I am helping my close friends plan their first WDW trip for Labor Day week. They are staying at Sports with free QSDP.

What tips can I give them to make it easier for their DD14 with egg and nut allergies? She's ok with cross-contamination.

1) Ask at every QS location for the Allergy Guru (usually the manager).
2) He/she can tell them the options.
3) Please remember that this is not a TS restaurant, so no "chef" to make special dishes for the allergy person.
. . . do not look for a wide list of items from which to select
. . . the choices will have been selected/compounded and listed within their Allergy Book.
. . . sometimes there is an actual menu item other than those on the Menu Board
. . . sometimes, it is an ingredient or sauce left off a current menu item

OP, basically just tell them that she has allergies and ask for the manager or whomever at the QS restaurant deals with allergies. They will ask her what she can and cannot have, go over ingredients with her and in some cases the QS restaurants will go out of their way to make her something that she can eat. I have all the allergies in the world (really too many to name with cross contamination issues, peanuts being one of them), and they were able to easily accomodate me, and some QS's even went out of their way to make me something I could eat (that was the QS at the American pavillion in EPCOT).

As some spots there are separate allergy menus, but you have to ask for them. They should call dining and ask for the special diets line and note allergies on their reservation, They will get lots of information prior to leaving and know where to pick up the listings for allergy friendly locations. A search for "special diets" above, may turn up some good info!

Give a call to Disney dining and ask to talk to Special Diets. Many locations have an allergy friendly menu you can ask for: they can tell you how to get a listing of those locations.

Check allears.net to see if they have more info. http://allears.net/din/guestfood.htm

Thank you! They are coming over for a planning meeting tonight so this will be helpful. Just want them to have an awesome time at Disney, especially since I read all the time about how great Disney is about allergies.
