Confusion abounds on this issue since this is the first time a worthwhile MYW package has been offered since they switched to the MYW tickets. Let me preface this by saying that what I am about to write is the way I have interpreted Disney's information. You may or may not agree with my reading of it.
The MYW tickets that come with a package - any package, not just the free dining one - are nothing like package tickets from prior years. Those old tickets (UPH's) were tied to your reservation and had to be used during that stay at WDW. They were advertised that way and expired at the end of your stay.
MYW tickets do not. They expire 14 days after first use unless the non-expiration option is purchased. There are some MYW tickets that have "must use by" expiration dates but they are specialty tickets, not the ones sold to the general public. The tickets you get with a package do not carry any "must use by" dates. None of the the booking information Disney uses shows a ticket "must use by" date. If Disney wanted you to use at least one admission, they would spell that out in their "fine print" details when booking the package. They don't.
So absent this, your MYW tickets are regular tickets. They can be saved and used anytime in the future. As I said to another DISer in another post, what's Disney going to do if you have a 7 day package and a one day ticket and on day 8 after you have left they find you have not used your one day ticket? Are they suddenly going to charge you for the meals you ate over the previous week? Not likely.
I'm afraid that the issue will not be put to rest until the first DISer comes back from their next WDW visit after their package stay and posts "I used my saved MYW Free Dining package ticket today and had no problems".
Could I be wrong about the way I interpret this? Possibly because you can never say never when you deal with Disney. But I think the probability of my being right outweighs the possibility of my being wrong on this.
