ok Hotel Quality Inn 1441 s. manchester. YEARS ago we stayed there (it was nice then) two questions 1. IS IT still nice and 2. Wehn we stayed we walked to DL through the parking lots of the Hotels that were on Horbor Blvd. Does anyone know if you still can? OR have they built walls to prevent this. (this was 13 years ago!!!!) then can any one tell me the going price for rooms. We want Continental breakfast. We are looking at PARK VUE it is SOOOO Close.. what would be the nex close est hotels? there is a best western or something? anyway looking for the CHEEPEST one that serves Breakfast. and is not more than 4 hotels away from the crosswalk. THANKS!

I haven't seen anything about the QI that is very negative. It should be much cheaper than the others you are looking at. You can't cut through the lots anymore. Probably 50% of the Park Vue Inn.

PVI is usually the best option, because it's decent, close, warm items at breakfast, light dinner and snacks.

If you want cheap, super close and breakfast you need to look into the Desert Sol. It has a very basic breakfast and is about 25% less than the next cheapest of 4 hotels from the crosswalk.

Also look at the Ramada Maingate, while the 5th hotel from the crosswalk, it has some cheap rates. They just posted $66 for fall weekdays.

THANKS! We are not going until JUNE 2012 BUT I know once it gets closer things will get booked. I will look. the price I have NOW for Park Vue is 136 do you think I should jump on it for that price??

We have stayed at QI twice and are staying there again next week. Their free breakfast is the best of the hotels I have stayed at in the area because they have waffles you make yourself. It is clean, pretty close (maybe a ten minute walk) and inexpensive. Right now I have hit a disagreement with them, however. I booked months ago at the early bird rate which was cheaper than my military discount rate. I went to add another night yesterday and noticed that the military rate right now is the least expensive. When I added the extra night I told them that I would like to have the better advertised rate and they are refusing to give it to me. I am very close to calling back and cancelling my ressies if they do not give me the current lower price....it all depends on if I can find a better rate somewhere else this close to my trip. So, I tell you all that in warning :)

As for other hotels, Carousel is right across the street and very nice! If you have Yelp on your iphone, you can get a late check out added to your ressies for free upon check in.

Thank you for the warning. AND does Carousel have a good breakfast? I KNOW PARK VUE has a good breakfast AND afternoon meal too (if you can pry yourself away from DL :) ) and no NO iphone

Carousel has cereal, donuts, pastries, fruit, toast, juices, milk, and coffee. Quizno's is right next door and has breakfast sandwiches. An afternoon meal?! That is awesome!

Of course it's high risk, but you might want to snag it while you can.

Next June things may get insane when Carsland opens and all the close hotels may sell out. This will depend of course on two current unknowns, when exactly will Carsland open, and when are the Annual Passholder blockout for 2012(this will effect crowds a lot)?

Still that's a long way out, and not a great rate for the PVI, but a good one, and what max price this year likely will be higher next year.

yes it is. OUCH just looked online at the price! SO looking at Quality now. Which one have you stayed at?
ANYONE stay at ROADWAY INN or any of the other Choice Hotels? that are right on the DL perimiter?

We recently stayed at the Quality Inn on Manchester during a June visit. I thought it was a great deal. Our room was on the "courtyard" area, so we did not hear any freeway noise---the room was very quiet.

The room was clean, the beds were very comfy, breakfast was nice, and we felt safe the whole time during our stay. It is just a bit further walk than Hojo. You really just turn the corner---Hojo will be across the street---then walk a bit further around a sidewalk, and there's the hotel. The staff was nice, and we had no problems. If we return to the area, I would definitely stay there again without any qualms.

Editing to add....

I forgot to add also that the room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. I looked at many of the hotels in the area, and for the $$ and amenities included, this was hands down the best deal.

OK good to know next question the Qualit inn on Katella. They serve a hot breakfast. ANYONE stay there? I DO KNOW the rooms are small. BUT we have no need of the fridge. THOUGHT about the balcony rooms but do they face DL or away??
