We are doing some work to the house, when we started the project we had about $41K to replace all the windows, doors, siding and to gut the kitchen..
Of course once we got rolling we went over budget on everything and didn't plan on a few things.. So now we need to cut back a few things..
1. Going to hold off on replacing the front door, its surrounded by stone, so no biggie, but will do the two that are in the siding portion of the house..
2. Going with stainless appliances, but will keep our current white one until later..
3. And now for my question.. We are putting in about 850 SF of laminate flooring in the kitchen, hallway and back into the family room (it will all connect, same flooring).. We had to rip up the kitchen/dining flooring because thats where the cabinets went. The kitchen and hallway are about 300 SF of the total.. Would it be foolish to install 300 SF now, then wait a few months and finish it?? Or should we go against our goal of not borrowing money to finish the product and put the rest on a credit card? Not a lot of money here, maybe $2200 total..
