Happy Monday. I am on a quick break from work. I can't really get my mind into work today. Most be the Monday blues! LOL!

I am feeling better after the flu shot. It must have been because it was the super duper shot. Or as my DS the doctor calls it, the geezer flu shot.

Still hoping your hot water gets fixed soon Mona.

Have a great day.

:hug:Lynn, that is such good news, my friend! I am so glad and grateful! Lol, I was indeed up earlier today. I did thankfully sleep well last night :)

Hugs, Snowymoms and Mondays can definitely be hard to get back into working--not fun!

Thank you both and everyone for your continued hot water prayers. There might be a worker in the laundry room now looking at it, not sure. I sure pray to have a good news update later!

Good morning all or afternoon for most of you, I guess....DH had to be at the airport(an hour away) first thing this morning so we were up and out the house by 3:30. Right before he hops out of the truck he I got home and tried to go back to sleep but knew DD would be waking up soon after to get ready for a job interview that she was super nervous about so I couldn't fall back asleep. She went to the interview and then I made us breakfast when she got home...she's not sure how it went but I'm hoping she gets an offer. It will be her first full time position with all the benefits and more pay per hour than she makes now...so fingers crossed.

I think I'm gonna take a nap now. LOL

so fingers crossed.

Good luck to her!

Good afternoon everyone. Hope you guys had a good weekend. We got a huge amount of stuff done, took us working all day long both Sat & Sunday. Eldest even climbed up on one of the barn roofs for us to caulk some leaks. I may or may not have over done it a bit and my back to telling me that now! I do have a bit of weeding to see to that I didn't get to this weekend this evening, but after that I've got a glass of wine & a soak in the hot tub waiting for me! My husband jokingly reminded me I am about 5 weeks from my 'favorite' day of the year - the end of daylight savings time, aka 'ok to put pajamas on when I get home from work because it's dark out' :lmao: There is just something about it being dark and getting cozy and settling in before the fireplace in the colder months. And considering we are outside when the sun is shining, I can't bring myself to do it any other time of the year!
We've got a family thing this weekend, and that is about all that is on the agenda. Last night husband made a bear loin for dinner, so I made...cheese on triscuits! I think dinner this evening will be grilled or sautéed chicken tenders over a salad, and the rest of the chicken will be for chicken soup on Tuesday evening. I've got a fair bit of crab meat in the freezer that we picked, and I'm thinking Friday we will have crab cakes.
It's absolutely beautiful outside here today, 78 & sunny. I went outside and sat in the sun at lunch, just soaking up some fresh air & Vitamin D.

Heart clinic appt went well.

Good to hear! Sounds like he is making good progress, I'm sure he was glad to get out of the house for a bit, too! I know I would!

I am feeling better after the flu shot

I had a appt. to get my flu shot this afternoon - but honestly, I'm just tired and don't really feel like going anyw
here might be a worker in the laundry room now looking at it, not sure.

I cannot wait for Disney.

Have fun! We are staying at WL again at the beginning of Feb for the first time in many years, looking forward to revisiting the resort. I'm looking forward to the break.

Sister in law spent almost 3 hours in the Keyser Walmart today

That Walmart in Keyser is the ONLY place my MIL goes, at all. She leaves her house once a week and goes there. I remember when that opened...big deal up there. Tried to get her to go into Martins when she's complained Walmart didn't have what she wanted - nope, refused.

Prayers for your DD, AuntieMe3! I hope she not only gets the job but truly will find the position rewarding. My friend, I hope you get some rest this afternoon!

:) Easyas and thank you for putting a bright twist on the upcoming time change. Longer cozy evenings are indeed a very good thing! I'm so glad you have a WDW trip to look forward to!

So very grateful here, dad had another very good doctor visit. We are so beyond blessed indeed by the Grace of God! Editing now o add even more good news which is the workers are currently installing a new hot water heater! Hopefully sometime this afternoon we should have hot water. I'll definitely report back when we do. Thank you all again for your prayers!

OK I just checked back to read what was posted and have no idea why I double posted this morning. I was on my phone and had lousy reception but still a mystery.

@FlyingDumbo 127 - hope the hot water situation is fixed. I am not a fan of cold showers, heating for cooking and the like can be done but I like my nice warm shower in the morning to wake me up.

@lynxstch - good news about your husband. I am so afraid of what my husbands meds will cost next year after we lose the city coverage. There is a good chance we can keep it to some extent when his loses the actual coverage so we shall see. That will be my mission next year.

