Purple Magic Bands

I painted mine with purple nail polish & it turned out great.

I did this for my son and it turned out great too. He loves deep purple!

Agreed! I would love an option for tiffany blue, aqua, or seafoam green!

I painted mine with a beautiful sparkly aqua color. I love it too. I can't wait to wear them.

I also made DH's black and added sparkles and gems to my daughter's pink one. There is a thread on here with all sorts of great ideas.

Haha!!! I love that this is a discussion!!! I keep checking MDE in hopes that they add a purple before our trip in Sept! It's just DD and I, so right now we both have pink, but I want purple!!!! Last trip I got green, but it isn't a super pretty green.... Oh well, I'll join the rest of you and hope and wait!!!

Oh I hope not! I'm sure CMs don't want to stick out as CMs when they are at the parks for fun. Is there a reason they would need to be different?

What color was your original band?

I painted over yellow with a dark slightly shiny/shimmery purple with no problems at all. About to try more of a lavender over grey for my daughter... We'll see how that goes!

Fun. I have a lime green one but I really want purple like all those posting on this thread! I don't want barney purple...something lighter.

I wish they'd do a set of pastel colors.

All the colors are basic "Disney" colors. You can see them in most Disney characters.

For example, the red is the same red in Mickey's clothing and Lightning McQueen's paint. The same blue is in Donald's clothing and Dory. Green is the same as Tinkerbell's dress. Even the grey is the same a Dumbo and Eeyore. You can come up with a lot of different characters, where the colors are the same as the Magic Bands.

Not sure where they'd get purple, though. I think the most purple characters would be Ursula, Maleficent, and Rapunzel. And they're not as "classic" or popular as the other ones (although the new Maleficent movie might change that somewhat).

Regardless, if they did do a purple eventually, it would be in whatever shade is associated with those characters.

Edit: Oops! Forgot about Princess Sofia! Betcha if they do purple, it would be in that shade.

To those who have painted theirs- does it crack at all? Did you put clear over it? I'm just thinking of how hard it is to keep nail polish on my nails I'd love to customize my daughters' and mine.

The dye for the purple magic band bled a lot.

I put clear coat over it. Of course I had to protect figment so I did a few coats over him.

If you glue any crystals on I highly recommend super glue. They are stuck on there good (and the paper I had under it and the tweezers lol). I can post a picture once I get my husband to put them on our website. His was Phineas and Ferb witha perry type color for the band. He got a lot of compliments on his. My boys I used a more red nail polish on the bands and added cars to them. Of course they had a tiny bit of bling with a micky head done with small crystals over the mickey head at the edge of the band.

Take it for what it's worth (phone CMs are notorious, I know), but when I booked my fall free dining package earlier this month the CM told me to make sure I log in and pick my Magic Bands when I get the email and to be on the lookout for new colors they'll be releasing, and he specifically mentioned purple.

I'll believe it when I see it on the site, or maybe not until it's in the box in my mailbox with my name printed on the back

When I checked in at POR a few weeks ago the CM and I were chatting while everything was being processed and we got on this subject. I mentioned how much I wish they had purple and what she said was that she had heard that the purple wasn't turning out exactly like they wanted yet and they were still working on it. And that it was in the works along with white and black as well. So maybe but again I think it's one of those things that we won't really know until Disney officially releases info on it. But I wouldn't be surprised if a couple more colors didn't come out at some point!

Just changed my magic band to purple
Saw on a article that purple was now an option. I was very surprised a couple of weeks ago when it wasn't.
