I've just read all allergy menus I can find for QS locations in the parks. DD has a trip with her band and will only be permitted to stay in the theme park where her group is dropped off each day. They get QS meal vouchers and no snacks. Every allergy menu I found at QS in-park locations has the same "chocolate chip cookie" as the only diary allergy dessert. Seriously?! :( The same cookie for QS lunch and dinner everywhere! :sad2: I am not going with her, so no Mom-fix...

Please, please, please post if you have found a dairy-free dessert other than chocolate chip cookie at an in-park QS location in the last year.

You could email special diets for the dairy allergy list. I dunno, my kids don't ever get dessert so even a cookie was welcome for them.

So as I understand the credit change you can turn a QS credit in to 3 snack credits to make your own lunch, maybe that could expand her options.

At Sunshine Seasons Food court at Epcot has tons of dairy free options with a section just for special dietary treats. That is where I found tons of goodies for myself and my son who are lactose intolerant. They also serve fruit cups. In Magic Kingdom, at Be our Guest for lunch (QS) they served us a lemon sorbet as our dessert. At Colombia Harbour House they have a dairy free brownie which is really yummy. Usually I just forgo on the dessert and use my snack credits to get snacks in the park that are dairy free like popsicles, Dole Whip, Rice Dream or Toffuti ice cream

Thanks. I'm awaiting reply from SpecialDiets. I hope she can use the meal to snack option because all the best DF treats seem to be snacks.
Maybe the new menu lists cookie hoping you'll choose it rather than something else but they have other options if you ask? Here's hoping...

If this is a school trip, the school should also be helping with finding appropriate foods for students with allergies - the trip is on their watch, and they are liable for issues. While only being offered a cookie is not a huge liability issue, they may be able to help get her a popsicle, etc, instead. Is there a chaperone you can contact?

My daughter went with her band and the qs meal was in the form of a voucher. She wasn't able to redeem it for anything but what the voucher specified. It wasn't like using a QS dining credit for 3 snacks. So beware there--it may or may not work.

The school has a responsibility (IF there is documentation in the form of a 504 plan) yes but I HIGHLY doubt that a student who doesn't like what the option is vs. isn't given an option is going to be anything that the government would entertain. Also as a HS student, there is some amount of self reliance they need (which the OP IS doing by asking here).

Yes, but sometimes it takes an adult to help push along a situation - if one student asks for a popsicle instead of a cookie, the easy answer is no. Would the student feel comfortable asking for a manager? But if a chaperone knows the situation ahead of time, and is there to back up the student, to me there seems like there's a better chance to get an exchange item.

Of course the OP's daughter could just go out to a cart and buy a popsicle and give the dessert that came with the voucher to another student.
