QEW thru St. Catharines closed most of the weekend

Not sure if this effects anyone travelling to BUF this weekend, but they're closing the QEW this weekend for construction. Just an FYI.

No problem, I know I would hate a nice surprise detour on my route to the airport so thought I would give anyone who needs it a heads up.

FWIW - if you are Niagara bound - I'd get off BEFORE the 406 - where they are detouring you around the closure!! One option (which is DEFINITELY scenic - but should be "quicker") is to take Hwy 8 - very twisty-turny but also very scenic!

I live in St. Catharines and planned all my shopping trips etc that would take me anywhere near the QE for today as I didn't want to get caught up in the fiasco tomorrow!