Fairly quiet day here. We got to 80 with a cooler breeze. The colder weather is definitely headed this way. I made the mistake of watching a reality show about killer kids. Of course the one case touched home. about 18 years ago we had a murder take place of a young man in the neighborhood my daughter's best friend, she is my daughter from another mother, lived in. I was stunned to find out that I knew one of the boys killers. My daughters friend knew all of those involved from her neighborhood. The one boy had a crush on my daughter when he was about 13 and I met him a few times. He had a horrible home life and made a horrible decision but when I knew him he was a sweet, quiet kid.. I still get so sad when I think about it, so seeing the show just left me feeling down. I hate the sin but I cannot hate the sinner.

Sorry to be a downer but it really is surreal some times. I am off to try and get another bag of stuff to toss away together. That should help me feel a little better.

Hope everyone has a great afternoon.

Good evening.

Yesterday we went to church in the morning, then in the afternoon went to DD's house. DH had to listen to the last half of the Raven's game on the radio because they didn't get that game at their house. Luckily the winning field goal was shown everywhere last night.

We went to celebrate DSIL's birthday that is September 30. DD had a lot of cake from a friend's dinner the night before so I didn't bake. We got carry out from Crooked Hammock for dinner because that is what he chose. Eating out with the kids is less than relaxing.

Today I had PT, then paid the property taxes, got gas, and grocery shopped. DH is on a clear liquid diet today for a routine colonoscopy tomorrow. We have to be at the hospital at 6:45 am and I have to stay there during the procedure. I expect breakfast out is on the schedule.

@bobbiwoz, I hope you enjoy your new tricycle.

@flyingdumbo127, I hope your hot water is back by now.

@AuntieMe3, fingers crossed for your DD.

Right before he hops out of the truck he
I was so tired I forgot to finish my sentence... Anyway he said "I guess I could've just did long term parking since I'll be home in a few days and I can get reimbursed for it. You could have stayed home sleeping this morning..." I was like....:sad2: Thanks for thinking of that earlier. LOL It's ok. I didn't mind.
Good luck to her!
Prayers for your DD, AuntieMe3
Thank you and @Breezy_Carol too...she already got a call back message but she's at work now so she can't return the call until tomorrow morning since she doesn't get off until after the office closes. Not sure it's an offer or a call about another position/interview...either way she feels good about it.

Heart clinic appt went well. They did bloodwork and gave him a flu shot while we were in there, so he didn't have to risk the diagnostic center. She is going to have the Social Worker check on getting us some discounts on his 3 expensive meds. She said we should not have to be paying almost $1000 every 3 months for them, so I hope they can find something!
Glad the appt went well and I really hope they can get you a discount on his meds.

I am feeling better after the flu shot. It must have been because it was the super duper shot.
Glad you're feeling better. I was going to reply on your first post about not feeling well but got behind so just commenting now....this was the first year I've felt bad after the flu shot. I actually had to take a tylenol that night when I went to bed. Woke up feeling fine the next morning but it was strange for me and it wasn't the super duper shot. LOL

aka 'ok to put pajamas on when I get home from work because it's dark out'
My favoritething to do too.... love it. I got myself some nice new cozy pj pants a couple weeks back. It's still a little warm here so I haven't worn them yet but I can't wait until it's time.

even more good news which is the workers are currently installing a new hot water heater! Hopefully sometime this afternoon we should have hot water. I'll definitely report back when we do.
Yay....glad you didn't have to go as long as we did when we had water heater problems.

We had pizza last night so might just do leftovers tonight, I don't feel like cooking(seems like I never do anymore. LoL) Nail appt tomorrow morning and then I might take a drive up the mountain to a farmers market I've been wanting to go to all summer. Tomorrow's the last one of the season so we'll see if I make it...I can't even make it to our local one 5 mins away, so who knows...

Tired after some long shifts over the past few days. For a little while I had to sit with a 92 yr old patient with delirium who was having a tough time. Not my patient, so it was my first time meeting her. She reminded me a lot of my mother. And she couldn’t sit still. Very antsy wanting to pull everything out and off, etc. We talked a little bit and I asked her what kind of music she liked. She told me, “Jitterbug; Love Songs”, and something else I couldn’t hear. Remembering how we always used to leave 40s music on for my mother, and how much she loved it, I pulled some of those songs up on Spotify on my phone for her to listen to (starting with Louis Armstrong’s La Vie En Rose), and the smile and look of peace that came over her face actually made me cry. But in a good way. It was a nice moment.

