first thank you for any advice, I am a total newbie here

We have two rooms, 6 adults and 1 child. We were thinking about getting the QS DDP for the room with four people in it. We will be there for 8 days. From the research we have done a lot of places you can share meals because there is just so much food.

Is it a good idea to go with the QS DDP on the 4 person room only or no plan at all? We are not doing any character meals nor table service meals.

It depends. It's very difficult to get full value on the QSDP. The adult cost is $48.19 pp/pnight of stay. You need to "spend" about $19 on each and every QS meal just to break even (allowing $5 per snack). With just an entree and a drink, you need to do some research or at least look at the menus of where you think you might eat to see if it will be worth it. It's not impossible to spend that much, but it does take some work.

As to sharing, yes there are a few places where you can share and probably get enough, but if you are 6 true adults or have some hungry teen boys in the mix, sharing may not work. Even if you can, you still need to "spend" the $19 per meal to make the plan worth it.

Last year I would have said yes (and a lot of the meals are shareable) but with the new configuration it's hard to break even on it. If the child is one of the four, it's a little better, but it's still a narrow margin.

The qs ddp makes no financial sense. That being said, your best bet is to make sure the child is in the room that will get the qs ddp with 3 adults. This way you will pay for 3 adults and one child but because qs does not differentiate between adult and child meals you would be able to use the child credits for adult meals, if you so wish thereby saving you quite a bit of money.
