Hello! We leave bright and early Thursday morning for our very first stay at Bay Lake Towers.:cool1: My children are taking friends on this vacation, so we will have five teenagers traveling with us. My initial plan was to purchase the QS Dining Plan, but after really contemplating it, I began wondering if I'd be better off just giving each child money for each day that we are there.

So, the clock is ticking and I have very few hours left to add the dining plan if I decide to do so, and I need your help. Should I add the plan or just give each kid money? If I give each kid money, how much would you give them per day? I'm covering their meals, and their parents are sending extra money for snacks, souvenirs, etc. Would $25 per day cover two QS meals per day? We'll eat breakfast in our room. TIA for any help!:)

$25 may be cutting it close for two CS meals. I would look up the prices of meals on allears.net to get a better idea.

When I analyzed the CS meal plan for our family I found that it would be less expensive to pay out of pocket. Then again, I don't have teenagers that may want snacks, sodas, or desserts.

QS entrees run $8-$12 each. Beverages are under $3. Snacks/desserts can run $2-$5.

So for just food, $25 should be enough, but could be cutting it close if you want to give room for some snacking. I'd probably give $30 per day, maybe even $35. (still less than the price of the QSDP)

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking $25 would cover their lunch and supper as well as a drink at a QS restaurant. They are paying for their own snacks. I'm wondering now if I should give them $30 instead of $25 just to make sure they have enough. Isn't the QSDP $37 per day? Now I'm wondering if I should just purchase it so they can have the mug while we're at the resort as well. Several of us only drink water though, so that's why I thought maybe the refillable mug would be a waste of money. Decisions.....decisions. LOL!:confused3

I would add it. Especially if some of the teens will be off on there own. I hate worrying about food cost while in the world. Like pp said alot of the CS meals after tax and drink are going to be close to 15.00 if not a bit more.

Well, the QSDP is really a poor monetary choice. Paying OOP is cheaper. However ... I think I would get it in your situation. I think that it's a much better choice for a pack of hungry teenagers who will be on their own a lot.

The teens will likely go around on their own. Does the QS plan include 2 QS meals with drinks and desserts plus one snack? Thanks so much!

Thank you! I went ahead and called DVC and added the QS plan. I don't think I would have saved much money, if any, by paying OOP, and this way I know they will all have food.:goodvibes Thanks again for all of the fast replies!
