Lou Lou's first day of preschool this year. She was so ready to go that she brought my sandals to me 40 minutes early. 😄

Oh my gosh, she is sooooo adorable!! I'm glad she is excited to go to preschool. 😃 📚🎶

DD got a new student today. On their first day of school, this child attacked the principal, tore down decorations in the hallway outside of DD's class, pushed things off the top of DD's desk, threw chairs in her room and she had to evacuate the other children to get away from him. He's a kindergartener and this is his second school in the district. Hope he's moved out quickly.

:scared1: Yikes!! I know we try to include everyone in school, but that is so unfair to your DD and all the other students!

Time for a phone upgrade again :( I posted last year about the Galaxy J3 I had. I currently have the Galaxy A01 which was supposed to be a step up but isn't. Even the camera on the J3 was better plus for dinosaur techy preferred me, it was easier to use. Dad still has his J3. I don't need any bells and whistles. Ideally a phone would do at least as good as the J3 in low light (which this A01 does not) I turn off Mobile Date 100% of the time and only use Free Wifi so that is not a concern. At least 80% of the time, I use the phone for talking only. The rest, I use between texting, taking pictures and a few times a day checking my email. I do not watch any videos or game. We have and are very happy (great deal on our 2 phones each month) with Verizon. I chatted with someone earlier from Samsung who suggested the A12. What would all of you currently suggest as a budget Galaxy phone? I do realize most of my Quacker family owns iPhones. But always worth asking your opinions! Thank you so much.

I think DH might disown me if I got an iphone.... he once got an iPad for a Christmas gift from his company (beautiful too, engraved with his name, the company's, and the date; gold color; super fancy version), and he got grief from me until he finally gave it away to DD#2 last year.

I have a Galaxy s10e. I like it just fine. It's got some bells and whistles, but it's easy to use. It's what I use to take my photos, and they come out ok. It has different settings (food, panoramic, night, slow motion video etc). The only thing I dislike is the (former Bixby sidebar, now Sansung content). I hate it takes up space, and I can't get rid of it. Also, it has a few apps preinstalled that I can't delete, so I had to put them on disabled and then sleep.

I made shakshuka for DH yesterday, and I used it without the eggs on pasta. It was really good!

Today is delivery food day. I'm just feeling meh today. Tomorrow is bacon cheddar burgers; then chicken parm rollups; and Saturday is meatloaf and mashed.

Y'all have a good day!

Good morning everyone. I am late again, and again , my sleep is off kilter. Woke up almost every hour until 3 am when I finally slept till 5 am.

@flyingdumbo127--Mona, both hubby and I have Galaxy S10's and love them. Like Bianca and Bernard, we don't care for the Bixby/Samsung side bar thing and disabled them, along with any apps that it won't let us uninstall. It has awesome battery life, takes great pictures, and is easy to use.

@Kirby,,what an adorable pic of Lou Lou,,it made me smile first thing this morning!

Going to be an almost 85 degree day, with chance of strong storms this afternoon and evening. Lawn needs mowing again (after 4 days?), but its going to wait till Friday when its supposed to be in the low 70's.

I wish everyone a Happy Wednesday..remember to take time to do something for yourselves today, even if it's just a small thing!

Happy Wednesday morning :flower:

Went to leave for work this morning and my car battery decided it was done working >:(. So there I am at 6:15 am all dressed and ready to go and now I'm on my couch working. Ds will change the battery later today when he gets home from work.

Tried something new for dinner last night. Just one of those frozen bag meals I got from Meijer, thin noodles, sauce and shrimp. Serving size was for 3, it would have served just one of my boys . I ate a small serving last night and saved the rest for my lunch today. Ds ended up just having tomato soup and grilled cheese.

Finished staining the end table that I've been working on. All I need to do is put a coat of varnish on it and then reassemble it, then I'll start working on the other one. I ordered a liquid remover instead of using the sander, I couldn't get the finish off as well as I hoped on the legs by just sanding it. Hopefully this will work better.

Back to work, I see the notices that I've been getting emails to respond to. Have a good day :flower1:!

:scared1: Yikes!! I know we try to include everyone in school, but that is so unfair to your DD and all the other students!
They don't know yet if he has a learning/mental issue or is just plain violent. Since this is his second school this year I don't know what they are going to do. The school district DD works for has nothing for students that young. My sister works in another local school district that used to have a school for students with mental issues, where they worked one on one with staff because they could not be in a classroom setting with other students but it was closed last year. Those students were put in an alternative school this year which I'm not sure was a good idea.

What a super precious picture of Lou Lou, Kirby! I pray she has a fun and fantastic school year. How horribly sad on that little boy :( I also, of course, feel awful for the children who witnessed his behavior. Prayers for them all, your DD, of course, too, and the principal—not an easy situation to be in for sure!

Always so lovely to see you post, Luckyrabbit! I do remember a LFL box outside of a restaurant near Hobby Lobby in Burbank that I used to go too. Great idea to look into that now. I can also offer the books on Paperbackswap or send to a friend who would enjoy as well. Prayers always you are doing well, my friend!

Hug, PollyannaMom, I wanted to do the same thing! ITA! It did bring back memories of a preschool center were sadly some of the children at times acted similarly :( A lot of the kids were placed at the center due to not always positive home lives. Some very hard choices had to be made.

Thank you for the recommendation, B&B, I appreciate it :) I did Google the S10e and it may be out of my price range. I’m very glad you like it. I’m sorry your DH had that iPad experience with a gift no less. I also do not like Bixby or any of the other automatic features. It also seems like the phone updates almost daily! Hugs and I hope your day gets brighter!

Listen to Donald, Lynn! He has the exact right idea for you, my friend of peacefully resting! You I keep you in much prayer for better sleep. Thank you also for the phone recommendation. I do remember now the S series being recommended in our thread when I asked last year. I wish the choices were more affordable. I’ll have to look into it more. I was thinking more in line of the A series again…price-wise.

Oh no, I’m sorry about your car’s battery, Footballmouse! I am grateful you were at least safely at home instead of out somewhere! Grilled cheese is always a happy go-to for me, I hope your DS enjoyed his. You sound so handy with all the furniture projects you do! :)

Dad prayers please this morning for his appointment to go well. Time of life change here is sure throwing me for a loop. This current cycle is late yet some symptoms. I do rest assured knowing it's all normal and part of the "change!" Grateful always to be well :)

Wishing all of you a wonderful Wednesday!

Hello Quackers,

I have been reading and trying to keep up, but have not had time to post. We had a busy weekend and school started with a "bang" this week. To say our house is a a bit behind the eight ball would be accurate. It will settle out. Always seems a long weekend ends up in playing catch up the rest of the week.

footballmouse- glad that you are able to work from home and, as flyingdumbo said, at least you were home and not stranded on the side of the road.

lynxstch - hope that more good rest for you and Mr. L. is coming soon. Great news for you that you will get to see Matt again.

kirby - Lou Lou definitely looks ready to "take on" pre-school. Hopefully her and Lil' Joe will both have a good year of school. Very scary and sad regarding the student who is clearly out of control. Prayers that situation gets resolved quickly for all.

breezy_carol - Hopefully you are able to get something figured out for your trip. Bummer the other kids are sick.

flyingdumbo- prayers your dads appointment goes well and he has safe travels to and from.

I have a list a mile long that I seem to be avoiding rather well. I have a dr.s appointment on Friday and am finally going to discuss my anxiety/depression in more depth. I've been seeing a therapist off and on for a few years, and while it's very helpful, I think I may need something more. At least for awhile. I am "eat my feelings" type of person and it's gotten out of control. I'm leery of anti-depressants, mainly because I don't want to gain any more weight. I'm in hopes my Dr. can give me some suggestions/ideas and we can get a plan to move forward.
Nice day here finally, though the wind could settle just a bit. I have a meeting later then pick up's from practices and such for the kids. Thinking it's going to be take-out for supper. We have 2 choices in our small town, so it's not going to be exciting, but I won't have to cook and that makes me smile.
Take care all.

88 degrees and definitely looks like storms brewing. Winds are coming up, leaves are turning inside out. The breeze isn't doing much to cool it off though. Didn't do much of anything today. Just gathered trash and am cleaning the litterboxes and putting fresh ones down. Then I will be making dinner..ham, mac and cheese and green beans. Then crashing and doing nothing tonite except watching tv and hoping I can sleep a little more.I am dragging.

