Lynxstch, I'm glad.
@Breezy_Carol and @easyas123
to Gov Hogan's announcements..no further closings, but they are ramping up $$ and help for hospitals! I was holding my breath waiting to see what he was going to say!
@lynxstch, that’s what I heard to. My favorite line Of the entire conference. After the MD talked for a while, he ended with “and to partially quote the governor, wear the mask!” Hogan got up and said “it doesn’t have the same impact.” For the non-Marylanders, Hogan is noted for saying “wear the damn mask.” I even got a mask with that phase on it.
I'll admit, I'm surprised no closings, but glad. Sounds like some folks are concerned about the Metro - especially given the issues DC is experiencing. Also sounds like they are putting the call out for new and almost new nurses & retired medical folks to help out. And 155,000 vaccines headed our way initially.
Silly news, but good in a minor kinda way. Each year I usually get husband a new Disney holiday mug (keep packed away w/ Christmas stuff and bring out in December) and this year I found the Disney mugs to be really blah...so I figured I would skip it. Then this afternoon they send me a 20% off and free shipping coupon - it's NOT my birthday, so probably a ploy to get me back to the site - and so I clicked the link and putzed around the holiday shop again. Lo & behold there was a new Christmas mug design. So I ordered it...FYI anyone ordering from Shopdisney.com and getting the free shipping - as of today it told me it would ship in 1-2 weeks, so it could easily be the week prior to the holiday before I get it. Something to keep in mind if you are using their free shipping- act soon!
I hear too many horror stories about Shopdisney to try buying anything from them..but I hope you get your mug before Christmas!
I've collected all the info I need for the 4 guys who might have to quarantine and get tested if the other fella who was sick and tested today comes up positive. So if need be, I can tell them where to go for tests asap. Three of them are young guys in their mid 20's - my eldest, my nephew & one other kid. It's the 4th guy who has me concerned, older fella. A bit hard living, smokes like a chimney. I'd hate for him to get it, but at same time I'm not responsible for his lifestyle either.
You are right..you are not responsible. The elderly man who passed away where hubby works, refused to wear a mask..so he got covid, got pneumonia and died, leaving behind a grieving wife, kids, and grandkids. You just can't help them when they don't want to help sometimes. I hope all of your guys come up negative!
Dinner this evening is going to be grilled venison tenderloin over salad. I'll add some potatoes or rice for the boy, who isn't a fan of caesar salad.
I'm starting to feel like I might need to make some cookies this weekend. Or at least start collecting the ingredients...'ingredients' haha for me that means cookie mixesand store bought dough!
Check out the cookies made from cake mix thread on the DIS cooking board..you can make so many different cookies from them..there are also a ton of other ideas for holiday treats on there you might like!---https://www.disboards.com/threads/cookies-from-cake-mixes-also-biscotti-bars-now-cups-pops.681495/
lynxstch - that funeral in the funny funeral/wedding thread? It was in Keyser, WV if that puts it into even clearer perspectiveWOW! It sure did put it into clearer perspective for me. Why am I not surprised?
Have a good evening everyone, stay warm !
It is cold out here,,temp says 33, feels like 28, and there are snow flurries flying around..stay away from me snow~~~
Yikes, hope he is feeling better in the morning. Continued good thoughts for him & you.DH had to have a blood transfusion today,
with us being right there, we sometimes caught the brunt of it. It happens with families living together, especially living in difficult times such as these. People don’t know what to do with their feelings and they take them out on those around them. It doesn’t make it any easier in the moment, but know that it’s not uncommon, especially this time of year, and that I’m sure you, Josh and your husband are some of the most important people in her life. I hope things have gotten better by now.
Thanks. We were in Monterey for a day in 2010 and I really liked it and would like to visit again.@Breezy_Carol the wedding was in Monterey CA where they will be living until they find out where they will be stationed after next July
