Well... we are back and did not suffer from anything horrible in our hotel room here.
It really was not bad at all. The rooms were clean, no bugs or anything like that. The walk to the front entrance was about 8 minutes long, just a bit farther than HOJO. Then from the front entrance you walk through security and in to the esplanade and the the entrance gates. There is a tiny little walkway out of the parking lot to get to the major sidewalk at the north end of the parking lot. From there you take a left, walk past HOJO, Mimi's, take a left and walk down Harbor. You can either cross Harbor there at the corner of Manchester or walk across at the front entrance where all the rest of the crowds cross. In the AM, I would suggest cutting through the parking lot for Mimi's and walking with the crowds . Going the other way, there is hardly any other people but you get stuck at the crosswalk where the buses enter the parking lot and often can't cross which eats up time. At night however, I would walk down this side of the street and then cross at Manchester to get back to the hotel.
Bad things... the rooms were tiny! The distance between the tv cabinet and the foot of the bad was just barely big enough for two people to pass each other turning sideways. Mind you, we had two double beds, with DS1, DS2, DH and I all in one room. We were packed in the room like sardines! We had suitcases, and crib, food, etc, etc, etc...
The bathroom was also tiny, but the shower had the nice curved curtain rod that makes the shower seem way bigger! The fridge was a bigger fridge and included a tiny little freezer space. We also had a microwave and tiny coffee maker, and an in room safe.
You cannot change the channels on the tv without the remote, so don't lose it. Lock the safe before someone accidentally does it for you and you can't get it open, (my boys

) and if you need anything try to hold your breath for the front desk to respond.
I called before our trip to request a crib, and they wouldn't reserve me one, it was first come first serve but they were suppose to take a note on my ressie and hopefully have one waiting. Well, when we checked in, my DH reminded then of the crib and the front desk said it would be delivered (this is at 1pm). We left to do some errands, and came back at 3pm, no crib. Requested a crib again... went to DTD for dinner and shopping came back around 8pm... NO CRIB! I went to the front desk very unhappy, and told then I had already asked 3 times for a crib and didn't have one, asked two other hotel employees walking about and one told me the maintenance guy (who was supposedly the only who could get the crib was on lunch). I waited for another half and hour before I went back to the front desk and finally got a crib. I ended up wheeling it back to our room myself.
Two days later, my key to the room got de-magnetized (stupid me put it next to souvenir magnets). I went to the front desk and had to stand in line again. Both times I had been to the office now, there was one person working the place and they were slow. I waited for 15 minutes before being acknowledged, and finally got a new key. Got back to the room to check it, then DH's key didn't work. Back to the office I went.... waited for another 5 minutes or so and got his key working. Then, the night before we left, we were at the park ALL DAY, and came back around 10pm to get stuff together and pack a little before leaving the next morning. Got to our room and low and behold, our keys were being denied. I had to head back up to the office and waited at least 20 minutes, while kids were outside in strollers cold, with DH, while I waited for one person to SLOWLY check in customers and watch her get delivery Chinese. I finally cut to the front and asked for new keys and we got into the room at 10:30! Ugh!
Anyways, the hotel was not bad, very clean, very well maintained. Nice LITTLE gift shop with t-shirts, souvenirs, snacks, etc. Complimentary breakfast was decent, (cereal, yougurt, danishes, muffins, coffee, juices, and make-your-own waffles). Pool looked clean but was SMALL (too cold for us to swim). I have pics but have to sort through then before I can post (I took over 800 this trip so I will have to find the ones of the hotel).
Any other questions and I will try to answer!
