I am thinking of putting a recipe book together for my niece who is getting married next year. She LOVES to cook and this is something she has expressed an interest in

I am looking for ideas on getting this started and what type of book I should get. I am not very crafty but getting ideas together will help me get started on the right track and I can ask a friend who is very crafty to put it together once I have the info

Any recipes anyone wants to share?

Why don't you ask all the ladies in both yours and the grooms family to submit their favorite recipe.
The moms and grandmas of the group usually come up with some of the old family recipes.

My aunt put a recipe collection together for me when I got married. Actually everyone who came to my shower wrote their favourite recipe on an index card and she put them together in a recipe box. I use it all the time now and it's something I really treasure.

Your niece will love it!

At my bridal shower, everyone was told to bring an index card w/ their favorite recipe on it. I now have all of the index cards in a 3-ring photo album. It's very convient. When I need a recipe I just pop the page out and it it protected by a plastic cover. You can get the 3 ring album at any craft store or Walmart.

a very good friend did this for me one Christmas.......She asked for recipes from everyone we knew and then she typed them out onto the same size pieces of paper......and put them in a picture saving book...It is a treasured recipe book of mine......I love it

I am doing one for my daughter and have asked all of our family members to send their favorite recipes either typed or handwritten. I also asked them to write a special note or their "secrets" for good cooking! In addition to family members I also asked special people in her life to send recipes too. I plan to give it to her when she graduates from college in 3 years.

I used a regular 3 ring binder and put the recipes in plastic sleeves. The binders are the kind that have pockets so I can print a cover and spine.

I did this too for my niece. I also included a "Just in Case" section and enclosed gift certificates for local take out restaurants with their menus. It was a big hit with everyone!

i made a cook book for my sil for christmas. i did it in pagemaker and took it to kinko's to be laminated and spiral bound. it was a big hit!

i would really love it if someone did this for me. i think it's such a nice idea.

I did this for our nieces for Christmas this year... I got recipes from their moms, myself , grandma and great grandma. Microsoft Word has a recipe section I typed them all and then put them in a binder with plastice protectors. They loved them all the work was way worth it.
