Good Wednesday morning all. Refreshing outside at 58 and only going to 76 today. Hubby has a device check and cardiologist appt at 10,,if he's not too worn out after that I will go grocery shopping, if he is, I'll do it tomorrow. Grass needs mowing again already. I hate May and June for that, it needs it 2x a week, after that it goes down to once a week and I can't wait!
Trash is down to the curb, cats are fed,,I think I am going to lay down again for another hour. Hubby has been up since 4:10 so he probably will also.
Have a nice morning, enjoy the day!

Tv shows
Family ties- my first crush was on Michael J. Fox
How I met your mother - was on I watched regularly when it aired, wasn’t crazy on the ending and haven’t watched reruns
Big Bang theory - love to watch reruns for a good laugh, the writers were very creative with the little side stories and characters
West wing - love, love, love this show. I liked to imagine what it was like in Washington, small crush on Josh, wanted to be CJ best friend. Watched when it originally came out, then 3 years ago rewatched all the seasons on Netflix, took about 9 months
The Middle- I had seen 2 espsiodes and thought the mom was whiny , but during the pandemic we started watching this as a family in the early evening adn it is perfect for my teenagers right now, really fun show
thinking of watching. Cheers, Sopranos or ??? On Netflix or hulu this summer
Ted Lasso - on Apple TV. Hilarious show, great side characters

Dance lesson and a trip to Home Depot. Exciting times.

Whatttt? you get to go to Homes Depot? That beats my day - I got to stop at RoFo and grab the my husband a breakfast sandwich, and I suspect that may be the highlight of my day :rotfl2:

I was walking around the house this morning, putting a few things in the dishwasher, waiting for my hair to dry a bit, starting some laundry and I realized I've got so much stuff just stacked up here and there, without really paying attention the accumulated 'stuff' of two grown kids in-between houses has crept back into OUR house! Plus there is STILL Christmas stuff on the landing of the steps I'm embarrassed to say...I decided to take Friday off and just spend the day tossing stuff and putting stuff away. I just need a day to myself in the house to tackle it all. I've got a meeting mid day Saturday and I have no idea what Fathers Day is going to look like, so I'm seizing the moment to do it.

Which brings me to a QOTD:

QOTD- what, if any, Father's Day plans do you & your family have?

Us? I'm not sure...youngest is coming over either today or tomorrow thru Saturday evening and I believe both boys intend on taking my husband out fishing for the day Saturday. We may either go out for or pick up crabs Friday or Sunday, that is still up in the air. No big hubbabaloo, just low-key. I'll call my father, he's not much for a fuss either, on Sunday afternoon. I'll probably pick up my husbands favorite breakfast, smoked salmon for Sunday though.

Happy Wednesday and Good Morning, friends

Summer is definitely the air here. It truly feels like brighter times all-around :) I keep in much prayer that I'll be able to go out a little before the end of the year.

QOTD- what, if any, Father's Day plans do you & your family have? One of the presents I got my Dad is a summery tablecloth for our kitchen table. I had intended to get a throw away, one time use plastic cloth with a summer design of some sort. I quickly realized that these days even those are hard to find and definitely not the $1 price pre pandemic I was used to! I was able to instead find on Michaels for $4 a flannel back cloth, much better use of money! This way it can be quickly wiped down and then transferred to our kitchen table to start summer. I will begiving him this wrapped gift on Saturday night so I can spread it onto our card table. I'll be able to then put out his other surprises for him to open Sunday morning🧸

you get to go to Homes Depot?
We bought two boards and a bottle of Sevin to kill earwigs in the shed. We did go to Dunkin and Rofo on Monday.

QOTD- what, if any, Father's Day plans do you & your family have? Neither my father or DH's father are living so just the kids to celebrate with him. DS is trying to get all us and DD and family together Saturday. He has to work Sunday and still had DD's birthday gift. Trying to figure something to do midway between the 3 families in the morning as he has baseball tickets with his wife's father and family that evening. It is always low key for us.

It will feel different for sure without my mom. DH's dad passed away in 1984 and mine six years ago. His mom passed away in 2007. My mom has always been the person who got us all together for any special day and this is a year of firsts. DS and fiance are coming over Sunday. He is smoking wings. We'll add some stuff to go with it, toying with a couple of ideas. We might go out to the cemetery and see if my mom's nameplate has been added.

Another boring day at work. Looking forward to tomorrow since I can work from home tomorrow and Friday. My boss told me that he is on vacation all of next week so guess who will be working from home next week :rolleyes1.

