When we travel in October, we've selected MK days that are party days due to (hopefully) lower crowds. Unfortunately, that means leaving the park by 7pm. On our second MK day, we have a lunch reservation at CRT and planned to eat quick service dinner. I figured we would return to Pop Century for quick service dinner, or walk over to Art of Animation. However, we may try to stay in the park until we absolutely have to leave, and that could mean not getting "home" until after 8 - pretty late for dinner for our kids (and us!) Are there any quick service places at the monorail resorts or other nearby areas we should consider if we are starving and want to eat sooner?

I haven't been there myself, (okay, I have, but I was really little so I can't actually remember much about it) but I've heard awesome things about Gasparilla Island Grill at GF. I was thinking about planning a meal there myself. I believe it's been recently refurbished too, which is always nice!

I second Contempo Cafe, we've stayed there a couple of times and have eaten there several times and everything is always good.

Thanks for suggestions! If we took the boat from MK to either Wilderness lodge or Grand Floridian, is it the same boat/dock or do those board different places? Do you walk from the MK to boat dock, or do you have to link by monorail? Sorry - we stay at values and use busses, so I know there's some weirdness with MK, monorail, parking at TTC, but I don't know how it all connects :confused3

Grand Floridian and Polynesian share a boat.
Wilderness Lodge, Contemporary, and Fort Wilderness share another boat.

Both depart from the docks directly in front of MK - walk straight out of the gates at MK, under the monorail track, and look straight ahead for the signs indicating which dock you need. These are NOT the same docks as the large ferry boats that go back and forth to the TTC (which is farther along the path toward the bus zones).

Alternately, to get to the Contemporary you can walk - exit the gates at MK, bear left, and stay on the sidewalk under the monorail tracks. It's less than a five minute walk to the Contemporary.

You can also use the RESORT monorail to get to the Contemporary (1st stop), the Polynesian (3rd stop), or the Grand Floridian (4th stop).
The EXPRESS monorail will only cycle back and forth between MK and the TTC. Don't use that one.

To get "home" from any of them, reverse your path and head back to the MK to catch the bus back to your resort. Those buses will run all night, since the party will be going on at MK until late.

Yep, I'd recommend Contempo Cafe. Lots of choices. Flatbreads, burgers, salads, soup, etc etc. Here's the menu from All Ears.

Contempo Cafe

I guess I am in the minority here but we stayed at Contemporary in. May and we really disliked Contempo, although we have had decent meals there years before. I would chose Wl or Poly. Not a fan of Gf cs either.

Like the flatbreads and cupcakes at Contempo.

Love the Aloha pork sandwich and Dole whip at Capn Cooks at the Poly.
