PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

Another subtle gripe that I don’t think anyone else has mentioned here. The weird lobby mushroom. Is it supposed to mimic a tree? A beach umbrella? It doesn’t look like either - it just looks mushroomy. They have these in the new Epcot World Celebrations area too and I don’t understand it thematically there either. Why? Who is this maniac obsessed with hiding shrooms all over Disney? Can we get something functional instead? Or at least nice to look at? SMH.
The mystical mushroom is another one of my "but why" exterior design moments.

In the original design (and artwork) there was a second floor terrace there and the "Mushroom" stalk was it's main support and the "Mushroom" top was it's protective cover. That terrace is also the reason there is a second floor walkway inside the lobby that goes over to the windows, where a door to the terrace would have been located. For some unknown reason they cancelled the terrace but kept the "Mushroom" and the walkway.

Correct, and I would have been fine with that, but if you're going to scrap the terrace portion, then scrap the entire thing - mushroom top and all. They'd be better off with additional natural foliage.

Exactly! A built in planter with a couple of nice palm trees and an incorporated bench would have been great. It would have looked better from inside the lobby as well.

Yes. I understand that they wanted it flat on top for the roof/viewing structure but once that went away you could have rethemed this feature! It would not have taken a lot to make this into a more cabana/umbrella type thing. It kind of matches the midcentury touches the did with the penthouse roof swoop (which I also hate fwiw) but I don’t understand what either element actually adds to the overall aesthetic. The interiors look like they will be amazing in this building - but I don’t understand how the interior and exteriors of this building relate at all. (Did any of this stop me from buying PIT? It did NOT, so clearly I’m nitpicking).

I do wish that in the initial design phase they had gone into the same attention to detail on the exterior as the interior. I have the same types of gripes with the initial renderings of the Reflections stuff from years back. I’m a small scale (single house or small 3-4 apartment flat) renovater so I am sure that a lot of these things break down to cost issues, mechanical or maintenance needs that I don’t understand.

We went to the Poly this morning for breakfast, honestly the different balconies don’t look terrible together. The whole building just stands out and is different so it oddly works. Curious to see what others think when you see it in person!

Will be at Poly this weekend. I am SURE I will have an opinion! :poop:

Can’t wait to read your thoughts! I was reading this board on the flight so I expected to hate it, I was surprised I really liked how it went together. Enjoy your trip! We got here last night and the weather is so perfect 😍

Our DS arrived yesterday and DIL is coming in this morning. They are both excited to see the tower. We're coming in tomorrow night (darn SWA with no am non stop!) Oh, and thanks for the weather report! :tink:

I have a design/construction/art background so I will take a good look and report back. We plan to meet with our guide, or at least tour the mock ups. We are considering making changes to our memberships and want to have all our ducks in a row before we decide if it is even worth it. I'll be able to post something early next week.

I’m really excited to see how it will feel to stay at the Poly, in a singular building where you go from your room down a indoor hallway to a decent sized elevator (compared to the atrocious longhouse elevators) and to a brand new lobby with new shops, restaurants, pool. That will be the deciding factor for me.

The rooms, from all I’ve seen, don’t look as good as the longhouse studios. But if the feeling of being in a tower at the Poly is special, it’ll win me over.

The other factor is the standard views. Most of the longhouses have beautiful garden views. It seems like the standard views at the tower will be mostly parkinglot. Im not one to spend extra points for a view but I don’t want to be taken out of the themeing when I go out on my balcony. Hopefully there are some hidden gems in the standard views. Or if you are high enough in the tower, you see beyond the parkinglot to the greenery and trees beyond.

Still considering week 39 standard studio at Poly Tower. Is there any info which FW have been purchased and what amount has currently been released?

I had sent my guide an email before sales started with a list of FW I was potentially interested in pending promos, including week 39, and got a phone call while I was at work with the message, “we do have some available very very limited and we're opening them up on shifts”. So I take that to mean if it’s not available now maybe it will be with the next declaration.

Thank you! Have not heard back, I did send an email inquiring. Now I guess the question is when is the next declaration?

They might be done for the calendar year.

In the dues breakdown section of the updated POS they indicate they plan to end 2024 with 420 rooms (or "Vacation Homes" in inventory. OG PVB has 380 alone.

Initial inventory from the first few minutes of booking and the August declaration both show 47-48 rooms. I know 40 ≠ 48, so I'm not sure how to square this circle, but I think the fact that the POS doesn't have a number greater than 380 + 48 means they aren't expecting another declaration in 2024.