I've been watching the Olympics diving and swimming trials, can't wait for the Olympics to start!!!!

Picked up my tassel yesterday for graduation next weekend. I decided to go to college 4 years ago, at age 48, and I stuck with it and now I can say that I'm a college graduate. Not sure if it's going to get me anywhere career-wise but we'll see.

Only 90 minutes to go at work, feels like I've been here for 15 hours :sad2:.

QOTD: Just have to work my other job, which I don't mind going to. My dad has been gone for 10 years, I'm divorced and only 1 of my 3 kids talk to their dad so Father's Day is just another day for us.

Have a good rest of your day!

ow I can say that I'm a college graduate

Nice!
You must be extremely proud of yourself, as you should be!

I've made a very high-level executive type decision, I'm taking tomorrow & Friday off to get some long needed, long put off, long on my last nerve major /minor projects that just require time, which the weekends don't offer enough of when combined w/ other farm chores, to get done. Two days, nose to the grindstone, fill the dumpster kinda chores. I've been trying to play catch up for months - welp tomorrow & Friday I'm catching up.

@footballmouse--Congratulations on becoming a college graduate..at any age, that's an accomplishment!!

Its so nice outside..73 and breezy, sunny, just noisy and darned cicada's dive bombing the car, people, etc. Cannot wait for them to be done with!

Hubbys appt was at 10 this morning and it was after 11:30 when we got out of there. This new cardiologist sits down after each patient and writes everything out. We had to sit in the waiting room for almost 45 min waiting for him to finish so they could print it out for us. He changed 2 of his current meds to higher doses, and added Entrestro and Farxiga to try. When I looked up the prices on Good RX it almost gave ME a heart attack . And the normal retail prices were even higher. Why do drug company's think people can afford $1500 and $1700 every 3 months for just 2 drugs? Thankfully we have Silver Script with Aetna..and while it's still going to cost us almost $700 every 3 months for those 2, at least we can manage that. Dr wants to see him in 6 weeks instead of 6 months to see if either of the drugs is helping to strengthen his heart any.

Left there and headed to Aldi (almost empty) and Walmart, which was full of kids, since school is out.

Dinner is going to be chicken and salad I think..I have a headache and don't feel like making much more.

Forgot to answer the QOTD. Stepdaughter just messaged me that finally, after a year of begging and pleading for pics of her 4 kids..she took them to the river the other nite after the oldest 2 got out of work, and did photo shoot just for Granddad. She is making a couple of gifts with the pictures, and hopefully will be over on Sunday. I got hubby a Ninja smoothie maker, as he's been eyeing them for awhile. It's his choice for dinner that night, my guess is it will either be crabcakes or burgers, lol

It has been a busy week with work so I have been too tired to do much. I have tried to keep up with everyone here. It seems like everyone is busy, enjoying warm weather, and cooking yummy stuff.

I would like to know why drug costs are so high too. It seems ridiculous that some people have to decide if they can take a needed drug or not depending on the cost. It is something we will have to look at when we go onto medicare and either medigap or advantage plan in a couple of years. Thankfully we are not on alot of meds now but as we get older I am sure that will change.

Older DGD turned 6 last weekend. We had her party on Sunday. It was different. Instead of cake she had fudgicles. She blew out a candle that was in a fudgicle. The kids got to eat all the fudgicles, popsicles, and ice pops they wanted. My DS and DDIL took DGD and the other 2 kiddos to Canobie Lake Park on Saturday. They had a great time. She graduates from kindergarten this week and it will be on to first grade in the Fall. Her brother will be in preschool a few mornings a week, and her younger sister will have Mom all to herself some days.

It is a beautiful day here today, around 72 and breezy. It will be warmer by the end of the week.

@footballmouse, I'm looking forward to the Olympics too!

Hot today, we may get a slight cooling front early next week, down in the lower 90's :rotfl2:. It all depends on where the tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico ends up.

Work in the office has been light this week. I've been able to clear off my desk. I'll blink tomorrow and it will be full again.

DD picked a Roma tomato earlier today and put it in her back pocket. She forgot about it and sat down on it. How it didn't burst open earlier I don't know. Fortunately the mess stayed in her pocket. I think that it took a minute to even realize what had happened. So now that's two out of three of my tomatoes that have bit the dust. The third one is sitting on my kitchen windowsill ripening up. At least I will be able to eat that one.

Dinner tonight was Border Skillet Chili. It's a recipe I found years ago on the back of a chili powder tin. It's my DS's favorite.
