I have purchased the QS dining plan but have a couple questions.
If I understand correctly there is 2 QS meals per day and 1 snack is this correct? so here is my first question. for example Starring rolls list the cinnamon roll as a "snack" does this mean we get a "snack" credited deducted even though we plan on having this for breakfast which leaves 2 QS meals on the plan for the balance of that day? this is all new to me we have never been to disney, any advice, tips would be appreciated.

You receive 2 QS credits and one snack credit per NIGHT you stay. Not per day. You get them all at once and then it's up to you how to use them. You do not have to use 2 a day. You can use 3 in a day or 4 in a day or none, just so long as you use them all up by the end of your trip.

You redeem meal credits for meals. The snack credit is if all you want is the cinnamon roll. I think for a meal credit you can get the roll plus a drink. There is no dessert with breakfast so you'd just be giving up the dessert allotment.

It would be a snack credit. Many times on our last trip we used our snack credits for breakfast, like a muffin at the hotel counter service. As PP stated... You get two QS one snack a day for each night you stay. You can use as many snacks and QS per day as you like. Hope this helps.

Just to add more color, per night means if you are staying 3 days/2 nights, you'd get a grand total of 4 QS meals and 2 snacks to use however you want whenever you want over the course of your 3 days. You'd have to use them all by midnight on your check-out day.

A cinnamon roll would be a snack credit no matter what time of day you order it and no matter what meal you intend to eat it for. If you want to use your snack credit for this as your breakfast, then yes you would still have 2 QS meals to use for lunch and dinner that day if you want. Lots do this since breakfast doesn't come with dessert, which is a lesser value on the plan.

OP, you are going during Epcot Food & Wine Festival. Best use of your snack credits is for the small plates of food at F&W. There is a F&W brochure (coming soon) describing all the offerings. At F&W each kiosk has a large menu board and most food offerings have a purple DP logo after, which means you can use a snack credit for that item. Not allowed for alcohol. At the American Pavilion, the Lobster roll ($7) in past years has been covered by a DP snack credit!

IMO, I know there isn't much for breakfast at HS. But I would hesitate to spend a snack credit on something as low priced as a cinnamon roll. Or spend a CS credit on a roll and a beverage. I would pay for that out-of-pocket. Tip: you can order large size beverage with your CS order, no extra charge. And a few park CS places have self-serve free refills.

Here's a list of snacks (and prices) covered by the Dining Plan snack credits, from the DISboards Dining Plan Forum. It doesn't list special event Epcot F&W or Epcot F&G kiosk items. Very popular is anything from MK Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. Favorite is Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich - very large item, also at MK Sleepy Hollow.

No lobster roll this year! It's been replaced by Baked Lobster Alfredo. No prices yet.

So a quick service meal consists of a drink, meal and dessert. I'm assuming you can pick anything off the menu that is a dessert item for your dessert? They won't charge you a snack credit as I would think some of the desserts would also be considered snacks? I'm sure I will understand it all better once I am there, but having never been on a Dining plan before, it can be a bit confusing to try and figure out from afar! :confused3

This is right. If you are using a QS meal entitlement, you can select any non-alcoholic beverage, entree, and dessert from the menu at the QS place you choose to eat at. No restrictions I can think of on QS meals.

Should be noted here that the entree or combo meal plus beverage plus dessert entitlement for meal credits is for lunch and dinner. Using a QS meal credit for breakfast would get you only the entree or combo meal and the beverage, since breakfast does not include a dessert, and you don't get to choose anything in lieu of the dessert. Used to be they would allow an extra beverage, but that ended in 2011.

If you're ordering breakfast and you want to get a scrambled eggs combo meal and a drink, then you could use a snack credit if you also wanted a cinnamon roll or a piece of fruit. You could also purchase the extra item off the dining plan, and pay for it.

Some places will let you get a "continental breakfast" consisting of a baked good, fruit and a beverage. It depends on the restaurant as to how strict they are. Some of them say things like you can only have a whole piece of fruit as part of a continental, not a fruit cup. Some will let you have two baked goods and a beverage.

Cereal plus milk is considered a QS meal. You can get the cereal and the milk to put on the cereal, plus a beverage. If you wanted just the cereal and the milk to put on it, you'd use 2 snack credits - one for the cereal, and one for the milk. This started because it used to be that you could get both the cereal and the milk with one snack credit, but it's now counted as a meal.

I wouldn't waste a meal credit on breakfast. We always take oatmeal packets, add hot water from the coffee maker, and maybe use a snack credit to 'buy' some fruit. That way we start with a sort of healthy breakfast, and have meal credits for lunch and dinner.