I had a lovely man who’d had surgery and was also pretty confused, but in sort of a funny way. Me: “Do you know where you are?” Him:”Sure! We’re in Texas!” :P Despite that, he was so nice to me and kept trying to kiss my hand (so we held hands off and on instead). When the workload is tough, and there aren’t enough hands on deck, it’s so nice to have patients like this, and it helps me remember why I do it. I once took care of a priest who told me that when I’m having conversations with patients, “Jesus is there with me too”. I think of that a lot and it gives me peace, like I’m where I’m supposed to be. Don’t mean to get overly sentimental, but these days, these things are important to us whereas the workload is so especially tough. We also brought in food one shift and even though we were taking turns jumping up and down throwing masks back on and answering call lights while we were trying to eat it, it was nice to share a meal together, as brief as it was.

Chilling on the sofa tonight and can barely move, lol. Not in pain, just beat. DH took the day off today as he had a doctor’s appt, which went well. Toto also had a vet‘s appt so he took him to that for me so I could rest. He is good to me. So out of it tonight that I missed the beautiful bouquet of flowers he brought home for our anniversary. He made us steak tip strips, mashed and green beans. It was yummy. I think we’ll go out to dinner to celebrate tomorrow night when the kids aren’t home. We celebrate 40 yrs together this December.

Thinking of everyone, and sending good wishes for all. 🐥

So happy to report, we have hot water! Dad went downstairs to check and sure enough there is a brand new hot water heater. Praise God, so thankful! It will be such an extra blessing to take a shower this evening that’s for sure.

Hugs, Taz, That is so tragic and awful :( ITA with you and admire your outlook as well! Hope you are feeling brighter now, my friend.

Prayers for your DH tomorrow, Carol! I’m glad you did get to enjoy a celebratory dinner. Young kids do indeed change the dynamic of a meal. And Go Ravens.

AuntieMe3, it was awful how long you were without hot water! Continued prayers for your DD! Please keep us posted. Have fun at the Farmer’s Market tomorrow.

That is awesome, Bobbiwoz! I never knew there was such thing as a sunflower farm.

Big hug, Pea and as always a huge thank you for being such a compassionate person and nurse! Your music kindness today sounds like it truly touched that lady’s heart, thank you for doing that, my friend.  to the old man and that priest sure gave you a wonderful reminder! Jesus sure is there with you, too, always and in all ways! Aw, that was sweet of your DH. Early 40th Anniversary Congratulations!

Have a wonderful evening and sweet good night everyone.

Good morning all!

Quiet here except for one of the cats, who for some reason neeeeeded to explore the mud room, and yowled about it until I opened the door.

I'm now sitting here having my coffee and watching the two plants that we normally keep out there so the little mischievous fluffballs don't chew them.

Good morning. As I sit here the rain is dumping down and its 69 degrees. Supposed to be sunny and 77 later though. I went to bed at 9:30, so dead tired and back aching so much I was almost in tears. Fell asleep right away..woke at 10:30. Was awake on and off till 1, then slept till 3. Tried to check in on here , but the DIS was down for maintenance I guess. Fed cats and went back to bed and slept from 4-7. Definitely need a nap later. Matt from PT comes for the last time today :(

@Pea-n-Me,,your post was so sweet it brought tears to my eyes. You are definitely where you are supposed to be!

@flyingdumbo127--glad you have hot water again Mona!

Have a nice morning all

Good Morning.

I have been up since 6 AM. Had to get the 3 boys to school. While there I got a text from Mikey he needs a ride since he needs to be in at 10. Finally get the boys moving, it was one of those let's play around days, and I find my daughter's wallet with license on the floor. Text her to let her know where it is and my granddaughter texts me. She vomited in school. Tell her to head to the nurse, I'll get there after I drop the boys off which thankfully is only a few minutes from her school. The nurse got on me because she has had her cycle for a couple weeks. Yes I know that. My granddaughter has a hormonal disorder and unfortunately she has prolonged periods because of it. With Covid we couldn't get her into the Children's Hospital that was treating her. She also has a clotting disorder so the traditional treatment, the Pill, can't be used since she is prone to clots. It's a lot for a kid to deal with. It's a lot for her grandmother to deal with. She is such a sweet girl and I do worry about her.

Well I can finally drink my coffee and grab a bite to eat til I have to go get Mikey to school. Some days I feel like I should put a yellow flashing light on my car and call it a taxi cab. I don't mind, I'm glad I am able to be there to help out.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Tuesday morning! :sunny:

We had such nice weather yesterday I went for an extra long walk than normal. I need to do this everyday, I'm going to start looking for a dress for my son's wedding.

