we currently have the basic DP, but thinking about switching to the QSDP. We are staying at FW during F&W festival at Epcott. Plan on most breakfasts at the Fort with maybe 1-3 TS meals, if that.

Thought having the snack credits to use for F&W would come in handy for tasing ;)

My question is does the QSDP include counter services or are they just snacks?

Would this be worth it?

The QSDP includes two counter service meals and 2 snacks per person per day. I have never tried it, but since we got the code for it free we are trying it this summer. We have used the DDP many times in the past. It was great. If you are planning on eating several TS meals I would do some math before switching. If might not be a savings to switch. It depends on how many TS you will eat and the ages of your children. (If you are taking children)

Yes, we've done the DP before too that included 1 TS, but since we are staying at FW were wondering if we would need that.

Plus, we ARE coming with 3 kids, 2 of which will be counted as adults, so that really plays a role and ups our costs significantly.

We are thinking 2 or 3 TS meals. Going to pick which restaurants and estimate it out and go from there.

Thanks a lot !

We're also going to F&W, and I think we're going to switch to the QSDP. I'm also planning paying for two meals OOP, but should still be a better deal to downgrade to QSDP. Here's my very rough math...

QSDP - $369.85
+ 2 OOP meals (likely Akershus and Crystal Palace breakfasts) + tax & gratuity = $160.00 (approx.)
Total = 529.85

vs.

DDP - $479.95
+ Refillable mugs (something we had planned to buy for DH and me)= $25.98
+ additional tips for TS meals = $60
+ any additional snacks purchased during F&W (only 15 snack credits allotted)= ???
Total = $565.93 + ??? for additional snacks OOP

By my calculations, the QSDP and 2 OOP TS meals (gotta love all these acronyms ;)) comes out to less than what we would have spent on DDP, plus we have an additional 15 snacks on the QSDP, and an extra refillable mug for DD.

Now if we had another TS we were really dying to try, then I might have to go back and rework the numbers. And that also doesn't take into account any additional OOP dining expenses like adult beverages... but that's a wash since I would have been paying for those OOP on either dining plan. I really feel like we'll be coming out ahead on the QSDP.

Good luck in your decision!
