Q January, 2017, AP offer for free one day 'friend' ticket

For the first time I may be able to utilize an AP offer

Appears as though you have to call & pick a specific date to obtain the free ticket. Not sure yet what day I want to use during my stay. Can you wait until a day prior to request?

Can you switch the date to another in January if your plans change?

If anybody has utilized in the past can you walk me thru the procedure involved to get the ticket?

To answer my own question

Ordered online for upcoming Friday (4 days prior), had to give name of guest & pick a date.

Thanks for the update! I just activated my pass yesterday and registered it online. I saw where I could order the free ticket but didn't know if I needed put in the date and was too lazy to check. That's good to know - I'll wait until I know who/when that's ticket is for then.
