QSDP upgrade?

Hi Everyone

We have the QSDP for our trip next Oct and are considering upgrading to the DDP, just wondered if anyone had already done this and if you guys think it is worth it?

The positive point for us would be that we would go back to places we previously found expensive such as Coral Reef and try new places like the Grand Floridian Cafe. Although we are equally happy sticking to QSDP and using it at POR and the Pepper Market to get good value for money.

Any thoughts welcome

Thanks
Suzanne

I think it really depends upon how much it costs to upgrade.
How many TS meals would you get for the upgrade price?

I think we'll use more QS meals than TS ones when we're there in October, but we're a queer bunch!:lmao:

I just took 2 sentences from your post :

October has free DDP for many guests, and october is only 2 months away.

If you consider upgrading to be able to take advantage of the most expensive restaurants, make sure there is availability before upgrading, because chances are that many dates and times are already sold out.

You maybe should make your ADRs first to see if you can manage to get the restaurants you want (and then your table would be secured) and upgrade if you think it's worth it depending on the restaurants you'll get.

because to be worth it (as per your question) those restaurants seem important.
The first step would be to make sure you can eat where you want to eat

I would upgrade (and have for next year too). I also feel that many restaurants are not worth their price and we tend to do one DDP trip and then the next trip we do QSDP or OOP with TIW and that way we feel like we get the best of both worlds because we like places like IHOP and Olive Garden but would never be able to eat there when we are on the DDP (even if we double up like we always do for almost all meals).

Plus, you can still use your QS for great places like PORS Riverside Mill, Pepper Market, Wolfgang Puck Express and more.

I would have said stick to the QSDP if they still had 2 snacks bearing in mind the Food & Wine festival is on, but alas, the extra snack is no more and therefore I personally would upgrade to full DDP every time because, even free, the QSDP does not have enough value for money for me.

I have upgraded before and think its a great deal if you're only paying for the upgrade difference but then we always do a TS meal every day. Don't forget the extra cost is not just the upgrade but also am 18% tip for every TS meal you eat. I would say if you're just eating QS Riverside is a great place to stay. I think it's probably the best hotel QS on property. It's also worth looking at the cost to upgrade to a Deluxe where you will automatically qualify for the full dining plan. This might come in close to upgrading your food.

Hi guys

Thanks so much for your responses. We are due to go next October not this so plenty of time to sort! :)

We have enquired, and for the 3 of us it will be around £350 to upgrade to the DDP from the QSDP.

I think for that price we would be silly not to, plus we would then get to eat wherever (so long as we can book a table!) and eat what we want off the menu. It would be nice to go and not have to worry about how much it will cost! :cool1:

Again thanks.
Ian
