I saw this in a previous thread, but never got an answer.

Someone had stated that they were able to have the paper tickets that they purchased put on their room key at Old Key West.

I think this is great and would love to be able to do this with my Ticketmania tickets when we stay at the Poly next month.

Does anyone know anything about this?

It can't be done.

They used to be able to transfer paper tickets to the room keys, but it was a pretty drawn out process and not all CMs were properly trained how to do it, so managers had to get involved. It began to get to be a real hassle, so they won't transfer tickets at all anymore.

Sorry!

just to verify, when I booked our resort room only
with my AP, I also purchases a MYW premium ticket
for DH :smooth: all direct from disney. my understanding
is that they are not mailing us his ticket, that his will
indeed be coded to our room key, am I correct??? :confused3

You are, in effect, picking up via Will Call. Resorts can now deliver Will Call tickets, and put them on your room key.

So yes - no need to be confused. Your tickets should be on your room key.

But a ticket from Ticketmania will have to stay in its paper form. :)

whew!! thanks snackystacky! Just one less thing
to worry about coming in the mail and remembering
to pack!! :goodvibes

Yes Dan, it can be done. The software that was installed in January with the advent of MYW allows the resorts to handle the transfer of independently purchased ticket media to the resort ID very easily.

YES!!!! You are now able to do this. We checked into OKW on 4/3/2005. We bought paper tickets through Ticketmania. When we checked in, the CM asked if we needed tickets. I told him that I already had them. Then I asked if, on the offbeat chance, he could transfer them to my room key. He said that they just installed a new system that will let them do that. Then he did. He did have to get a manager involved because he ran into some problems, but it can be done!!!!!

I was very pleased, to say the least.

How about if you have extra days left over? We are planning on purchasing 10 day park hoppers with no expiration as a way to get the best value and as a hedge against inflation for use on a future trip. We are planiing on only using 4 or 5 days at the parks on this trip as we are only starying for 5 nights. Can they do this? I would love to only have to carry my room key and not my tickets.

Does anyone know if you can have your AP put onto your room key if you don't plan on using the AP anymore after the trip? I don't like that the AP cards are paper. I had to replace mine after a few days of having it last year because the magnetic strip was worn out (getting wet and being in my pocket?). It would be so much easier if our AP and room key were all on the same card.

I asked the CM at the front desk about this, as I was only staying 5 nights and we had 7 day tickets, and he said that we can continue to use our key cards for park entry after we check out. We would no longer be able to charge any purchases to them, but they will still work for entry, just like any paper ticket.

I'd like to know the answer to this too!!

I HATE it when they don't notify the help!

:teeth:

Annual passes cannot under any circumstances be put on resort IDs. There are no exceptions to this.

And Dan... they did notify the help. That's why they can do it. All you had to do was ask. ;)

I don't know if anybody knows this but I'm planning on using up a couple of my complimentary one day passes that I have left from when the Disney Store was still owned by Disney. Can I add those onto my room key pass? Also, can I exchange them for one day passes at the resort instead of at the main gates?

We'll be spending 5 nights at the AKL then 5 nights at the Poly. Can they transfer the remaining days on a MYW ticket after our first 5 nights at the AKL to the key card at the Poly resort? DD & I have APs but our travelling companions will be getting MYW tickets and I thought it might be easier for them to have it all on one card. If they have to contnue using the first KTTW card then they may as well just get a separate MYW ticket to start with.

If this can be done, do I understand correctly that I can purchase MYW tickets (Will Call) and have the CM put them on their key cards at check-in? TIA :)

That was my very feeble attempt at humor. They notified the staff. They didn't notify the help. (ie me...)

Nevermind.... :teeth:

Thanks for the post and the response! I was going to ask the very same question! We are also planning to get the 10-day No Expir. and not use it all on this trip. I asked the CM when I called to reserve our room, and he said it wouldn't be a problem, but I still thought it might be a problem / complicated / confusing coming back another time with extra "keys". Do they periodically change what the keys look like so we won't get them mixed up?

Yes, they change them periodically. They had a blue one with Donald, Mickey, Minnie and Goofy painting 100 Years of Magic, then they switched to Tinkerbelle.

I think they may have changed them for the 50 years celebration, but I'm not sure.

You could always write yourself a note on the back with a sharpie. I love those things!

Just seems odd that you return to WDW with a room key as your park pass. I dunno.
