Hey,
My boyfriend is a manager at one of the Flagship stores... they just recieved word today that they would be getting Purple Passes to replace they Silver Passes. It is basically the same, but with the Purple Pass, you have to pay for parking, and no longer recieve a discount at any of the hotels... also, no longer can you get 4 people in. Here is how it works... all managers will recieve this. the only people eligable to get into the park with the Purple pass is the employee, and anyone who is listed on their insurance benifits. So, if there is no one else listed, just the employee will be able to get in free... but if a spouse/partner and or children are listed on the insurance they will also be alowed in free. There will also still be discounts on food and merch in the parks. These are going to be distributed at the 1st of the year in the mail... and everyone eligable to use the Purple Pass will be listed on the purple pass. The Silver Pass will remain good until the end of the year.
All other cast members will receive 3 single day passes per year, which is good for only 1 day and one park. They will have to call ahead of time and pick the pass up at the park...
 
What if you're a two income family and your spouse carries the insurance---you still have a spouse and kids but you don't pay for insurance thourgh The Children's Place. Does that mean if you don't pay for their insurance program you can't get your family into the parks?
 
from what i understand, yes, the dependants have to be on the insurance of the cast member.
 
Actually, it is nice that they are still getting passes as a benefit since they are no longer going to owned by Disney.
 

1) Since they aren't Disney, TDS CM's shouldn't expect benies
2) I don't think the passes outweigh the lower pay.
3) However
. . . for a mall store, the pay is about average
. . . for an average mall job, free tickets ($150-$240) is good
. . . for a mall job, things could be worse
 
Well as far as passes not outweighing the lower pay... i'm not sure what you are talking about. Everyone has been asked to stay on with the company, and told that their pay rate will stay the same.
I personally think these purple passes are a great idea... we try and go to DL once a month or so, and now the only difference is going to be that we have to pay $7.00 per day to park... no big deal.

Do you know what you are talking about?
Are you saying only Disney cast members receive benefits from DisneyWorld? Just curious, cause you would be wrong.

You seem to miss the point that there are things that Disney would like to work with TCP that really benefit Disney.
The whole problem with your theory is that the people who work for TDS tend to be people who are in love with Disney and do not do it for money. Free tickets hardly match discounts given at other mall jobs. As opposed to people who work at the gap where the discounts are well above 3 free one park entry tickets.

Also Disney will be hurting themselves by not allowing all the former cast members to shop at the few cast member locations. Ask the people who work at Company D where most of their business comes from! We'll see what happens. I welcome the change. You have already seen the many changes that CP will bring. You just don't know you have been witnessing them. ;)
