags you for all your symptoms/tests/issues/meds and then poof! Same thing happens to her. Coupled with her intense sense of Martyrdom and the unfortunate fact that we won't go to her house due to her hoarding, she's a real treat to deal with. My husband has a very limited relationship with his folks so we don't interact much. A few phone calls a year, maybe we see them once a year?
and now dog hair from the one who never stops shedding despite how much I brush him!
I dug out the furminator the other day and had a go on one of the dogs, it looked like someone had dumped out the contents of a pillow!
What a day. Just what a day.
Oh man, sounds terrible. I hope your daughter is feeling okay, that really sucks when your trip is essentially canceled last second and there is nothing you can do about it. I do hope her cat is doing okay.
A little rainy here for now but the sun is supposed to come out later
I think we are going to be expecting similar weather. It was spitting when I drove to the office, and it's very grey out now. We'll see what this afternoon brings. Looks like we are expecting - at least in MD - some hot hot hot weather this week.

Nothing special going on with me this week. I'm on the road Tuesday & Thursday. Wednesday evening I have a pedicure appt. This evening we are picking crabs and having leftovers for dinner. Oh! I forgot, I did make some crab mac & cheese yesterday for my son. We've got some of that leftover as well...hmmm I think I know what I'll have for lunch!

Vet appointment at 10:40am. Cat is doing better. He immediately started eating his breakfast and DD fed him last night and he ate most of both dishes.

He's still doing very soft poo. And it stinks to high heaven. I had to put a trash bag on my deck to take each pad out as they happen because I'm not using litter with him right now. I have a can out there anyway, but rarely does anything go in it. Hoping to keep the flies from getting in the bag since trash pickup is not until Friday.

Haven't talked to other DD since yesterday. SonIL was the one that told me her news and I think she was reluctant to tell me. I don't say 'I told you so' but kids seem to know that's what you are thinking, no matter how well you try to hide a certain disapproval. I knew she was testing as they found her luggage and delivered it, and she had packed some tests and had told me both that she was ill and intended to test as soon as the luggage arrived.

I felt 2 weeks was too long for her to be away this time (she travels somewhere every 4-8 weeks and is never without a planned trip) and had said so when she mentioned it. That didn't go over well, as she just stops discussing some things or selectively tells me what she wants me to hear on the moment. I rarely interfere, but sometimes I will speak my mind.

My timer is going off. Now I have to struggle orange cat into the carrier and get going.

Oh I have 10 more minutes! He went in the carrier very quickly and easily, but is now complaining loudly to get out. Oh well!

Been there done that! We put ours in the carrier and put a towel over the top. Never a sound until we get there, and then the yowling starts. How do they know? They can't even see where they are, lol. If I have to take one to the vet, I always put the carrier on the floor in the kitchen the night before. They will , 1 at a time, go up to it, maybe climb in and look around, and then come out. Probably wondering which of them is going to be the 'lucky' one this time,,lol Hope your furbaby does well at the vets. Let us know~
Yeah for cooperation getting in at least! We know the struggle. :cat::cat:
For sure!

Happy August! May this new month ahead indeed be brighter for each of you 🐄🌼

We finally did get our Amazon package last night. Today we will see whether the 🐓 finally deliver the āœ‰ļøWe're also expecting a couple items from Walmart via FedEx 🚚 Today was the 3rd morning in a row that we got a most unwelcome spam call at 6:30am! I definitely prayed for whoever/whatever is calling to find a much more positive thing to do especially so early. Of course, how lovely it would be to stop being called so early. Seems the spam calls are increasing again around here. I truly hope that is not the case for all of you!

I'm glad you got your walk in, dear SnowysmomšŸš¶ā€ā™€ļøand in relatively comfortable weather, too. Prayers you have a peaceful week.
God Bless Patrick and Miss Miller, Footballmouse! šŸ‘¦and his:dogdance:are absolutely precious! What a great picture. I hope they had a lot of fun. Wishing them, and always you and the rest of your family, joy to come.

Kirby and B&B, I'm not allergic to cedar but don't like how it smells. I admit to not understanding the draw of cedar trunks either. I don't want my clothes especially (we use a free and clear detergent) to smell. šŸ™you do get reimbursement. I LOVE that your community participates in Kicks for Kids, what a fantastic program. I remember a church pastor sharing with me that years ago as part of her ministry she along with kids at church put together backpacks for other kids. I would love to be part of something like that.

Enjoy your zucchinišŸž Lynn. I sure hope you also have a cooler and brighter day!

Always good to hear from you, Easyas. Glad you got to spend some time with your son. Enjoy your šŸ¦€macaroni lunch.

:grouphug:Judique. Truly glad to hear your cat is doing better. Continued kitty prayer.

PollyannaMom, I hope your 🐈 let you sleep in this morning!

Have a great Monday, friends. I will check back later.

I hope the appt goes well @Judique!

I made three breads this morning - two banana and a blueberry, to use up the bananas and blueberries. Going to bring one to my neighbors who had to put their dog to sleep this weekend šŸ˜” (Toto’s friend), and one to my sister whose birthday it is, probably tomorrow. DD is writing a paper that is due tonight and wanted to take a ride with me so I’ll wait. I picked up my sister a bracelet that I think she’ll like. She is very ā€˜Covid-conscious’, shall we say, so she’ll be glad I’m not stopping by after work. 😱 Will still have to wear a mask unless we stay outside. And waiting to hear back from my brother with a couple of estate questions but I’m about to wrap that up this week, I hope. A new lawyer was assigned to the case (third one) and he’s the first to seem to actually care what’s going on, so I’ll strike while the iron is hot.

Just doing some house cleaning today, I noticed some cobwebs all of a sudden, it seems. Might hop in the pool if sweaty, before shower. Will take the dogs out later, but they ran around the yard today a couple of times already. Will take Toto with me for visit when I bring the bread over later. Believe it or not he was the same type of dog Toto is, which we didn’t realize when we first got Toto, as we groomed them with different styles. I saw a pillow on Amazon last night I might pick up for them, too, but it won’t be here till later in the week. Undecided on that, but at least we have the bread and I keep pet loss cards on hand.

Hope everyone is doing ok here. Keeping the prayers going! 🐄

PS B&B very generous of you to donate all those supplies and sneakers! Kudos! šŸ‘šŸ»

Sorry to hear about your friend's dog, Pea!

PollyannaMom, I hope your 🐈 let you sleep in this morning!
6:00-ish šŸ‘

Seems the spam calls are increasing again around here. I truly hope that is not the case for all of you!
Not so much the calls here, but the mail is out of control. We made some charitable donations a few months ago, and they all seemed to sell our contact info to everyone! But honestly, the more requests I get, the fewer I actually read. :sad2:
