QS plan Please help a newbie

I know that the QS plan has a lot of variety of foods but I wanted to make this a special vacation food wise too. Can you use dining credits for shows or are they all oop. Are the shows worth it? They are REALLY expensive. What have you done in the past? I have two boys 16 and 12 and a daughter who is 8. I don't want it to seem like we are eating burgers and pizza all week. Go to allearsnet.com and check their dining page for the menus. QS at WDW is NOT all burgers and pizza. We went for 5 days in 2009 on the QSDP and I only had one burger the whole time (and I wanted that one).

You cannot use QSDP for any table service meals including the shows. You'll either have to pay OOP or upgrade to the regular DDP which gives you 1 TS, 1 QS, 1 snack per day per person.

We did the QSDP in December and loved it. We had burgers only one time - by choice. There are some great food options on the plan.

You have to pay OOP for any TS or buffets. We did a reservation for Fantasmic so we would have preferred seating (my son is 18 so we did it for convenience of preferred seating rather than overall experience). It was at Hollywood & Vine. The food wasn't awful but it wasn't spectacular. I must admit, our experience was not that great. Not because of the food or service - the staff was very kind and helpful. The food was good. However, there was a couple seated one table over who ignored their child's dirty diaper. It was so disgusting that all 3 of us stopped eating! Perhaps even more disturbing was the fact that the parents just kept eating. BARF!!!!

Anyway... we are headed back in October and we are doing a split reservation. Deluxe dining plan first night and quick service the rest of the trip!
