Quality of Rooms When Booking AAA...

I was just wondering if you book through AAA are the rooms just as good as if you had book the WDTC?
I was just curious about how they choose what rooms to put the people in who have AAA or any other kind of discount for that matter.
I just wouldn't want to book that way and get a room that didn't have a good view or an undesirable location. Anyone who has booked through AAA or even AP holders whats your opinion of this?

It's like any discount travel... once you're there it's irrelevant what you paid.

It seems to me that AAA simply goes through Disney to book the reservations anyway. Once the ressies are in Disney's system, the resort managers will assign the rooms just like they would if you had booked directly with Disney.

It's not like AAA is coach and WDTC is 1st class, they are all coach. Unless you want to pay extra to get perfered or stay at the nicer resorts.
and as far as where in the resort you'll be staying is a roll of the dice and depends on how long your staying, what requests you might have made and what time of the year you go down.

We booked POFQ with the AAA discount - my only request was non-smoking. About two weeks later, I called WDTC and requested a change to a king room at the extra cost, again with the AAA discount.

When we arrived, we were given a beautiful corner room with a full river view (which was so nice that we got up 1/2 an hour early each morning to sit and drink our coffee while enjoying that view).

I agree, I don't think that discounted reservations are treated as coach vs first class. For the small individual discounts they grant, Disney gets enough increased business to cover the cost. ( I know that I spend the money saved on the room somewhere else at Disney during my vacation, and I don't think I'm the only one!)

Our room at POR was booked using the AAA discount and we couldn't have been happier with it. I don't think it makes a difference booking through them.

I've booked many times with AAA on all kinds of vacations and never felt like I got anything less than anyone else as far as accomodations.

With Disney, if you have your heart set on a certain view or location, book that room or location when you make your reservation.

If you book, say, a water view room with an AAA discount, I don't think it's likely that you would get a worse water room view than someone booking rack rate for that reason. But if you're dead set on seeing water, cough up the extra $10 or so a night for the water view room.

When I booked our vacation last month, the AAA TA kept putting me on hold. So I asked her if she was talking to Disney to confirm our reservations and she said yes. They call Disney just like we do so I don't think you get any different treatment if you go through AAA or Disney directly.

Just got back from All Star Sports, booked online through AAA's website at AAA rate, and I got upgraded to preferred for n/c. Probably had something to do with faxing a request for King smoking, close to a pool.

We booked CBR June 18-21 with AAA discount and got upgraded from standard to lake view perfered room (martinique).
