I am sure this has been asked before but... to those of you that have stayed at both a moderate and value, what would be better 10 days at a value OR 7 at a moderate:confused3 We have already stayed at a moderated and I am afraid we got spoiled ??

We like to do split stays: either value for first half /mod for 2nd half OR mod for first half/deluxe for 2nd half.

This way you get the best of both worlds and it's not as pricey.

Split stays are so much more accomodating and "doable" than they used to be-you don't even have to worry about transporting your luggage! Just head out and enjoy your day and return to your new room later on.

My family would absolutely spend 7 days at a moderate over 10 days at a value. :thumbsup2

You can tell by my signature that our first few trips to WDW we stayed at POP. Next, we tried CBR. Loved that!! Then we joined DVC & from there on....deluxes only. We can never go back now!!

Definitely quantity!!! Values are fun!!! Not too fancy.... just lots of good ole FUN!!!

POFQ is not as spread out as the other mods or the values.

POR CBR and CSR are very spread out.

The Values are laid out closer together.

The mods have pool slides, a hot tub and a sit down restaurant (POFQ doses not have a sit down restaurant but shares with POR.

There is not much room size difference between a mod and a value.

Here is the layout of a mod.
The bathroom is about the same size as the All Stars but you will have 2 sinks instead of one.

The mod has 54 square feet more than the value.
That means if both the mod and the value room were 27 feet long than the mod would be 2 feet wider. Just enough room for a double sink instead of a single.

To me there is not a lot of room size difference.

I have stayed at all levels of Disney Resorts.
I personally enjoy the fun atmosphere of the values.
I enjoy watching the little ones eyes light up, seeing their smiles and hearing their giggles whenthey see their favorite Disney characters larger than life at values.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

I actually had to make this choice for our trip coming up at the end of March. DH and I talked about it and finally settled on quantity. We plan to spend a lot of time in the parks and therefore an amazing hotel would be lost on us. We would love the hot tub but can do without to have a few more days to experience Disney. There is so much to see and do that unless you plan to spend a lot of time in your room quantity seems to make the most sense.

10 days is a pretty long stay. I'd probably go for 7. For a stay that long, I'd probably spring for a mod. For a shorter stay, I'd say the values are fine, but for a longer stay, you'll probably appreciate the bigger space and fancier pool at a mod.

A few pointers though -

If you have strong feelings about the theming at any of these choices, that may well be the one you enjoy most! REgardless of mod/value staus.

Many of the mods are pretty pread out. You'll lose a fair amount of time walking around the resort going between the room/pool/dining/bus stop. Only POFQ is compact.

The values are more compact actually (no lake in the middle), but some of the rooms are abit of awalk. Pop is pretty big, but still has no lake in the middle.

Transportation at the values is also faster, in general. Buses at Pop are nearly always full though. If you leave a park near closing, you may have to wait a while to get a bus to Pop, but generally transportation was otherwise fast at Pop. At he mods, we found it generally better to wait at the main bus stop.

The All-Star resorts are the only resorts with actual Disney characters for resort decor.

It is just my 2 cents worth ....but if I can't stay Deluxe I rather spend extra days at the values..love them all.Moderates just didn't seem to impress me that much ..:goodvibes

7 days at a mod. Dh and I like to be able to kick back at some of the quiet pools at POR mid-day sometimes. Its a lot more quite (hence the name :lmao: ) then the main pools and since values only have main pools that was a major point for us. Plus I really prefer the grounds, the feel of less chaos and the closeness of the parks.

7 Days at a mod! They are just more relaxing.

How many people will be in your room? If it's just you and DH, I'd do 10 days at the value. If there are kids, I'd do 7 days in the moderate. I find value and mod rooms pretty small, and I don't think I'd be happy sharing one for 10 days with DH and 2 kids.

Just an FYI each of the All Stars has a main pool and a quiet pool also.

Thanks Minnie!! I never knew. Have you stayed there? If so are the quite pools actually quite? If so then DH and I might try it for a quick trip next month!! Its really a nice perk to get into a pool where there aren't 20 kids doing cannon balls around you or splashing you. Dont get me wrong I know Disney is for kids and I think main pools are great to send the kids to with all of the slides and extras, we just try to find one that will allow some relax time, which is what we found at POR.

Now with this info though we might hit a quick trip before the baby is due!!

Congrats on your good news!

I agree a quick trip to WDW before the baby would be a great idea.

My last 6 stays have been at All Star Music and the Piano pool is usally quite quiet.

I have stayed at all levels of Disney resorts and my favorite resort is All Star Music.
It tends to be quietest of the values. It also has the most landscaping of the values.

Please see my info thread for more of the reasons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.

We've stayed at ASMo, Pop, and CBR. For us, it's definitely 10 days at a value instead of 7 at a moderate, although we do like CBR.

Pop has 3 pools. We used the Bowling Pin pool for all but one day of our 9-day trip, and it was never crowded. That was Memorial Day week.

We just did the quality a month ago,7 days at the BC. We are going to do the quantity,10 days at POFQ next. We just don't spend enough time at the resorts to justify paying deluxe prices. I knew this before we stayed at the BC, but we had to try it anyway. It just felt like a waste of money. IMHO.
