We are looking at staying at Quality Inn at the Park. It is 1188 W Katella. It used to be a travelodge I think. Since being taken over by Quality and remodeling it looks like a great hotel. I am wondering if anyone knows if this is a walkable hotel? Someone told me you can go through the Grand California to DTD and the entrance plaza and the walk is shorter. Is this correct?
Thanks for your help!
We are trying to decide if we need to take ART. We would rather not because it can be a pain with our son's wheelchair.

I think the Quality Inn (1166 W Katella Ave.) is a 16 minute walk to the DL/DCA entrance.

850 feet (A) + 3,400 feet (B) = 4,250 feet

4,250 feet x 3 miles/hour = 16 minute walk

(A) Using wikimapia.org (the beta-version can measure distances), it’s 850 feet from the Quality Inn (link) to the intersection of Katella Avenue and Disneyland Drive (link).

(B) Using Alex Stroup’s Gmaps Pedometer (link), it’s 3,400 feet from the intersection of Katella Avenue and Disneyland Drive to the DL/DCA entrance.

I would not. That's quite a hike. I mean, it's doable, but that's going to seem really far at the end of the day. Personally, I'd prefer to stay someplace across the street from the park on Harbor, even if it's more expensive. You might want to read Hydroguy's tips, especially the hotel rule: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1520483

When are you going?

Thank you so much for the information. I would love to stay at a hotel on Harbor. I completely agree with Hydroguys hotel tip. We have 6 people in our family and this hotel is $80 a night. We also have a son in a wheelchair, so finding a big enough room can be VERY costly. We are going in July.

Thanks for the tips and info!

We have stayed at this hotel for one night. It was a last minute addition to our trip. It was inexpensive and close enough for us for one night.

The hotel is older, but it was clean. Our room was SMALL. It was just DH and I and we had enough room for us, but it was one of the smallest rooms we have been in. Our room had just one double bed in it.

It is technically close enough to walk, but it's one of the longer walks and not one that I would want to (but could) do at the end of the day. It looked like you might be able to cut through the parking lots (I think it's the Fairfield right behind it) but I didn't see any openings in the fence, although I didn't look closely since we were only there one night and had a car, we just drove ourselves over.

^ :goodvibes It sounds like the above post is talking about the "Anaheim Quality Inn & Suites" at 1441 South Manchester Avenue (link).

"fronkfam" (the OP) is asking about the "Quality Inn & Suites Anaheim at the Park" (1166 West Katella Avenue) (link).
