Has anyone taken a Quad Runabout Stroller into the parks at WDW?

I know you can't take it on the bus because it doesn't fold, but we are driving it down anyway.

We are taking 2 yr old Triplets :dance3: and a 6 yr old :cool2: in a few weeks.

For those of you who don't know what a runabout is, it is an inline Quad Jogging Stroller. The kids sit in a straight row, so it fits through standard doorways, but it does not fold so we transport it in either the back of our full size van or hitch mount it for trips.

Is there a length limit on strollers at WDW? is it only for the Disney Transportation?

Seems to me that since there is stroller parking at most attractions, the length of the stroller shouldn't matter.

As far as maneuverability, I have owned a Peg Perego Tripelette and the Quad steers WAY better than the Peg Perego. I have a lock for it, so I am not worried about anyone stealing it (unless they bring bolt cutters into the park).

But since Disney does not rent Triple strollers...what do they expect a Single mom to do when taking 3 toddlers into the park if they don't allow my stroller? I can't push 2 double strollers.

Please tell me someone has taken a Quad runabout in the parks lately!!!

I just wanted to say I loved my runabout for my twins!

I don't think Disney would say you couldn't take it into the parks but I would think about the difficulty in strolling around the parks if the crowds are bad.

If you are going during a peak season I would suggest doing perhaps two strollers (if you have them), otherwise, I think I'd take it.

Good Luck.

Using the parking lot trams would not be an option as the strollers must be folded. So if you do take it you need to be willing to stroll it across the parking lots to get to/from your car. If you book your trip through AAA they can usually give you a diamond parking pass that can get you parking closer to the front.

The WDW Railroad and the railroad at AK also require the strollers to be folded-so those attractions wouldn't be an option unless you were willing to go without the stroller if you departed anywhere other than where you got on. Doing a full loop would be fine as the stroller would be waiting for you when you got off.

Also, although strollers do not need to be folded for the monorail the length of the quad may make it difficult so I would use the ferry over to the MK instead. There would be no issue taking the ferry over.

I know I've seen pictures posted from other Dis'rs that have used this stroller in the parks, so I think it's doable.

Oh and single with triplets let alone a 6yr old too, you're my new hero!:worship:

I haven't seen a stroller like that in the parks although I would think you could. But I don't think you would be able to lock it up, often the strollers get moved while you are in the rides/shows by the CM's, to keep things organised and tidy and if it was locked up that couldn't happen. I have never seen a stroller locked up.
Just a thought

Good friends of mine have quadruplets who are now 8 years old. When the kids were three, they took them to WDW with their runabout. They were used to manuvering it from going for walks, going to state fair, the malls, etc. around here, and really didn't feel that WDW was a problem ("If it's crowded, you just slow down and go with the flow!"...yes, they're quite mellow people...lol). I can understand wanting to lock the stroller as it costs a small fortune, but as a pp said, sometimes cm's need to rearrange strollers, and that would prevent them from doing so.

Have a fabulous and magical time!

hello!

we've taken our triple RA for the last 8 trips, and i LOVE having it!
we've seen a few quads down there over the last 4 years (and once a quint RA!)
in all those trips, i have had ONE CM tell me that the stroller was too big (but i thought he was joking so i just kept walking). i did a search and found that WDW does, indeed, have a stroller size limit. the triple RA seats (without measuring the handlebars) were close to the limit, but offhand, i couldn't tell you what it was and probably couldn't find that number again to save my life...i think the official WDW website's search function is almost as ineffective as the one here!!).

we do bring a lock, but we have only used it once or twice and that was when we parked it near the front of MK for long periods of time. we loop it around one wheel and part of the frame so it is moveable for the CMs, but no one could walk off with it without someone seeing that it obviously didn't belong to them!

there are plenty of places you can't get on with an RA (bus, tram, train, smaller ferry boats), but i wouldn't give up the freedom to be able to move all 3 of them (and in your case, the 4 of them) from point A to point B ! our RA fits into the monorail, but doubt the quad would. ours also seems to fit into most resort elevators, but not sure about the quad. we alway request a ground floor so we can roll the stroller right up inside the room and WDW has been GREAT about being able to accomodate our requests.

we always go in spring and fall and have had plenty of success with the stroller in the smaller-than-holiday/summer crowds. unlike normal outings with the RA, people seem to step BACK to look at the stroller, instead of stop you and step in your path...truly, it's like the parting of the seas sometimes and very convenient! on busy days/nights, i always put on our "cow catcher" aka the sun shade! it sticks out far enough that no one is going to put their knees or behind in the kid in the front seat's face!

despite having to pick up that front wheel to turn, i have only bumped into one (maybe two?) people in 8 trips...if you are used to manuvering the RA you'll be fine!

that said, our VERY best trip was when our kidlets were 2 1/2...it was crazy, as life in general was with them, but oh, it was priceless! you'll have a blast.
any other questions i can answer for you?

we'll be there in 2 weeks with our 6 year olds and we really struggled with the idea of whether to bring our RA...i voted yes. i'm not sure we'll need it other than Epcot nights and our late night MK night, but i'm just not ready to give up our safety blanket!

have fun, and let me know if i can answer any other questions,

I looked up the stroller size limit before we went last year because I was worried our double jogger would be too wide. Disney's web site says strollers larger than 36" x 52" are not permitted in the parks. I don't know the length of our triplet Runabout (now collecting dust in the basement) and I didn't see the length listed on Berg Design's web site. Hopefully it fits within the length limit! Have fun on your trip!

It's 56"x18", so it's bigger than Disney actually allows.
