Is there a decent QS lunch at HS or are we better served at the Boardwalk / Beach Club area?

I think HS is the one park where some really good restaurants are needed. We have tried Starring Rolls, very good sandwiches and cupcakes and ABC Commissary has an Asian salad we enjoy.

If it's just me & DH, definitely Starring Rolls. The sandwiches are good and the pastries are wonderful - including the enormous Red Velvet and Butterfinger cupcakes.

If you are with a group, the group of QS stands as you head towards ToT function like a big food court and have shared seating, so the group can split up to order and come back to eat. Some of those fancy new hot dogs have DD's name written all over them.

For lunch, I would definitely stay at HS rather than use the QS options at the Epcot-area resorts. For dinner, on the other hand, I'd take the boat to any of the resorts or Park Hop to Epcot.

Thanks for suggestions... Good tips - especially since I didn't want Pizza Planet with DDs. Anybody tried Backlot Express or the Commissary?

We struggle with this each trip. This year, we're going to Beaches and Cream for TS credits.

We feel better served by going elsewhere... have tried Backlot, Commissary and Staring Rolls - of those we like Backlot the best because it was edible (Commissary was not) and didn't involve a 40 minute wait in a tiny area with people bumping into you (sorry Staring Rolls! Never again!).

Starring Rolls is very good but also very small and can get crowded on busy days.

Commissary is terrible. I ordered a cheeseburger. It was dry, barely warm and tasted like cardboard molded into a patty. Possibly other menu items are ok.

Sorry to say but the qs restaurants in hs are definitely lacking in quality. We did the backlot express on our last trip in November and it was horrible, cold, and overcooked. Starring rolls is the best imo. Next trip I think I would rather take the boat over to epcot and eat there instead.

We actually really liked Backlot Express when we went in December. We tried Studio Catering Co. in 2012 and liked that as well.

QS at the Boardwalk pretty much is just the Boardwalk Bakery - you can get a sandwich or salad. Beach Club Marketplace is an option too but that's really about it.
