Just curious if anyone has any counter service restaurants that you recommend that aren't inside a park? We are staying at Ft Wilderness but wouldn't mind venturing out to other resorts. Any recommendations? We just have a few days that I chose the big meal for lunch and dont plan to spend all day at that park.

Thanks!

Mine are at DTD, Wolfgang Puck, Esrl of Sandwich, and Cookes of Dublin.

WPE @ DTD - best CS in the World.
Captain Cooks @ Poly - Dole Whip on tap. :lovestruc
Haven't been, but am very interested for our next trip: Contemp @ CR.

Wolfgang and Earl of Sandwich both look delicious as far as menu goes... looks like downtown disney here we come!

Captain Cooks at Poly...excellent BBQ pork sandwiches and adult grilled cheese. Quick hop over there when at MK.

Wolfgang Puck Express also delicious and I think the best CS value, but sometimes a pain to get to.

We really enjoyed Wolfgang Pucks in DTD. It was great to be able to sit down and be looked after even though it is QS. You just have to order your food at the counter, get your drink and go sit down. The rest is looked after.

We were too full to have another meal while at DTD so we didn't get to try Earl of Sandwich, although I wanted to.

...I always stop for the Earl od Sandwich, the Original (I think that is what it is called) is wonderful...and the Hawaiian!!!

The Food Court at POR has made to order pasta and salads. I always get a Magic Cookie Bar while we are there as well!

Earl of Sandwich has a sandwich, may be seasonal, that's turkey, dressing and cranberry sauce. Sounds yuck but it's really yummy!

I would recommend going to the following locations.

Contempo Cafe which is located at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

Boardwalk Bakery which is located at Disney's Boardwalk Inn & Villas.

Earl of Sandwich which is located at Downtown Disney Marketplace.

Another vote for WPE always eat there a couple of times on every trip:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I always like the Dolphin Fountain. It's good, especially after a round of mini golf. I don't think it takes the dining plan, if you're on it.

Artist's Palette at Saratoga Springs does some yummy flatbreads if that's your thing :)

We love to visit other resorts and usually stop by POR for a QS meal and that has already been mentioned above but we also like the food court at POP.

Everyone else is right - Wolfgang at Downtown is the bees knees! Just make sure to go to the Marketplace one - the West Side one is rubbish by comparison.

But I have also enjoyed a tasty wrap at The Mara in Animal Kingdom Lodge, which has amazing theming and live animals strolling the grounds. I think DH had a really nice salad that was made fresh in front of us too.

I also enjoy eating at the Grand Floridian's Gasparilla Grill outside on their terrace. Everything is cooked to order so you order and are given a beeper/buzzer to let you know when your food is ready at the counter. The room inside is a bit bleurgh as it is just very functional with some games machines, but take your tray just outside and there are some nice views around the resort and onto the lake to take in with your meal. It's the freshest QS I have had in WDW as it is all cooked to order.

Generally speaking all the Deluxe resorts have nice QS locations I think that take the food range or atmosphere up a notch from the values and mods (except POR which is also meant to be great).
