PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

I’ve said before I think it’s a bit of a shame Disney couldn’t have finished the Floridian Way widening/golf course work/Poly entrance reconfiguration/SOG entrance rebuild before the Tower opened. Still many months of looking at a pretty ugly project there, unfortunately. I’m withholding full judgement until all of that is finished, personally.

It’s one reason why I applaud the decision to take up high value points space and make those two lagoon side gardens. Great to have options for other places to go if your view isn’t so great.

Staying on the 4th floor premium duo for the night. I took a video earlier but that won’t post here so here’s some terrible screenshots from that video lol. It’s very private feeling but yeah the recessed aspect is not great. @ehh you have it exactly correct that if you stand all the way to the right of the balcony you can see the castle and likely fireworks but I mean completely pressed against that wall lol there’s a Christmas party tonight so sadly no HEA for us. We’re actually in a duo SV for marathon weekend so we’ll see just how terrible those views are lol tbh I’d prefer the lower front grounds than a higher up preferred view of all the Floridian way construction but we’ll see.
Marathon weekend is our first visit. Do you know if the race comes past the tower? Is there somewhere specific we would need to go to see the runners?

Nice, see you then! I believe the marathon does run past between mile 7+8 so reasonably early in the race.

We own at BLT and PVB. We stayed BLT TPV once. The first room they assigned us back then was 3rd or 4th floor. Fortunately they moved us to another floor after we complained. Within 1-2 years, that original room was changed to SV. Ever since then, we refused to stay anything but SV or LV at BLT. Honestly, received as good or better views at BLT for SV points multiple times.

We have stayed at PVB longhouses LV. Higher floors are good views, but you can still get palm trees blocking some of the view. Also, a bit odd to have bungalows in the view. Still good enough we have stayed there twice.

Island Tower TPV (at least from our room) put those to shame. The building is so close to the lagoon, it feels much better. Also, seeing over the top of Poly buildings was something I didn’t expect. Seeing so much of MK, also seeing Epcot, Swan, Dolphin, and Tower of Terror brings out the kid in me. For reference, first visit to WDW was 73 or 74.

Another comparison, we were at Riviera preferred view 7th floor (same floor we have at Island Tower). Loved the view. However, it’s set back from the lake there. Great to overlook the quiet pool.

A couple of other things to mention. Our aliding door to the balcony is extremely heavy. There is no way my wife could open or close it. I suspect this is because the glass sliding door is far better quality to keep out more noise than the longhouses have. 13 hours ago I was opening our longhouse glass balcony door so I know it was easier.

Noticed tonight that when the balcony door is open, the AC/heat is smart enough to turn off. System completely blocked. Once I closed the balcony door, system showed temp and I could adjust it.

Huh interesting. I agree the doors are very sturdy and feel like they would block noise much better than the longhouses (how was the fireworks from a bit ago? We’re not back in our room yet) but it wasn’t so heavy that we had any trouble opening it. Wonder if yours just needs to be oiled up a bit more lol

FWIW, I noticed it looks like Disney has changed the "Standard View" category to "Resort View" across the various Poly hotel and DVC web pages.
This seems confusing to me since the BPK rooms are 'Resort' rooms, so now there is a resort studio with resort view at GF. And there are resort view duo studios in the tower at PIT and tower studios with resort view at RR (which are essentially the same thing).

Hey DVC, there are a lot of words in the english language. You don't have to keep using the same nine words over and over lol.

Sorry Merlin, Paul has 29K YouTube followers and you don’t 🤣
So you think 😏…no but actually I really don’t lol and I thought that maybe it was for that reason but I didn’t want to assume it was just influencers. All good I didn’t expect anything. I just thought by the way he made it kind of sound that it was an opening day gift for all but he wouldn’t really know either way so it’s not his fault.

I’m really liking what they did with the tower but I just saw a video that raises some interesting points I didn’t realize about the tower and first criticism’s I have heard that wasn’t “the tower doesn’t belong here!” Or “it’s ugly!”. It shows the standard views and a limited view from the duo studios, are all the standard views and duo studios like that?? Or is it too early to know?

Thx. That video was very informative & I've subscribed... 👍
About standard views: While the Tower front/monorail view is a mess now due to road construction, that may be going on for quite a while. And depending upon actual room location/floor, constant traffic could be problematic for some.
I wouldn't mind limited views from Duo balconies being inset, but for some it could be disappointing.
It remains to be seen whether the lack of a gift shop/grocery/take-out in the Tower is an inconvenience for guests, but for sure that increases GCH people traffic by a lot. More lines, wait times, crowds? Make it make sense. 🤷‍♀️

Just watching this (sitting in one of the garden terraces!) and I noticed they got a little gift in their room, wonder if that was just for some rooms or maybe those staying on cash since we didn’t have anything. Did you @maui22?
We didn’t receive any gift in the room. On checkin, the room card they gave is considered a commemorative room card? Also, thanks to Tikiman, learned if we asked at the DVC kiosks, they gave out grand opening leis.

They also started selling really thin t-shirts, limited release (or maybe it was edition) pins, coffee mugs. We weren’t impressed, but DW convinced me to get the t-shirt.
