Quarantine and chill and kindness chatty clubhouse: Jump in and join the conversation! All is welcome!

Sun is out this morning a little which is a nice sight to see after yesterday :)

:hug:AuntieMe3. I am also glad you and your Mom's best friend have one another. Remember we care, too.

Carol, I love how connected and interactive your church is from involving congregants in the sermon to related Book and Bible studies. so refreshing to see. It means so much to me to "attend" worship virtually. Meanwhile, my current church reopened on Sunday. I just watched some of Sunday's service that was recorded live. It didn't do a whole lot for me. Sure it was nice to see some people I recognize but the feel wasn't so real. Sadly, still. I would appreciate prayers that I continue in all ways of course to look towards and listen to God's call including with checking out other church options.

Dad-related, please do keep him in extra prayer this week. Thank you, my friends.

Wishing all of you a good Tuesday.

Good afternoon.

Hot and humid, like breathing through a sponge outside. We cut the grass early this morning. Done by 10:15. DH does the push mower and slope and I do the riding mower. No other plans.

DH was at jury duty until about 11;15 yesterday then all jurors were dismissed. He did not have to report today and has to call in again tonight.

Mona, I am glad you are enjoying our church. I have missed the past 2 Sundays and guess I should try to watch.

@Peas-n-Me, your salad looks so good. I am glad your garden is growing. None of the zinnia or sunflower seeds I planted came up in spite of plant food, lime, and watering. I may try to plant more zinnias. I really like to have some flowers.

Shed arrived - well, once the driver found our place. I guess the address numbers on the fence and the street name weren't enough! He was "lost" and parked on side of road in front of farm. I just told him to look for the barns and silo! No 30 minutes head-up call, but what are you going to do? It's here, apparently in one piece, so all is well that ends well.

Traffic is supper busy outside of the office. We are on a busier roadway and there is a major traffic issue north of us that is fouling folks up three ways to Sunday so I am thinking folks are headed around as a detour. Unfortunately those that are headed south will soon find out there is a accident or something not far from here and it's keeping folks from accessing the bridge to get them to the rest of the state. I am fairly certain there are a lot of angry motorists around the state!

Dad-related, please do keep him in extra prayer this week

Of course, will do. Good luck to him -

DH was at jury duty

THAT REMINDS ME! My husband got a jury duty notice a few weeks ago and I think he left if in his truck, not to be looked at again after I broke the news to him. I better go make sure remembers and doesn't miss any deadlines.

No rain yet, a few drops here & there but nothing of any major consequence. I hope it does rain so I can take a break from watering!

ETA: Almost forgot! Booked a bit of a getaway at the beginning of Feb. to Boulder Ridge. It's been years since we've stayed at WL. We usually try to do a quick getaway after the holidays to break up the doldrums of the post-holiday winter months, somewhere warm.

Just found this thread. Gotta admit, I didn't read the whole thing, 538 pages is a lot  , I started a few pages back.

That tomato salad looked awesome!!!! So refreshing.

Enjoying my last month of working from home, have to start going back to the office in July :(.

Low 80's and cloudy here in Cincinnati today. Good chance of rain every day this week. The cicadas are pretty bad but I'll still sit out back with my dogs. Hopefully the rain will hold off until later tonight so I can get the grass cut.

Oh, almost forgot to answer the QOTD. I really enjoy watermelon and peaches. We have a truck that delivers Georgia peaches 2 or 3 times during the summer. You need to preorder so I ordered a crate that I'll divide with my sisters but they won't be here until next weekend. There's usually 85 peaches in a crate so we each get a good amount. Everyone have a good Tuesday

Thank you, Carol. I still wish DE were closer to CA! How grateful I am to attend virtually :) I hope your DH can be done with Jury Duty. I sure would not want to serve during a pandemic.

Thank you so much, Easyas! Please be careful on the roads out there! I also hope your DH will get positive Jury Duty news.

Keep cool, Lynn!

Waving hi, Footballmouse! New posters are always welcome here indeed :)

@easyas123, not sure what road you are on but I looked at the Bay Bridge on CHART and it looks a mess on Kent Island.

A HOT MESS, no one getting anywhere headed west for a while, added to that a chemical spill up near Christiana Mall and 95 N shut down and traffic snarled..yeah, no fun for the drivers! Our office is right on 301- southbound lanes

Just found this thread.

Welcome!

Welcome @footballmouse :welcome:. So you have cicadas in Cincinnati too. @lynxstch and I both have them in different parts of Maryland but @easyas123, also in MD, not so much. They are so loud!

@easyas123, 95 shut down too! Glad I’m not going anywhere. We are close enough to 95 that if it’s shut down near us, we can see the increase in local traffic.

Its 84 out..and we go from sun to clouds. I just mowed the whole lawn,,again. Getting really tired of having to do it every 4 days..and I am not leaving it tall..its on the second setting! Trying to duck cicada's in every bush and tree, but if you touch a branch..a zillion come flying out. I felt something on my leg when I was mowing the front..I look down and there are 2 of them on my leg..mating???? Needless to say ,,that will be about 600 less eggs that get laid and hatched from those 2, as I knocked them off my leg and stepped on them. Off to cool off and find something for dinner. Then I have to make my grocery list.

Yikes to needing a special bug protection hat, that's awful!

ETA: Stay clear of these Socks I was so excited to have finally found some comfortable, truly non binding socks at last. Dad laundered them today for the first time. He even spent an extra $1.50 to dry 3 pairs of these socks by themselves AFTER they had dried for 30 minutes with other clothing. The socks have been hanging on a towel rack in our bathroom for 2 1/2 hours now and are STILL heavy and wet. Amazon is refunding the money. So disappointing. I have never had this experience with socks!

Did some shopping this morning. We went to Target and Homegoods. We got some sheets and towels. Then we went to Office Max and got ink for the printer, I am getting really tired of buying ink, I mean is there a teaspoon full in there? I had a doctor appt. first off and she said I'm still good, no sign of the cancer recurring!!!!

QOTD-- the only fruit I can think of that I don't like is grapefruit. My faves are any kind of berry.

The rain keeps going around us, we really need it!! I feel bad for the farmers trying to grow our food. My peonies are all blooming, my favorite flower.

Welcome. football mouse:wave:
