@lynxstch, continued prayers for Lily. Glad to hear that she is getting the help she needs
I feel stupid for getting all nervous about my account when it was just a glitch. Oh well, at least I finally changed my password after 17 years! Now I'm having another interesting glitch, though. As I go through and react to posts, when I "turn a page" in a thread, the line where I can choose my reaction disappears. At the top, it appears that I'm no longer logged in, so I click on "log in." I then get a message that I'm already logged in and to "click here to return to the main forum page." So I do that, then I have to look for the thread and click on the page I need, and then my reaction line appears. Very odd...
I worked on putting away Christmas things today. Why did it seem like it got put away a lot quicker than putting it out did? Well, it's not 100% put away yet - I still have framed photos out because I can't get to the cabinet for storage, and I also have a few linens I haven't taken down. I should be able to finish tomorrow. As I was boxing things up, I remembered this little nativity that was in the display cabinets in the kitchen:
If I remember correctly, my grandmother got it on a day trip to NYC with some of her friends. Around the mid-1980s, I think - when the Statue of Liberty was covered in scaffolding, I recall her saying that they couldn't really see the statue because of it. She said she bought the nativity from a street vendor and it was Peruvian (?). Fits in the palm of your hand. I feel badly, though, that it's clearly getting old; the paint is starting to crack and there are some chips in it.
After I finished putting Christmas away, I got Josh to do his math and reading apps (with plenty of push-back from him, of course) and then we finished his
Lego space shuttle for his Mars Research Station. I really enjoy the Legos myself and I think I need some sets of my own now! DH got out of work at 1 and was home just before 2. A friend of mine dropped by with some outgrown winter boots and DVDs from her kids. The last time I saw her was just before she moved to Florida, 2 years ago. I wasn't prepared for her to tell me that her older son (12 years old) already has a mustache! Wow...I remember visiting in the hospital when he was born and holding him for a couple of hours! It's going by too fast.
We had Chinese for dinner, as usual. We ordered early because of what happened back on NYE 2014. I had just learned that I was pregnant with Josh. I went with my mother to pick up the food at our normal dinner time. She went in for it and I sat there in the cold car for over an hour, wondering what the heck was going on. I saw people going in, but not coming out. Finally my mother appeared...the restaurant was having some really bad issues with giving customers other people's orders, and it had created a domino effect. As a result of that, now when we order on a holiday, we order no later than 3 p.m.!
Now we're watching the Twilight Zone, also as usual. Flipping back and forth between that and Doctor Who. We tried to watch Doctor Who earlier, but it was a David Tennant episode and Josh insisted that "he's not Doctor Who, Doctor Who is an old man" (meaning Peter Capaldi...he was the Doctor when Josh was a baby

). Right now is my favorite TZ episode, though, "Time Enough at Last," so I won't be changing it until it's over.
Josh wants to stay up late tonight. Good luck with that, kid. Your parents can barely make it past 10:30 as it is...