@flyingdumbo127, Mona, I hope your Dad made out okay at the Drs today.
@frog3101 glad you are going to talk to your Dr about your anxiety and depression. I think a lot of us are feeling the same way after this last year and a half,,wow..its been that long hasn't it ?

@footballmouse, sorry about your battery. I think we are going to need a new one before winter. We haven't used it much lately, and when I went out to start it the other day, I wasn't sure it was going to start. But it did..so I let it run for 30 min to charge it up. I have started it every other day since then, just so it can stay charged.

I do wish Tina would come back and check in, I am worried about her. I know she has always had a lot of health issues, and I hope that she's doing okay.

Have a nice rest of the afternoon and evening everyone~~

Good to see you, Frog and big hug, my friend. Keeping you in prayer. I hope the school year settles down at your house. Thank you on my dad. Thank God he got a very good report. Will have a follow up procedure next week. Then should not need to go back to this doctor until next March, praise God :)

Thank you always, Lynn. ITA about Tina.

I hope all of you are having a good mid afternoon for AuntieMe3 and evening to everyone else :)

what makes for a good fish taco? all kinds of spins here in Yuma...but the best are in Mexico, little tiny hole in wall, long line...and fresh from the sea of cortez
For me, they have to be fried...no grilled fish, just not the same. My dad makes a beer batter and uses a certain kind of fish but I can't rememberwhat kind. Corn tortilla, shredded cabbage, crema(or Ranch in a pinch), Pico de Gallo and a squirt of lime....I guess thats considered Ensenada style. Unfortunately our tacos last night weren't as good as they usually are...so that was disappointing 👎 now for sure I'm going to get my dad to make some soon.

Also tiny hole in the wall tacos are the best...lol

We are trying to figure out something so DSonIL can go to the wedding and not have to stay back with the kids.
Hope you were able to get something figured out.

I'm in the minority I guess. Ice cream just doesn't do it for me anymore.
Me too....Hubby is an ice cream fiend, he can eat a whole carton himself. I really like Gelato but I only get it off were out and I'll get a small. I prefer other sweets instead of ice cream.

love the picture. So cute!! But really sad about the boy in DDs class. We had a little guy like that when I worked at daycare and it was hard.

oh no...but like others said, at least you were home. We just had to replace my battery not to long ago and I feel like the last one didn't last very long.

am finally going to discuss my anxiety/depression in more depth
I need to do this too. I've been having a lot of heart palpation that I think are due to my anxiety so I need to get out under control because every time it happens, it freaks me out.

@flyingdumbo127 I also have a galaxy s10, it's been a great phone but I figured it might be out of your price range. Hope you are able to find one you like.

It was HOT today....my car said 106°. I was roasting on my way to my blood pressure check and bloodwork appt. Thought I was doing great getting there 30 minutes early but turned out I was 20 mins late.... that's just so me....:lmao:They still saw me but I had to wait forever. My blood pressure was perfect.... so my new dosage is working now I'm hoping my blood work come back good. I also was able to get my flu shot today so it's nice to have that out of the way. Hoping I sleep better tonight, the past couple of nights haven't been great...I think I'm just missing my hubby.

I'm going to Palm Springs this weekend to hang out with my friends, one lives there, the other lives near me so we're driving down together after she gets off work Friday. It's going to be HOT but my friend has a pool at his small complex so I'm sure we'll be spending lots of time in the pool, looking forward to that.

Hope everyone has a great night and everyone sleeps well.....:grouphug:

Me We just had t.....:grouphug:

crema....you go girl....we are getting..in about a year....a real SW border store around are corner... they have real SW border food.

we have a taco stand down the road, but they season their batter with what i think is too much sage....leaves a gnarly taste....always packed under their tent . Our algondones taco stand does a fantastic job with shrimp and they have line of dressings to use.

Good morning all. Rained overnite, still cloudy, temps supposed to be mid 70's today. Got a little more sleep last nite , but still not enough. Went back to bed after feeding the cats, and was woken by hubby's oxygen machine beeping. Saw yellow and red lights. Got up and somehow he had gotten the hose pinched under his power recliner. I got it loose, but still have to call them today. They are supposed to check the machines every 6 months..and this one hasn't been checked since it was put in , back in January. And it's been running pretty much 24/7 except for the month he was in the hospital. They can bring supplies at the same time.

I need to mow, but trying hard to wait till tomorrow when all dries out and its low 70's. My back is also begging me to wait as long as possible. My sciatica has been bad the last few days, and it hasn't been like this in a long time.

Not a fan of tacos myself, so can't comment on how they are anywhere, lol!

Have a nice day!!!

Happy Thursday to everyone :) .

Ds changed out my battery and headlights yesterday. I was glad that it didn't start at home and not at work. I could have called AAA and had them come and jump the car but then what if it didn't start after work and I was stuck in a parking garage. Glad I was able to work from home.

Made a very blah dinner last night, I didn't even eat it. I just don't like Hamburger Helper but my son will eat it, it's cheap and easy so I'll make it for him.

Nothing else is going on today, just working and no plans tonight. Everyone have a great day! :flower:

Good Morning 🐥

Hugs, AuntieMe3 and thank you. Please keep well and cool, my friend. I hope you have fun in Palm Springs, too! I have a few friends who live near there.

Hug, Lynn, I’m not a fan of fish or tacos! Yikes! :( I sure pray the company will come out and check/fix the oxygen machine asap! As you (well)know that is not something to be messed with!

I sure hope you have a better day, Footballmouse. I’m glad to hear your car is up and running :)

Waving good Thursday to all. I'll check back in later.

Sunny and 80 outside. Weather channel shows we are having rain..lol..Jane from PT was here at noon. Matt will be back Mon and Wed,,and she got authorized for next week and the week after for him. Katie from OT just left..she was here an hour..sat on the couch, watching Chopped, typing notes in her computer and talking..lol..guarantee it was her easiest appt all day, maybe all week. It was her last visit and Shay will be here Monday to discharge Mr L from OT. Jane also is having respiratory therapist come one more time,,just to make sure nothing has changed with his oxgyen and stuff..fine by me.

I did laundry, took trash down to the street, and cannot talk myself into mowing today. Grass is still a little wet anyhow and it says we could have showers anytime. So I will plan on doing it tomorrow.

Mr L says he's sleeping in bed tonite..we'll see how that goes. He may sleep in there , and I may sleep on the couch. He moves too much in his sleep, and I haven't been getting good sleep as it is.

Have a nice rest of the afternoon all!

Good afternoon everyone....OMGosh it is HOT outside...only 97° compared to yesterday's 106° but it is HUMID!!! Not used to humidity here so I feel like I'm melting... :lmao: Just got home from the store to this above us and heard some thunder....
603549
hoping we at least get some rain out of it. 🤞

Went to a store I haven't been to in awhile and realized I really need start shopping there again. If I had gone to the one I usually shop at, I would have spent way more on probably less. I intended to just get a few things but got things I can't get at my regular store. It wasn't too busy which was nice too.

I think I'm going to try and make that million dollar spaghetti. Have any of you heard of it or had it before? I guess it's like a spaghetti casserole. I had it at a potluck awhile ago and it was pretty good. It will probably be way to much for the two of us but I'll take some to my dad and DD will have leftovers while I'm away this weekend.

I caved to the clouds and the breeze, and got the front and both sides of the lawn mowed. Sky is turning black and looks like rain. Will do the back tomorrow..then only weedwacking will need to be done. I hope we get some rain,,we still need more..even though we have mushrooms growing in the grass from that downpour last week, lol!

@AuntieMe3,,that is way too hot! I never heard of million dollar spaghetti,,if you find the recipe, please share it,,thanks!

Rainy day here today. It is very muggy outside with the rain.

Today was an in office morning for me. One more person has been rehired and it was so nice to see her. I heard her voice and had to go see her. We talked for a while since we haven't seen each other in 18 months. Our office still isn't officially open for all and I am not sure when or if that will be. On Thursday there is usually about 10 of us where 105 used to work. Half got laid off 18 months ago, several have been hired back, and most are still working from home all the time and want to continue doing so. The pandemic certainly changed the work dynamic. We proved we can work from home and do it well. It saves time, money, gas, and I think people occasionally work a little more if it is easy just to go to your home office and not commute.

Last night we took care of younger DS's 3 kiddies while they went to a nursery school parent orientation. It was fun and busy. The littlest one always wants me to sit with her or read to her. The older two corral Grandpa for games. This weekend we are finally celebrating younger DS and DDIL birthdays. I am making a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. It is the recipe on the back of the Hershey cocoa can. So yummy!

Happy Thursday.
