For our May trip my wife and I are bringing my mother along so she can have some quality grandmothering time at DLR, and because it has been my mom's lifelong dream to stay at the Disneyland Hotel, we got a couple of rooms there.

My mother has congestive heart failure and moderately bad knees, so she will need an oxygen concentrator in her room at night and she will be using an ECV. She assures me that she does not need any of the particular modifications you would find in an accessible room (like no roll-in shower or anything) but she believes she may need an accessible room anyway because otherwise the door might not be wide enough to accomodate her ECV in the room.

Does anyone have any experience with this? We don't want to take an accessible room from someone who really needs it if she can get her ECV in the door of a non-modified room.

TIA!

I do know they have wheelchair accessible rooms at the Grand Californian and I would presume that the DH and PPH both have also. You should give the hotels a call and place that request in your profile. :)

When I called to make reservations for GCH, they told me all 3 hotels have fully accessible rooms, as well as some rooms that are a bit "roomier" (but without the roll in shower, etc.) You can call the hotel and tell them the exact requirements and they will find a room which meets your needs.

Have a great time!

My mom had no problem at the DH for her ECV. Everyone at the DH was also very nice and very accomodating to help her with whatever she needed.
