Purse Snatcher in Mall Restroom!

A few years back there was a woman who was working the airside bathrooms at Lambert Airport in St. Louis. People started frustrating her by wrapping the strap around the hook a few times, so she went to a new tactic -- she CRAWLED across the tops of the stalls! The cops set a stake-out for her with a cop in a stall; they used a weighted suitcase to knock her down off the wall. It was big news when they caught her: you have to be pretty desperate to crawl across the open space at the top of the stall partitions; talk about something that would startle you.

Yeh, it definitely wouldn't be pretty. :lmao:

But it's like, enough is enough with these people, you know? :headache:

Too bad we don't have a taser gun. We could taser their hand as they reach over. :scared1:

Uh huh, and which hand are you going to hold that in? ;) Didn't you hang your bag up because of a lack of an extra hand?. :lmao: Sorry, I couldn't resist that one. :) The thought of accidentally using it on myself hurts too bad to think of holding that while in the stall. :rotfl2:
(And, yes I love my pockets for my stuff when shopping or the across the body purses.) :)

I usually have my kids with me and I refuse to let them wait outside of the stall by themselves while I'm taking care of business because I don't want someone running off with them, so I usually have one of them hold my purse.:thumbsup2

I remember this happening all the time back in NY when I was growing up. They started installing wire gates from the door to the ceiling to prevent hands from coming over.

And this was 30-40 years ago!

I heard about this a few years ago and always wrap the strap around the hook a few times. I've been noticing that more and more hooks are being installed lower on the door.

This is why I don't carry a purse. All I need is an ID, my debit card, and my cell phone. Those all fit in a pocket. If I'm out with the baby and stroller, DH is normally there too and he keeps an eye on the diaper bag. If he's not there, I use the family restroom with a real locking door.

One more reason, If it doesn't fit in my pocket, I don't need it.

And my aunt has been concerned about this for ages. It's really not anything new. Several places either have a really tall door, a fold down table for setting your purse on, or hooks are in the middle of the door.

hrm squirt gun warm water. Can you imagine the reaction of person reaching for purse as they get wet. :rotfl2:

Okay, that wasn't thought all the way through. :lmao:

Must have been during what I nostalgically call the "Death Wish" era. (The times of the Charles Bronson movies.) Stalls are normal now.

Eww! :crazy2:

I agree-- All I need is money, a license and my debit card---fits nicely in my pocket, no need to lug around a big bag.

Have you ever waited for some one to pull one thing out of one of those huge bags?? They should start making kitchen sink keychains, just so they can say they have everything including the kitchen sink in that purse.

FYI I had my first foray last night into a public restroom stall since this thread.

Would just like to report that....

I WAS READY!! :cool1:

Sadly, I was the only one in there and I didn't get to test out my plan. (I did have a good chuckle, though, picturing a hand or a hook coming in, lmao.)

Maybe next time.

:lmao:

We've unleashed a Bathroom Monster! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Beware the other side of the stall. . .