Ds3's friend came over last night. He cut his finger pretty bad a couple of days ago and is just now starting to worry about it. I couldn't talk him into going to the emergency room so I fixed it up the best as I could. It is so infected, I tried to scare him into going by telling him what could happen if the infection gets into his blood stream. I drew a circle around the red area and told him to watch it everyday, if the redness goes beyond the line he has to go to the hospital. He gave me a beer for my help, fair enough.

Easy dinner last night, ravioli. Tonight I'm going to bake salmon.

Yesterday I decided to not take a couple of tests that I have this week and was planning on doing it when I got to work this morning since the office is empty for the first hour I'm here. Well wouldn't you know it, I forgot to put my stuff in my bag yesterday so I don't have the papers to take my test :headache:. Was not happy!!! I'll just do it when I get home today.

Nothing else going on today, pretty boring. Hope everyone has a good Tuesday!

Sitting in the hospital waiting room, trying to stay awake.

Hope all goes well w/ his testing and you guys are on your way to breakfast sooner rather than later!

Quiet here except for one of the cats, who for some reason neeeeeded to explore the mud room, and yowled about it until I opened the door.

Must be something in the air...our barn cats have been unusually active these past few days - we recently mowed the fields and I think they are having a good time hunting - and last night one of the dogs decided he needed to wander the house and whine a bit. He wanted to go outside to 'patrol'. He is usually one to sleep really well thru the night, so not sure what put a bee in his bonnet last night. We've had our windows open, and the foxes have been rather amorous of late shall we say  and they sound like a persons being axe murdered to boot! So maybe that had him a bit riled up.

I went to bed at 9:30, so dead tired and back aching so much I was almost in tears.

I wonder if you might benefit from a visit to your primary care Dr.? Perhaps they could recommend a therapy/protocol/method of helping your back issues, and your sleep issues. You don't want to run yourself down to the ground, you've had a very trying few months. I wish there was something we could do to help -

Some days I feel like I should put a yellow flashing light on my car and call it a taxi cab. I don't mind, I'm glad I am able to be there to help out.

Whew! I'm exhausted just reading about your morning!

We had such nice weather yesterday I went for an extra long walk than normal.

It's been beautiful here, too. I try to take advantage of it when I can during the day. I ate lunch outside yesterday, sometimes it's just so nice to get outside and get some deep breaths in and sunshine. I need to follow your example and take more walks.

Good morning everyone. Woke up to slight mugginess and sunshine, but we are expecting rain later, which will usher out the humidity and bring in some cool, crisp mornings. Bit of a slow day at work, so I'm going to play a bit of catch up with some random paperwork and maybe clear out and clean up my office. Premade some simple chicken noodle soup for dinner this evening. I have a 5:45 appt. about 30 minutes from home so I don't think I'll be home until 7 or 7:30. Tomorrow eldest will join us for dinner so I'm making them pot - stickers. And by making I mean getting them out of the freezer and following the directions on the bag! Maybe I'll go get my flu shot today-

We are home.

Hope all goes well w/ his testing and you guys are on your way to breakfast sooner rather than later!
DH's test went fine the we went to Guildays (a diner like local restaurant) for waffles. Home now. Chance of showers all day so think we are just laying low.

@tazdev3225, I think you were the one asking about airport parking. Is it Philadelphia you would be using? I got an email from Groupon and they have a deal on airport parking in Essington. I can send ot to you if interested.

I'm going to start looking for a dress for my son's wedding.
Good luck! Unless you go to a bridal shop, ordering online might be your best option. DD and I had real trouble finding dresses for the formal wedding we attended. We each ordered multiple dresses from Macys and Nordstrom then returned most to the stores.

Still need to read Galatians today.

Glad your husband's tests went well. I am the one that asked about parking and it will be out of Philadelphia. I'm still up in the air about at the airport or off site. Now that we are using the same airline both ways things will be so much easier. My husband thinks he can help with the luggage, I laughed. He can barely get a bag of groceries in the house. He feels guilty that he had the strokes. I told him just call me Mrs. Pack Mule. He will be in a wheelchair at the airports so he can hold on to a carryon so he feels better about it all.

Got my grocery shopping done and stocked up on a few things. My husband LOVES Polar Blueberry Lemon Seltzer water. Personally I think it's disgusting. Usually it's $1.25 a bottle but was on sale this week for 50 cents a bottle. I got him a couple weeks worth, different flavors, so he is happy. There was a huge thunderstorm while I was in the store and evidently it is a prelude of things to come. I hope I have a small break when I pick the boys up after school.

Hope everyone in the path of the storms stays safe and dry. Have a great afternoon.
