QS Dinner at AK

We're doing a late breakfast/early lunch at Tusker House, so I'd like to do just a quick service for dinner. We did Flame Tree last year based on recommendations here, but weren't super impressed by it. I'd like somewhere pretty relaxed as we will use this time to regroup before we take in ROL. I'm considering heading over to AKL to eat at their quick service, but I know that's a big time suck in transport. How early will I need to be back to get in the standby line for ROL? we've never seen it before. Is there somewhere else I should consider? TIA!

Does the food at Harambe appeal to you at all? That would be my choice. Other than that, you've got Pizzafari and Restaurantasaurus and the Yak n Yeti QS. Of course you could also wander into Pandora and eat at Satu'il.

We like the Yak & Yeti quick service.

I would not waste the time to go to AKL and back.

Have you considered trying to get a Tusker House ROL dining package?

I want to try Yak and Yeti QS (we enjoyed the table service restaurant). I have also heard good things about the new Pandora QS.

We love Harambe Market. I like the ribs there much better than what I got at Flame Tree.
I haven't been to Satuli Canteen yet, but it gets good reviews. I think we're going to try it out in December.

Do you have a fastpass for ROL or will you do standby.

We just went last week and had a fastpass for ROL but we wanted dinner too so we chose Yak and Yeti counter service. I had the honey chicken. We ate pretty late. It was actually the second time we ate there and we had lunch too. We only chose it because it was the closest to ROL and we were running out of time.

I have to say that the dinner was not served as hot as the lunch was.

This trip we also did the counter service at Harambe Market. My ds had the ribs and they were huge. I think I had the chicken skewers and they were ok.

We did the Satuli Canteen for lunch too and the salad was good. The salad I chose was the kale one with chicken and creamy herb dressing. Ds had the cheeseburger pods, Too much dough, not enough meat. The cheesecake (blueberry one) was good.,

I like the chicken ceaser salad at Restrauntsaurus too.

We really liked Satuuli Canteen at AK. We ordered in the MDE app and we just walked in and picked it up. So easy and a big time saver. The chicken bowl was very tasty. If you have kids with you, my girls don't care for hot dogs and they liked the crescent dogs at SC. And mousse dessert is ok, a little overrated IMO but if time permits I would check it out. However, as far as time, where are you coming from that you aren't already in AK?? You can be in and out of Satuuli pretty fast if you do mobile ordering. Not sure when you need to head to standby for ROL. Is there two showtimes that night you are there? If so, the first show will be more crowded than the second show.

Half of our group will have an available FP+ to use on it, but the other half won't unless they can get a SDFP+ which I find somewhat hard to imagine. Hmm, just checked https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/animal-kingdom/rivers-of-light/ for that date and it shows no times available. I am guessing it's just one show, maybe 7 or so, AK shows a closing time of 8pm on 1/6. It may even be earlier so your dinner may need to be adjusted. However that's the benefit of QS, you can adjust without having to worry about a reservation. You'll be fine.

I like Pizzafari. The food is just acceptable, but it's indoors, which is most important-no begging (or worse) birds, and warm or cool depending on what you need. Also, there's a variety of rooms-the one in the back is usually relatively peaceful (except at prime mealtimes).

I looked at the menu and I think this is what we're going to do! I love that we can order on the app, too! Thanks for all the advice!
