Purple Haunted Mansion MagicBand?

I read in a couple of places that the new purple Haunted Mansion MagicBand was supposed to go on sale in the parks on Oct. 9. Has anyone seen them for sale yet? Going next month and hoping to pick one up there if they're not for sale online yet. Thanks in advance!

They did go on sale on the 9th. By 10am though there was only 1 left in Momento Mori. Not sure about other stores. You could have no problem grabbing on in a month unless they have some sort of supply issue

Got all three PURPLES on Friday!!

Not sure if the HM is going to be sold online ... I haven't really read up but the CM made me link it at the store. The other two did not have to be linked.

It has been said that these may be MB 2.0, are they thinner and/or lighter than the traditional bands?

I wonder if this is an indication of purple coming for regular MBs and I wonder if these are upgraded designs (ie MB 2.0) if the regular bands that you order with your room, might eventually become MB 2.0 style... if that is actually a thing.

Yes these bands are thinner and lighter. The one CM said they are made of a different material. I left the packaging there so I really didn't read anything about them.

Looks minimal in photo but you can really feel a difference. Bottom is old and top new - both HM bands.

If the obvious locations are sold out (they were by 5 pm Friday) look to off locations. I got my HM in Town Square Theater. We also found about a dozen in the Big Top Souvenirs in Storybook Circus.

If you are flying into MCO, check the Disney Earport store. They sell hard to find MagicBands there.

How much are the special MBs? $19.99 each? I am trying to make myself choose between one of these three plus the red polka dot one to go with my party outfit.

Can someone please clarify for me the definitions of "limited release" vs "limited edition"? thanks

Limited Edition: a preset and definite number of produced MagicBands. The Vader MB was a Limited Edition - when it sold out, that was it.

Limited Release: the MagicBands will be available for a predetermined period of time. If they sell out, more will be produced during that predetermined time period.

Open Stock: not limited in number or a set period of time.
