QS over DP, does my discount logic make sense?

We wanted to try Pop for 7 nights and were hoping for a code. It's $1,602 for 2 adults, 1 child, 5 day PH tickets, with quick service dining at Pop. POR Riverside would be $2,155 for the same tickets with the regular dining plan. The difference between the two is $553.

With our current dining reservations, we can do 5 of our sit downs for $345. (no tax included) The only 2 I didn't price out were Le Cellier and Mama Melroses' due to variations in what might be order. I also didn't figure tip as they are paid with the dining plan also.

To get to my point/question, is my logic correct that I can stay at Pop getting the QS plan and all of my sit downs for the same money as Riverside? The advantage I see is that I am getting 2 QS meals instead of 1 per day so I feel like I am actually ahead. I know this seems obvious, but I have a 1 yo that doesn't want to sleep and I am sleep deprived! :headache: TIA for helping out a tired mom of 2 and I hope all of my rambling makes sense!

It is a toss up because of a few things.

1) tip is not included any longer on the dining plan, nor are appetizers.

2) depending upon what you eat your costs may go up.

3) have you priced staying at POP but paying to upgrade to the regular dining plan? I am not sure of the cost of this - maybe 10.00 per day per adult, the children I am not sure about.

I found my son who was considered an adult at the time didn't really eat adult meals at sit down restaurants but ate better with counter service choices.

Hope that helps some. :goodvibes

You can upgrade the QS to the regular DP and still stay at POP. What are your dates? If they are 2011, I think the upgrage is 10 per adult per day.

yep that sounds about right... and you get one more snack item per day per person... so that is about $3-5 per snack...

With all of that food I do not know if you would even want to do 5 TS meals :)

We are eating at 5 restaurants that have set prices, family style and buffets. I actually made my reservations already since we are going in January. My one DS is 4 and the other will be 20 months. The youngest will eat free at all of those restaurants.

Our other 2 reservations would be the only places that the cost would change. With our cost still being $200 less than Riverside, I could spend $100 at each restaurant and we would then break even per say.

That is wonderful to know! I would imagine it wouldn't be much to upgrade a child. I think I will wait until the rush of calls dies down before I try to call and take care of that. I can't imagine waiting an hour to get through! :scared1:
