Say you want everyone in your group to take the name of a different character from a movie, for example Toy Story. Someone could be Buzz, Woody, Hamm etc. Has anyone tried this? What name shows up once you scan it at an attraction? Is it your given name or the name of the character? Thanks.

On the cast members' screen it shows your actual name, not the custom thing you chose to put inside the MagicBand.

That's what we wanted to know. Thanks for the information. We wanted to do characters from Napoleon Dynamite, but we won't bother now.

As others said, it's not the name on the bands; it's actually the name on the MDE account. It's actually very easy to change and change back anytime. If you want to have fun with it you can change everyone's first name. Check this thread from January, when someone asked about doing it I changed mine and did a screen capture.

Can I travel with your group and be Uncle Rico? Coach woulda put me in the fourth quarter, we would've been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind.

As others said, it's not the name on the bands; it's actually the name on the MDE account. It's actually very easy to change and change back anytime.
