My DH & I want to parasail together at Castaway, for anyone who has done this w/ little kids, where can the kids stay so we can go together?
My DD (5yr) & I want to do the dolphin encounter (hubby opting for spa), I am looking for all the details-good or/and bad. Does the price included any pictures, etc?

What about checking your little one into the Oceaneer's Club on Castaway for the time period you and your DH are parasailing?

I believe that would be solution you're looking for!

Minnie's Pal - If you go over to the cruise trip reports board, I have a detailed report under "1/24 Eastern Magic saga -Day 4"

Just a note about the Dolphin Encounter excursion offered by DCL. During the encounter you stand on a underwater (waist deep) grate and just look at the dolphin while the guides allow some touching. If you book the same excursion directly from the same place and for about the same money called the Royal Swim you actually do stunts in the water with the dolphins, a much better deal for your money. The link to the dolphin swim at Chankanaab Park is www.dolphindiscovery.com

And this is at Nassau? Anyone ever booked privately w/o going through Disney? what was your experience like?

No, this was at Cozumel on the Western Cruise. The only bad thing about booking directly that I noticed is that if you book an early excursion at a port that requires using a tender, Disney does give preference to guests booking through them and you could wind up being late to shore.

I just want to know more about Parasailing... anyone got any stories.... trying to convince my family to do it with me....

My DD12 just went parasailing at CC last Friday. My DH was on the boat (he paid for the excursion because DD had to be 13 to sign up) but he didn't parasail. He took lots of fabulous pictures though. DD ended up going tandem with her friend and they had a ball. (Though my daredevil daughter did not think it was very exciting!) I think she thought she was going to drop from a plane or something.LOL

You sit in a harness-type apparatus toward the end of the boat deck and the parachute is always inflated off the end of the boat. The operators let out a rope on a winch and you are clipped to the rope. As they let out the rope, you go higher and higher. My daughter took pictures with her waterproof camera. She was in the air about 7-8 minutes before they start reeling you in. They give you a last-minute gentle dip in the water but you land on the boat standing up! She enjoyed it but I guess her adventure streak is a lot stronger than we thought!

My DD(10) and I parasailed last Firday also at CC. She and I both thought it was incredible. It wasn't scary to her at all and she is not a daredavil whatsoever. The flight is so peaceful. The gentleman that was driving our boat was awesome. There were no jerky motion or anything. It was very smooth from start to finish. I cannot say enough good things about this.
